Bonus Round 6: Remixes
This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on August 18 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.
RULES
- Choose a fanwork created by other participants in a previous main or bonus round of SASO and create a new piece based on it. You could create a fanart of another work, an FST inspired by a piece’s style, retell another person’s fanfic from another point of view, create a new fanfic inspired by a great piece of art... go wild!
- You cannot remix your teammates' works.
- You must have permission from the original creator. There's a blanket permissions post here (feel free to add yourself to it!), or you can leave a comment on their original post asking for permission.
- You must include the dreamwidth link to the original work in your post.
- Since all fills are based on previous works, there will be no prompts for this round. Simply post your fill as a comment in response to this post.
- Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
FORMAT

A remix of
“Kaidou, are you in here? Have you seen my…?”
Inui enters the clubroom, only to see a flash of pale teal flourish in the air and then disappear behind Kaidou’s back. Kaidou is looking at him, wide-eyed and shocked, a hint of guilt in his features.
“Senpai…”
Inui crosses his arms, both because he’s considering the situation and also because, well… he’s cold. “Kaidou, have you seen my jacket?”
Kaidou balks, the line of his shoulders tightening as he shifts backwards with his hands still hidden behind him. “Umm… No, senpai…”
Inui frowns and squints behind his glasses. Kaidou has many good qualities — a skilled athlete, loyal, good at taking commands — but he’s not without flaws. Chiefly, he’s a terrible liar.
“Kaidou, what are you hiding?”
Kaidou tenses. “I… I’m not…”
“Probability that you are hiding something is one hundred percent. Your stance is tense and defensive, your heart rate and respiration has shot up far more than the normal ranges for the increase that typically happens when I enter the room, and you were holding something in your hands when I came in and you have literally not let me see your hands since then.”
“I…”
Inui takes a step forward, looming over him. “Kaidou.”
Kaidou lets out a sigh that sounds like a second cousin to a hiss and his shoulders slump. “I… I wanted it to be a surprise.”
He slowly pulls his arms out from behind his back, and one hand is fisted in Inui’s jacket. But it’s holding more than that, Inui realizes as he watches. Green thread is pierced through the back of the jacket, a needle still dangling off of it from emerald thread. In Kaidou’s other hand is a spool of thread. Inui can’t quite make out what’s become of his jacket, despite seeing all the individual pieces.
“Kaidou?”
Kaidou rearranges the jacket, holding it out so the Inui can see the back of it entirely. Inui’s eyes sweep over it, following the twists and curls of the coiled snake embroidered across the back.
“You did this?” Inui asks.
Kaidou nods, looking away.
“It looks… incredible,” Inui says. The detail work is immaculate.
“It’s not done yet,” Kaidou mutters.
Inui walks over, grabbing the jacket gently. He doesn’t so much take it from Kaidou, just slips it out of one hand so that he can slide into it. Kaidou’s hand is still fisted weakly on one shoulder.
“Fits just as well as it did before too.”
Kaidou nods, looking up at him a bit surprised.
“You should finish it,” Inui says. He turns, and is vaguely conscious of the needle still dangling behind him somewhere.
Kaidou reaches out, plucking the needle from the air, and rests one hand on Inui’s back. Inui thinks Kaidou might be shaking slightly. “Finish it? Senpai, you’re… wearing it though…”
Inui grins, looking back over his shoulder. “It’s alright, Kaidou. I trust you.”
If anything, this makes Kaidou look more terrified.
