FILL: TEAM Tachibana Makoto/Yamazaki Sousuke, T
Word count: 1926
June 12th 19XX. 12:32 A.M.
I finally arrived in this far land country after days stuck on a boat. But at least I managed to get closer to my target during that time.
Makoto Tachibana.
Age: 23.
Birthdate: November 17th 19XX.
Nationality: Japanese.
Job: Florist.
As expected from the previous reports and pictures, this man looks innocent at first glance. He had helped an old lady who was seasick as I approached him. One waiter had helped this woman to join his room thanks to Tachibana’s advice.
----------------------------
“Excuse me, sir. Do you have a lighter?” This may be the easiest to initiate a discussion killing two birds with one stone. Not only was Sousuke getting closer to his target but he was also able to satisfy his need in nicotine.
“Ah –lighter. Yes.” Tachibana looked a bit taken aback by the sudden question –or was it due to his height? The fact someone suddenly talked to him in Japanese in this place? His smile was back on his face as he handed him the precious object. Sousuke placed his hand on Tachibana’s one to guide him to his cigarette already in his mouth. The cigarette alighted; the black haired man let him go with one of his smile.
It was rare for Sousuke to smile. But right now, he wasn’t Sousuke. So obviously he would act differently from who he truly was to hide his identity. This little touch seemed to have troubled however Tachibana who didn’t seem to know how to react from their proximity except from his blushing face.
“I am sorry. An old injury makes it hard for me to light my cigarette.” Sousuke informed as he glanced towards his right shoulder. Indeed he had hold Tachibana’s hand with his left one. “And I am quite clumsy with my left hand. I hope you don’t mind.” The charming smile and sweet tone were easing the florist as he placed back the lighter into one of his pocket.
“Oh I see, don’t worry.” Tachibana seemed to hesitate a moment between staying by Sousuke’s side or leaving. What should he say though? Normally he was good at talking with anyone, even strangers but he couldn’t help wondering about this man’s injury. Yet it was far too indiscreet to mention right off the bat. The man caught this spark of interest in those green eyes eventually and started explaining.
“It was a stupid accident really. I may not look like one but I was a good swimmer in my old days. I kept training and training until eventually I ended up breaking it to the no point return.”
“I—am sorry I shouldn’t have asked.” Tachibana apologized in what seemed a habit. It was too quick, too much prepared for Sousuke’s taste.
“You didn’t ask me anything, I am the one who told you…err…”
“Tachibana. Makoto Tachibana. And you are?”
“Oda Yuuki. Nice to meet you.”
My conversations with him allowed me to know a bit more than with my past observations. He likes taking a walk around the boat so that his legs wouldn’t feel too heavy. He hates to be stuck in his little cabin. He has two younger siblings he visited in Tokyo for their birthday. He moved to the United States in the hope of getting a better job after his best friend succeeded there as well. This friend’s name is Haruka Nanase. No apparent link between him and the general army. I will keep an eye on him though as Tachibana seemed to be quite close to this man.
In his cabin, there was nothing of importance. It seemed like the only purpose of his trip was really to celebrate his sister and brother’s birthdays. There were clothes and some money only, almost no papers except for few written messages of his family and his identity cards. [Matching information with the report.]
His flower shop has grown quite popular since the last war “unfortunately” [his words]. He likes his job nonetheless. I need to know more about the flower language as it seemed to be the key of this mission. Whether Tachibana passes messages through it consciously or not is not my job. I am going to visit his work place soon.
For the moment I keep track of his regular clients and look after them without he notices me. My place is a little studio. It had all I need to live in it. I have assisted to my first class in university few days ago. No one suspects the reason why I am here.
---------------------------
“It smells nice.”
“Oda-san! Welcome! I’m glad you could find some time to visit me.”
Makoto wore an apron and let his bouquet to greet his new acquaintance. They hadn’t met since that time on the boat but judging by the great time they had together, the florist was impatient for his visit. They were about the same age and quickly got well. He knew
SousukeOda was going in the US to study in one of the best university of the world. Despite the surely harsh schedule, he had promised him to visit his shop as they shared their mutual addresses on their farewell day –few weeks from now. Makoto had been looking out each time he heard the bell rang in expectation to see the tall dark haired man.“I told you I would come. I need some flowers for my grandparents’ grave as well.” Oda had explained his grandparents lived there but before his travel, he had learnt their deaths in a terrible accident. Makoto had felt bad for him, knowing far too well how awful it was to lose someone like this.
