discussions of sex. Word count: 994

Makishima has been rolling this idea around for a while.
He’s been dating Toudou and Tadokoro for nearly a year now, separately, and things have been going pretty well. The two of them are getting along pretty nicely, too, so long as the conversation is kept away from anything to do with food or eating habits. He loves them both, in ways that are slightly different but no less equal, and he finds himself wondering what it would be like if all three of them were together.

Would you two be interested in a threesome with me? He texts them. He hits send before he can talk himself out of it, then stares intently at his phone, waiting for something to happen.

He doesn’t have to wait long. Toudou, prompt as ever, calls him a minute later.

“Maki-chan!” he shrills in greeting. “What a bold offer! Of course I accept, but I want you to know that I have some stipulations! I won’t be drawn into anything sordid, you know…” he continues on, listing off what he thinks should be present at the event to make it more appropriate (candles, nice music, baths after). Makishima smiles throughout the whole thing and makes noises of assent whenever Toudou pauses.

“Thank you, Jinpachi,” he says at the end, and there’s a surprised pause.

“Of course, Maki-chan! You know I am always delighted to bless you and the bear with my glorious presence.” Makishima rolls his eyes but smiles anyway.

“Bye.” He hangs up, and notices that he’s received a text while Toudou was talking. It’s from Tadokoro.

OK, it reads. Makishima smiles. He feels a little giddy with anticipation.

This is the best idea he’s ever had.
--

This is the worst idea he’s ever had.

The evening started well enough. Toudou had come over smelling fresh and clean, with a bag of soaps, lotions, and scented oils because “You never know!” Tadokoro had arrived earlier, as he lived closer, with a bag of snacks “For stamina.”

Makishima hadn’t wanted to rush into things, so they'd watched a movie first. He sat between them, soaking up their warmth. As the movie went on, he reached out to either side and grabbed a hold of each of their hands. He brought Toudou’s hand to his mouth and kissed it, then turned his head to kiss Tadokoro’s shoulder, gently. They each made a soft, pleased noise, and he smiled. Tadokoro turned to kiss Makishima’s head, while Toudou rubbed his thumb over the back of Makishima’s hand and snuggled closer.

Towards the end of the movie, Makishima excused himself and went up to his room to set the mood. He set up the candle (four tea lights and a flashlight with a scarf over it), started the music (Philip Glass), and changed into his favorite paisley dressing gown.

When he came back into the living room, Toudou and Tadokoro both looked surprised.

“Maki-chan! What an unusual dressing gown,” Toudou babbled, and Makishima detected a hint of nervousness in his voice. Well, none of them had done this before, so it was understandable. Tadokoro just turned red and stared.

“Do you two want to come to my room?” Makishima asked, a little awkwardly. They both nodded and followed him up the stairs.

Which leads to their current situation.

“You should start,” Tadokoro says, gesturing between Toudou and Makishima. “You’re rivals, after all. I’ll see if you need any snacks and join in later.”

“Oh, no,” Toudou replies, smiling his sweetest and falsest smile. “You should go first. Seeing the two of you will ignite my competitive instincts, so I can perform my best.”

It’s been like this for the past few minutes. On any other occasion, Makishima would be glad at how considerate they’re being of each other. In this case, however, their thoughtfulness seems to stem from the fact that, apparently, neither of them wants to have sex with him.

“Why don’t you both come here,” Makishima says, patting the bed. “We don’t have to start right away; we can make out a little first.” Toudou and Tadokoro exchange an uncertain glance and shuffle over to the bed. Makishima lets out a huff. “Do you not want to do this?”

“Of course!” Tadokoro says, a touch too loudly. Then, quieter, “Not really.”

“Maki-chan, I’m really sorry, but I don’t want to do this either,” Toudou sniffles.

“Do you not want to have sex with me?” Makishima is upset and a little irritated. “Then why did you say yes?”

“I do!” Tadokoro booms, his volume control gone again the way it does whenever he was nervous. “Just…not like this. I want it to just be the two of us, you know?”

“Then why did you say yes?” Makishima asks again. He frowns at Tadokoro and awkwardly pats Toudou on the back in what he hopes is a comforting manner.

“Because you wanted it,” Tadokoro says, awkwardly.

“I’m sorry,” Toudou sobs. For someone so good-looking, he really is an ugly crier. “I thought I could do it but I can’t! It’s too weird!”
Makishima sighs.

