Bonus Round 1: AUs

AUs

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

This popular round is back once again! To begin this year's SASO, we encourage you to let your mind run wild with alternate ideas and settings.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES
  • Submit prompts by commenting to this post with an alternate universe idea, along with a ship from one of our nominated fandoms. There's a comment template below for your convenience.
    • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Izumi & Sakaeguchi). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Izumi/Sakaeguchi). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
  • An AU can be a canon divergence, e.g. "what if [character] was the Team Captain instead of the canon captain character?", or a completely different setting altogether, e.g., pop idol AU, coffee shop AU, superheroes AU, etc.
  • Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post).

I find Yui + dolphins is too aesthetic to even try to justify why she can work with them as a highschooler so let's just..... all play along and pretend this is possible and reasonable sorry thanks o/-<

***

Did it count as a date if she works there? Kiyoko wondered once again, had been since she stumbled unto the girls volleyball team captain. An argument against, since they hadn’t planned on seeing each other, and Kiyoko hadn’t even known Yui worked there.

Then again, she did randomly give her the entry ticket just a week ago. And enthusiastically advised her to go on a Saturday around 10.

(The way she lit up when she caught sight of Kiyoko, shamelessly running to greet her is what sparkled the question. Only after eliciting a longing for her smile to be directed at her in such a situation, that is.)

“The dolphin’s show is about to start!”, is what Yui had said as ways of greeting. And then ushered her in the proper direction, never once stopping her vivacious chattering about how she was so happy to see her there, how they had to hurry, how she really, really hoped she’d like it, how she had to go back to work now but they’d talk after the show, I’ll be seeing you!

I’ll be seeing you sure was one way to put it, Kiyoko thought as she saw Yui ride on the back of two dolphins, the public erupting in laughs when Yui slipped and fell. Did she mention that the trick was performed after an introduction that went along the lines of “that feeling you get when you see the person you like”?

Because, of course, the show had a theme.

It had something to do with love, for some reason, and so far had included two dolphins who were supposedly sweethearts sharing kisses, dancing, jumping in ways that seemed to form heart arches with Yui in the middle of them, among other things.

“For our next trick, we’ll need a volunteer! Hmm, let’s see — Oh! The pretty lady in the white dress, yes! Please approach the pool!”

White dress? Ah— Kiyoko stood and did as instructed, offering Yui a very small smile once they were face to face.

“I didn’t know you had a job like this”, whispered Kiyoko, voice kind and gaze attentive. Yui let out an embarrassed laugh, a prelude to her upcoming words.

“I wanted to surprise you. Did you like it?”

“ —shy boy, so he may need help from his trainer! Let’s sheer for him, everyone!”, said the narrator, unaware and unconcerned by the small exchange. Following the cue, Yui turned to face the dolphin.

“Give her a kiss! Kiss!”, she said, making a kissing sound against the back of her hand and motioning at Kiyoko. The dolphin approaches her, like he’s going to peck her cheek, then—

Turns around, clicking and ‘hiding’ against Yui.

“Aww! He got self-conscious!” The public laughed and clapped, charmed by the little act. “But why though? He gets kisses from a pretty girl all the time after all! His trainer! Right, Yui? Maybe give him some confidence?”

Yui whistled at the dolphin, this time making kissing sounds against the tip of her fingers. The dolphin approaches her and pecks at her lips, after which it does a small twirl (that splashes water everywhere) and steals another. Kiyoko only catches herself laughing when her eyes fall back on Yui, her smile delighted around the edges.

Yui then instructs the dolphin to go Kiyoko’s way with a single hand motion, holding her gaze as he approached the other and pressed it’s rostrum against her lips.

The crowd erupts in coos and applauses, all meant as praise for the shy boy who was currently very happily performing bows without direction.

“Can I buy you a coffee after this?”, Kiyoko said just a little more rushed than intended, aware that Yui still had to close the show.

She sees more than hears Yui’s ‘of course’, the captain already swimming off to perform a few bows of her own. She thinks a promise to show her around was added somewhere in there too, but maybe she just misread a command for the dolphins.

Does it count as date if she works here? Who knows. Maybe she’d ask her later. After all if they both agreed to it, it’d be easier to make it count.
