FILL: Team Grandstand, T
Watching Fujita dance was simultaneously fascinating and frustrating. Frustrating because he was still so clearly a beginner, his form imperfect, his steps clumsy, his leading nonexistent. Fascinating because, in spite of those same faults, which would disgust Hyoudou ordinarily, Hyoudou could not help but watch him. There was something about Fujita's dancing, his responsiveness to his partner and quick thinking, that made it clear to Hyoudou that he was a diamond in the rough, brimming with potential. Fujita could, someday, be a worthy rival. But not yet.
Time and time again, Hyoudou found himself coming back to Fujita's inability to lead. It was the primary thing holding him back from developing his own style. But that level of responsiveness was rare and interesting. Hyoudou wanted to experience it. He wavered between wanting to lead and feeling Fujita react to his guidance, and wanting to allow Fujita to take control and see what happened. What would Fujita feel from Hyoudou and his dancing? What, if anything, would Hyoudou learn from such an experience?
And Hyoudou was young, and dancing was, for him, tied to sex, and so he was not so surprised to find himself wondering how that responsiveness would apply to other activities. Would Fujita be able to read his intent from a look? A touch? If they danced, would Fujita be able to tell that Hyoudou's thoughts were not entirely focused on the dancing? And if so, what would he do?
And if- if- something happened with him and Fujita, how would that translate? His mind, ever helpful, provided him with memories of Fujita dancing-- his eyes intense with concentration; the sweat shining on his face; his fumbling joy-- and altered the context. Fujita moving under him as Hyoudou took control. Fujita taking him apart, giving Hyoudou what he wanted before he even knew he wanted it. The two of them giving and taking in equal measure, reading each other's bodies in a closed circuit of action and reaction.
But this was all speculation, and so was thrilling and full of possibility. Hyoudou could consider all possibilities, and, if he didn't like the result, simply start over. There was no possibility of Fujita disappointing him here. There were too many 'if's, too much uncertainty for Hyoudou to make any definite moves. Not to mention, his mother would kill him for messing with one of her pet projects. But there was nothing wrong with wondering.
“Kiyoharu, I'm going to be working with Chinatsu-chan one-on-one for the next bit,” his mother said. “Go help Tatara-kun.” He nodded, and looked over to where Fujita stood, eyes wide and nervous and determined.
As he arched his back into proper following position and settled himself into Fujita's hold, he let his hand brush down Fujita's neck before settling on his shoulder.
Fujita shivered.
Hyoudou smiled.