“You two are ridiculous,” he says, settling further back on the bed. Tadokoro hangs his head while Toudou gasps indignantly. “I just thought it would be fun. You didn’t have to say yes if you didn’t want to.”

“So we’re not going to have a threesome?” Tadokoro sounds relieved.

“No,” replies Makishima, then pauses. “Not today, at least. I might ask again later, but you can always refuse.”

“I love you, Maki-chan,” Toudou sniffles, throwing an arm around Makishima’s shoulders.

“I love you too, Jinpachi,” he says quietly. “And I love you, Tadokorochi.” Tadokoro smiles at him.

“Love you,” he mumbles, before scooping Makishima and Toudou into his arms.
--
Maybe not the worst idea in the world, Makishima thinks as he drifts off.

poem, 15 lines

Something changed: hands clenched in
fists, and the look in your eye, not sunrise
but sunset-- an ending. You told me
not to follow.

I pray for independence from these
ties in my blood that tether me to
you. I pray, and they drag me on.

Can't you see, brother, I'm trying to let
you go? But my dreams mirror yours--distorted
strange and larger, an echo
a shadow,
something haunting in your mind.

Can't you see, that I'll follow
you anywhere? And though I try, I've never
been eager to obey.

Supposedly, the lungs and chest should stay partially empty,
but it seems mine refuse to leave any space where you could be.
So forget my limitations and let me intake you sweetly
and deeply, and with every cavity of me permitting entry,
gently permeate my belly with elasticity.
I want to feel you easing into every inch of me.

Ryousuke rubbed at the lipstick with his thumb, smearing it over his cheek as he leveled Miyuki with a cool gaze. He was practically swimming in Miyuki’s jersey and letting the edge of the jersey fall over his thighs. As Ryousuke crossed his ankles, his heels, weighing his feet down a little too obviously for his liking, clicked loudly against the floor. He smirked at the way Miyuki seemed to freeze at the sound.

“You really are into some weird stuff, aren’t you?”

These two met like six hours ago and they've already spent so much of their work day texting their bosses are threatening to fire them.

They've spent the better part of those six hours subtly flirting and less subtly shit-talking people who graduated the same year they did. Disaster pair.

Kaidou stared at Inui. He was hunched in the corner of his quarters, his fingers steepled in front of him, as if they were meant to shield him from the rest of the room. But the only one here was Kaidou, who was doing his best to keep a respectful distance. He wanted to move closer, but for now Inui seemed to be acting like a feral animal, one that might lash out at any unexpected move.

Kaidou felt this was a reversal that he wasn’t prepared for.

“Haven’t you ever wondered how Vulcans choose their mates?” Inui asked. A bead of sweat was making its way down Inui’s temple, and Kaidou strained himself to remember if he had ever seen Inui sweat before.

“No,” Kaidou said.

“Really? Most humans seem so preoccupied with the idea,” Inui said, and some bitterness seemed to be seeping any his words. “After all, humans love to note how dispassionate we are. You all seem to find passion a prerequisite for… mating.”

“Usually,” Kaidou agreed, softly.

“Unfortunately, Vulcan biology would agree with you.”

Kaidou swallowed. “So, the reason you've been having these violent outbursts…”

Inui flinched — Kaidou could see that plainly from the clench of his face muscles, even if his eyes were obscured by the visor. “I thought I could control it,” Inui said. “I should…” He was shaking now, so slightly that Kaidou almost didn’t notice it. “I should be able to control it.”

“There’s no shame in getting angry, sir,” Kaidou said.

“How do you deal with it?” Inui asked. When Kaidou only tilted his head in confusion, Inui pressed on. “How do you deal with having these emotions all the time?”

Kaidou frowned. “Most people tell me I deal with it badly.”

Inui laughed, and Kaidou froze in surprise. “I suppose you have a point.”

“So…” Kaidou shifted nervously. “You're saying that you need to…”

“Once every seven years, Vulcans must return to their homeworld to take a mate,” Inui explained.

“Your homeworld,” Kaidou said. “Why? Couldn't you find a… mate… wherever you are?”

“Vulcan marriages are arranged,” Inui said. “It’s the only way we can be sure that our choices are made logically. Otherwise, we would choose our mates in the throes of passion.”

“Seems to work for everyone else,” Kaidou said before he could think better of it. As soon as he realized what he’d said, balked. “I mean… not that the Vulcan way is bad.”

Once again, Inui smiled. “That’s a very human response. And I would be lying if I said I wasn't somewhat fascinated by by the human way of doing things.”

