Bonus Round 6: Remixes

The event's almost over, and you've made it this far, congrats! This round encourages you to look back at everything the SASO has made and use it as inspiration.

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on August 18 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.

RULES

• Choose a fanwork created by other participants in a previous main or bonus round of SASO and create a new piece based on it. You could create a fanart of another work, an FST inspired by a piece’s style, retell another person’s fanfic from another point of view, create a new fanfic inspired by a great piece of art... go wild!
• You cannot remix your teammates' works.
• You must have permission from the original creator. There's a blanket permissions post here (feel free to add yourself to it!), or you can leave a comment on their original post asking for permission.
• You must include the dreamwidth link to the original work in your post.
• Since all fills are based on previous works, there will be no prompts for this round. Simply post your fill as a comment in response to this post.
• Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

Required Work Minimums:

• 400 words (prose)
• 400px by 400px (art)
• 14 lines (poetry)

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many fills as you want!

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

remix of underscored's fill

Kuroo is overthinking things again.

Kenma can tell, as they lie with their backs against each other in Kuroo's single bed. He's had years and years' worth of experience at this sort of thing; he can tell when Kuroo is getting lost in his own thoughts, when his doubts begin to creep up on him, and its frustrating because he's the last person in the world who needs to doubt himself.

He's seen it clouding Kuroo's expression lately. Especially when Kuroo doesn't think that Kenma can see, and he doesn't know what's more frustrating: the fact that Kuroo doesn't expect him to pick up on it, or the fact that Kuroo probably doesn't even realise just how much he's doubting himself at all. He knows what it's about, but he knows that it's not the kind of thing that he can just bring up on his own. He has to wait until Kuroo is ready to talk about it, because otherwise he isn't going to accept a single thing that Kenma tells him.

Kenma will have to be patient and at the very least, he can spend his time waiting like this, lying in Kuroo's bed in his Kyoto apartment, content in the fact that they're close to each other, that they will be for the entire summer. It gives them enough time to figure things out between them, and as much as Kenma is prepared to wait for Kuroo to be ready, he's already decided that he's not heading home to Tokyo without clearing the air between them and making sure that they're on the same page.

At the very least, he doesn't think that it's going to come to that. He can feel the way Kuroo is shifting around on the bed, the way he always does when he's thinking a little too hard, or when he's trying to decide whether he wants to say something.

Kenma stares at the wall, just feeling the way Kuroo is squirming beside him, and wonders if he should break the silence. Kuroo takes his hand, and perhaps he's building up to something. Perhaps Kenma should just bite the bullet and say something first, so that they can at least have the conversation that has been hanging over their heads for the past few weeks. Despite what Kuroo fears, Kenma knows that it isn't going to be a bad conversation. There's nothing to be afraid of.

He hears Kuroo sigh softly, and Kenma bites his lip. Kuroo squeezes Kenma's hand, and then rolls over onto his back. Kenma groans. He's tired of waiting.

"Stop moving around so much," he begins, frowning a little. "You're making it hard to sleep. You aren't jacking off, are you?"

The rest, as Kuroo says later when he's recounting the entire thing to Bokuto with a self-deprecating smile, is history.
