Bonus Round 5: Myth & Lore
This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on August 4 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.
RULES
- This round does not have prompts. Instead, we ask you to draw inspiration from the wide pool of mythology, fantasy, folklore, and fable. An urban fantasy or supernatural AU? A re-imagining of your favorite folk tale? Characters swapping ghost stories or playing D&D? As long as your fill in some way incorporates the fantastical and/or supernatural, it's welcome here.
- Your fill still has to be about a ship from one of our nominated fandoms. What ships you create work for is up to you, though.
- To submit your fill, simply leave it as a comment as a reply to this post.
- Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
FORMAT
Bonus round shenanigans all happen in the comments below. Brand-new works only, please.Required Work Minimums:
- 400 words (prose)

- 14 lines (poetry)

FILL: TEAM IWAIZUMI HAJIME/OIKAWA TOORU, T

467 words, brain farts SASO AU part 2 (this goes out to everyone on SASO TL, you know who you are)
Oikawa thunks his head onto his laptop’s keyboard.
“380 words!” He groans. “I just need another 20 words to make this fill legit!”
“Then, get on with those 20 words,” Iwaizumi simply points out, matter-of-fact as usual. He peers over Oikawa’s shoulder and cringes once he (somewhat) makes sense of what the other boy has been furiously typing out over the last thirty minutes. “Is this some kind of magical AU again?”
“No, Iwa-chan!” Oikawa facepalms. “Well, actually yes, it is a magical AU, but not just any magical AU, this one has—“
“Dragonfucking?’ Hanamaki pipes up from Oikawa’s bed, casually flicking through his collection of shoujo manga while cuddling one of Oikawa’s prized posessions: a Moogle plushie. It looks decidedly squashed in his arms. “Tentacle porn?”
And where ever Hanamaki snarks, Matsukawa is never far behind. “Eggs? Magical vibrating eggs?”
Oikawa closes his eyes with the air of a man resigned to a fate that constantly repeats his dark history. “That was one time, Mattsun, just one time. Let me live it down.”
“Or, you could just abandon any sort of dignity and throw in oviposition as well. It’s always good to have some variety in your daily egg content, no?”
Iwaizumi immediately makes to leave the room but Oikawa hangs onto him by the waist, refusing be abandoned in the wake of the terrors that are their two other boyfriends. “No, you don’t, you can’t just leave me to these wolves!”
“Rawr,” Hanamaki punctuates helpfully. He even raises a hand in a paw-like gesture.
“That’s a very inspiring impersonation of a dinosaur, not a wolf,” Matsukawa corrects, and goes on to let out a baleful howl that sends Iwaizumi and Oikawa clapping their hands over their ears. “There we go.”
The vein on Iwaizumi’s forehead becomes all the more prominent, and he hisses towards Oikawa, “Look, just finish your magical AU thing ASAP so we can get out of here, and go somewhere safe!”
“But today’s the last day for this bonus round! I don’t wanna waste time outside when I can just post more fills!” Oikawa shoots back, indignation written all over his face. He grits his teeth. “I need to push my team forward as much as I can!”
“This is just a bloody fandom thing, why are you so—“
“Whoa, whoa, chill,” Hanamaki says as he rolls off Oikawa’s bed and pulls them into a group hug. “Make peace, not war.”
“Unless it’s a word war.” Matsukawa grins and joins in, purposely squeezing them all so hard until Iwaizumi whacks him continuously on the arm, desperately insisting to be released for oxygen.
Oikawa despairs, “You’re both terrible! Now, let me go!”
Hanamaki and Matsukawa share matching smirks.
“Write a werewolf AU based on us and maybe we’ll think about it.”