Kaidou paused, considering that. “So… you have a mate waiting for you, back home then.”

Inui nodded. “That's why I need you to convince the captain. I need to go home.”

“We’re in deep space,” Kaidou said. “Even if we diverted now, it could be more than a month.”

Inui clenched his fists. Kaidou braced for an outburst that was kept just barely under wraps. “Unacceptable,” was all Inui said, his voice shaking slightly.

“It’s the truth,” Kaidou said. “Sir, if you aren’t able to go home to your… mate. What happens then?”

Inui scowled. “Kaidou… This matter is not one that any Vulcan can discuss easily, and never with outsiders. I have told you far more than any non-Vulcan should know. Please press no further.”

“Commander!” Kaidou took a step forward before he could think better of it. Inui snarled at him, and he instantly froze. “Commander,” he said again, in a lower, placating tone. “Clearly this… whatever it is… affects you a lot. How long will you go on like this if you can't…”

Inui frowned. “If I can't mate… The chemical imbalance will continue. It could kill me.”

“Commander!”

“Do not concern yourself with it!”

Kaidou stepped away, just slightly, giving Inui some room but refusing to retreat. “So… you have a mate waiting for you?”

“I do.”

Kaidou frowned. “I didn’t know you were married.”

“I’m not.”

Kaidou raised an eyebrow.

“I have not seen my mate since both of us were very young. This will be our first time meeting as adults.”

“What?” Kaidou spat, but tried to keep his voice even. “How do you even know what kind of person they’ve become?”

“I don’t,” Inui said. “But that doesn’t matter. We are a logical match. Our genetic code is very compatible.”

Kaidou hissed under his breath. “Seems a bit backwards to me.”

“It is our custom.”

“If it were me, I’d rather know I was going to like the person, more than their DNA.”

“And that is one of many reasons you’d make a very poor Vulcan, Kaidou.”

Kaidou gave him a look, but Inui turned away.

“You said you found the human way fascinating though,” Kaidou pointed out.

“A fascination, nothing more.”

“Seems like it's a fascination that could save your life.”

Inui’s head snapped up, giving him a stern look. Kaidou stood firm, but even he wasn't exactly sure what he was advocating.

“I’m… I’m just saying, Commander. If… if there’s anyone on the ship that you think… You could trust… It would be easier, wouldn’t it?”

Inui fell silent, looking away. “I couldn’t… I wouldn’t be able to know that it was the right decision.”

“Humans feel like that all the time.”

“Sounds terrifying.”

Kaidou shrugged. “You get used to it.”

“I’d rather not.”

“Commander.” Kaidou stopped as soon as he began, reconsidering what he would say next. “You trusted me to tell me this much. And I’m grateful for that. And I don’t mean to imply that you should… That is to say…”

“You’re right, Kaidou,” Inui said. “I do trust you. Very much.”

“I’m just saying,” Kaidou said. “I would like to help you in… any way you’d let me… sir.”

Inui reached out and Kaidou was almost afraid that this would be another outburst. But instead, his hand gently touched Kaidou’s. Inui fingers slipped around Kaidou’s palm, and pulled at him. Kaidou allowed himself to be handled and rearranged until he was holding his hand up, pressing palm to palm with Inui’s.

Kaidou was shocked. First thing humans learned in interspecies relations was not to touch a Vulcan’s hand if you could help it. It was special to them — intimate. For Inui to initiate it…

“Are you sure that you’ve never wondered how Vulcans mate, Lieutenant?” Inui asked.

Kaidou felt his face heating. “I… Well… Sir…”

Inui smiled. His other hand reached out for Kaidou’s temple, brushing at his hair. “Tell me. Have you ever mind melded with a Vulcan before?”

“No.”

“I’d like to,” Inui said, and Kaidou gaped. “It will help you understand what you’re agreeing to. Words won’t describe it well enough.”

Kaidou nodded, a bit too quickly. “I… Sure…” His heart quickened as he felt Inu’s fingertips slide over his skin, pressing down along precise points.

“Don’t be afraid,” Inui said. “Accounts have said that the few humans to participate in this process found it… enjoyable.”

Kaidou paused to wonder if he meant the mind meld, or… He nodded. “I trust you, sir.”

Kaidou huffed for the third time in as many minutes. He stretched his legs anxiously from his seat. He tapped his fingers against his rifle. It was a nice rifle. Kaidou didn’t consider himself the best marksman — he prefered doing things up close and personal when he could — but he was competent at it and the scope on this one was really nice. He brought the rifle up and looked through the scope just for the sake of doing it; that was also the third time he’d done it in the space of time he’d been sitting.