“Of course, I would give you the most beautiful ones.” Heading towards one specific part of his shop, Oda couldn’t even see him correctly among the entire flora. It was almost a forest with beautiful and stunning various colors. When Makoto arrived back with chrysanthemum, he couldn’t help a little chuckle as those teal eyes looked amazed. “Do you like the decoration?”
“It really is beautiful. I can understand why you’re so proud of your shop.” Oda smiled and despite receiving a lot of praises, this one was able to mess up with his heart. The florist’s cheeks were burning him and he would surely need to pass some cold water on his face to recover a natural hue. Thankfully the student continued talking without even laughing at his stupid blush. “How much is it?” He wondered pointing at the bouquet.
“It’s on the house.” Makoto smiled, his redness slightly toning down due to the change of subject. Before Oda could protest, he added few more words to convince him to accept. “You entertained me during our trip. It was really fun with you unlike the going travel. They aren’t that expensive besides.”
Oda nodded as he took them, he wouldn’t mention in his report that the reason why he did so was because of those gorgeous pleading green eyes.

June 27th 19XX. 1:10 A.M.
I started learning the language of flower with Tachibana and in a nearby library. The possibilities seemed endless and sharing information with flowers seemed to be possible. Moreover few soldiers [in their civilian clothes] entered his shop few days ago. They bought a bouquet with white and red roses. According to my studies they could mean unity, secrecy, pure.
They placed it on one grave in the graveyard on the next morning. As Tachibana had mentioned, his shop flourished due to the war. However it is not obvious if the messages transmitted by flowers are of any importance for our country. I will look after more proofs as well as looking for the receiving person.
My relationship with Tachibana grew quite a lot. I was able to check his personal place above the shop. It isn’t that bigger than my place but he seemed to not mind this lack of space. Most of his money go to his siblings he supports here. He keeps a track of all his clients –I took few pictures of it before he came back. I will be checking all the unusual orders as well as the clients. It will take me a while.
-----------------------
“Thank you so much for looking after the shop. I am sure you had a lot of more important things to do and here I was asking you another favor…” Makoto kept looking down.
“I did not mind. Besides the flowers are a beautiful company.” Oda told him as he was starting to tidy some papers. It looked like he was doing some of his homework.
“They are, yes.” Makoto sat by his side as it seemed no one entered the shop today.
“Did you manage to see your friend before he left the country?”
“Ah yes! Haru hadn’t expected for me to not receive his letter. I’m glad he sent another one even if our farewell was short. It was better than nothing.”
Haruka was going back to Japan for few weeks for his job, Makoto was going to miss him but he was going to be all right. He wasn’t alone besides he had –
A sudden blush crept into his cheeks as he realized what he was going to think. It seemed like the student by his side had slowly become more important in his life than he expected. They were seeing each other for few minutes but their meetings were often due to the fact his shop was on the way to the university.

September 12nd 19XX. 11:43 P.M.
After spending 2 months by Makoto’s side, it seems like the doubts are founded. In fact, there are orders from the army who clearly use the flower language to give messages. However, I am pretty sure Makoto is not aware of this.
My feelings for him are not biasing my judgement. No matter what I feel, I can clearly see him as innocent in this story. However, the soldiers use him to place the doubts on his person instead of them. They would use fake reasons and fake identities to order the flowers they would need.
I received one as well. I know what it means. A monkshood. A deadly foe is near. The army knows I am here and are aware of my presence here. This is why I could not write more reports. I need to come back to Japan for my safety.
--------------------------------
“Makoto…” Sousuke had been weak. He had not been able to tell anything to his lover… Or was he? What were they? They had been in this weird relationship. Or more like he had been in a weird position. Makoto loved another one.
He loved Oda Yuuki. Not Sousuke Yamazaki. He had loved someone who wasn’t him. All he had left for him was a letter hidden in Makoto’s flower shop. He didn’t want his followers to find it. He had placed it next to the gloxinia. Love at first sight.
Never had Sousuke been able to be true in his reports. He knew this, he had fallen for this innocent boy. And it seemed like it would be his only love as the bullet pierced through his body. The soldiers had found him before he could reach safety.
His last thought was for Makoto. He wished he could have told him the truth himself and not a stupid paper. But hopefully, the florist would forget him, forget this awful spy who had lied to him about everything except for his devotion.