He sighed and lowered the rifle. Next to him was Inui, laid out and all but indistinguishable from dead, at least to Kaidou. The only difference were the thick wires plugged into his neck, and the occasional twitch from him. Kaidou wondering if the twitching had some sort of rhyme or reason; maybe when Inui was hacking something really hard he twitched a little because his brain got confused. Kaidou frowned at that thought though; he didn’t feel convinced that Inui’s brain got confused about anything ever, much less nerve responses, thought maybe he was overestimating.

He considered about asking Inui later, but then instantly felt embarrassed at the thought of asking such a dumb question. He flushed — and thankfully noted that at least Inui wasn’t watching him — and went back to fiddling with his rifle instead.

Suddenly, the crawl space flooded with a blue light, and Kaidou jumped, instantly on edge at the change, and gripped the rifle tightly. He relaxed when he looked over to see that it was simply that Inui had opened his eyes. The light flooding out of his cybernetic eyes pooled just above him, and resolved into several figures and charts. Inui’s hands darted up and began prodding and manipulating the data in front of him.

“You got in?” Kaidou asked.

Inui made a distracted sort of noise that Kaidou assumed was a yes.

“Anything… interesting?” Kaidou asked, trying to draw out any sort of response.

“We wouldn’t have been assigned to infiltrate this company if there was nothing of interest inside it’s databases,” Inui said, his hands still flicking across the projection.

“True,” Kaidou said. “So… you got the right… databases?”

“I did,” Inui said.

Kaidou frowned, sensing the end of the conversation. He sighed and brought the rifle up to his face again, checking the scope. “I don’t suppose there’s any bad guys coming for us?”

Inui raised an eyebrow. “The phrasing of your question supposes a moral dichotomy in which we are indisputably in the right, and therefore anyone who opposes us is morally bad, which seems like a very questionable basis on which to make assumptions,” Inui said. “That said, no one seems to be aware of our presence. We were very stealthy in our entry and I’ve been very careful in my efforts.”

Kaidou only grunted in reply.

“You seem disappointed.”

Kaidou frowned. “It’s not like that… But this is a little. Boring.”

“This is the interesting part,” Inui said. “Doing all of this makes the need for fighting disappear.”

Kaidou huffed.

“Besides, you’d be disappointed if you had to use that rifle anyway,” Inui said. “You prefer close-quarters.” He paused for just a moment, smiling. “That’s much more fun to observe, anyway.”

Kaidou flushed again, and hoped Inui was too preoccupied with his interesting work to notice.

“Eww!” Kikumaru balked, his feline ears laying flat on his head. He backed away, retreating into Oishi’s side. Oishi seemed to be equally squeamish, a look of concern contorting his face.

“Oh, good. You found him,” Inui said, coming up along side the pair of them. His black robes were slightly singed, but that was hardly an unusual state for them; they were often covered in far more distasteful things.

On the ground was Kaidou, and he was far worse off than Inui’s robes. The attacking party had been a bit too much, managing to pierce through both Kaidou’s armor and his thick, draconic skin.

He was in far more pieces than any one party member should be.

“Well, nothing to do but gather him up,” Inui said, rolling up the sleeves of his robes. “Would you mind lending me a hand?”

“Inui, his brains aren’t even in his head anymore,” Kikumaru said, wrinkling his nose.

“Hmm.” Inui reached out and grabbed Kaidou’s muzzle, tilting it to examine his head. “Right. Well, nothing to do but just shove them back in. I find the eye socket to be the best way to go.” He was already tilting the head the right way, prying the more damaged eye open. “Mind handing the brain to me?”

Kikumaru gagged. “Okay, I’m leaving. Good luck with the Kaidou thing.”

Inui frowned, but said nothing as he set about gathering the pieces of Kaidou together himself.

Kaidou awoke in Inui’s workshop, his eyes slowly fluttering open while Inui was still in the middle of stitching his abdomen shut. It wouldn’t be an issue, Inui knew from experience. Kaidou’s pain sensations were far too dulled to register as simple a repair as this.

Kaidou’s hand shot up, running over his skull.

“It’s all there,” Inui said simply. “Most of your original skull bone too, though I did have to supplement a little. I also took the liberty of applying a potion to stimulate hair regrowth. I had to shave it clean while I was working up there.”

Kaidou hissed at that, and Inui smiled. Kaidou raised his other arm, only to find his hand missing. “Don’t worry. That’s next on my list.”

Kaidou huffed and let his arm fall to his side. “Sorry, senpai.”

Inui tied off the suture he was on, and reached over to grab the pan that Kaidou’s hand was sitting in. “Sorry for what?”

“I keep messing up.”

Inui picked up Kaidou’s hand, clawed and scaled, and turned it over. He sat down on the worktable, next to Kaidou, and lined up the hand with the matching wrist. “You have nothing to apologize for. It can be hard getting used to. You’re not as durable as you once were.”

Kaidou grimaced. “Now that I’m dead you mean.”

“You’re not dead,” Inui said. “You’re here, aren’t you?”

“Because you’re keeping me alive.” He flinched as Inui pierced his skin with a needle, and began stitching again. “If you weren’t a necromancer…”

“You said it yourself. I’m ‘keeping you alive’. So by definition, you aren’t dead.”

“That seems like an excuse, senpai.”

Inui shrugged.

“Why do you keep me alive anyway?”

Inui smiled again as he tied off his sutures again, finished reattaching the hand. He rubbed a salve over it, to let the magic finish mending the muscle and bone beneath it. “I suppose you’ll have to stay alive long enough to find out.”

talking about sex, references to lingering fluids, a swear. Word count: 530

“Holy shit,” Tanaka panted as Noya rolled off of him and flopped to the side. “That was awesome.”

We were awesome,” Noya replied, just as breathless. They high-fived, and Tanaka let his hand flop down onto Noya's stomach.

“Gross,” he said, looking at the mess his hand had landed in. He didn't move his hand, though.

“Yeah, well, it's your fault, Ryuu.” Tanaka huffed a laugh and looked down at himself.

“Just like it's your fault my thighs are all sticky and I'm in the wet spot,” he said.

“Is it really wet?” Noya shoved his hand under Tanaka's legs. “Ewww.”

“Your fault,” Tanaka said again.

Your fault for having such great thighs,” Noya shot back. Tanaka snorted and they started laughing. Tanaka removed his hand from Noya's sticky stomach and wrinkled his nose. He turned his head to the side and spotted the boxers he'd been wearing earlier that afternoon and grabbed them.

“Here, use these to clean up,” he said, dropping his boxers on Noya, who halfheartedly used them to wipe up the mess.

“You want 'em now?” he asked, offering them back to Tanaka.

“Nah, it's fine. I'm too lazy right now. I'll do laundry later today or something.” They were quiet a moment, reveling in what they had done.

“Seriously though, Ryuu, that was great,” Noya said. “I don't know how we're gonna go back to just making out after that.”

“I like making out,” Tanaka muttered. “Making out is great.”

“Making out is great, but this was like...like making out times ten. Time a hundred! This was like...like saving the ball at the last second, but better.”

“Like a game-winning spike,” Tanaka put in. Noya grinned at him and held his hand up for another high-five. Tanaka happily obliged him.

“We're gonna do this again, right?” Noya asked, rearranging himself so he was on his side looking at Tanaka.

“Yeah we are!” Tanaka turned his head to look back at Noya.

“Good! Because my parents are out of town next weekend and I was thinking you could come over? We could take our time; maybe try...” He trailed off.

“Butt stuff?” Tanaka supplied. Noya snorted and nodded. “That sounds awesome, Noya.” He yawned, and Noya followed suit. “But first, let's take a nap.”

Saeko sniffed as she walked past Ryuu's room and wrinkled her nose.

“Ugh,” she muttered. “Well, good for him.”

Half an hour later, Tanaka wandered downstairs to get some water for him and Noya, scratching absently at his stomach and the backs of his thighs. He stopped, noticing the note taped to the fridge.

Ryuu, it read in Saeko's handwriting.
Congrats on getting some, baby bro, but maybe open a window or something after. The whole hall reeks of sex.
~Saeko
PS You're doing laundry

He groaned. Of course Saeko would have noticed, and of course she just had to say something.

Still, though, he thought as he filled two glasses with water and started back upstairs to where Noya was still sleeping, there was no way he'd go back.

if you look into the product reviews at the source for this quote they include numerous and graphic descriptions of bowel emptying
and im not into that and maybe god will forgive me for prompting this but im a fool who cant pass up a joke about being poisoned. i dont know anymore.

Haribo, I hold no ill will. I blame no one. I have even forgiven myself. Tell my wife I loved her and my last thoughts were of her and tell my children I fought like a man.
