SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

This popular round is back once again! To begin this year's SASO, we encourage you to let your mind run wild with alternate ideas and settings.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES

Submit prompts by commenting to this post with an alternate universe idea, along with a ship from one of our nominated fandoms. There's a comment template below for your convenience.
- Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Izumi & Sakaeguchi). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Izumi/Sakaeguchi). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
An AU can be a canon divergence, e.g. "what if [character] was the Team Captain instead of the canon captain character?", or a completely different setting altogether, e.g., pop idol AU, coffee shop AU, superheroes AU, etc.
Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

The day of Naruko's inauguration, Imaizumi wakes up to a quiet estate. He's gotten accustomed to the silence in his childhood and in the months of house arrest following his return to Konoha, but it's still weird to wake up to an empty bed and dirty dishes in the sink. Imaizumi tsks. He almost misses Kaburagi and Danchiku's constant presence outside of his home, not that the ANBU guards ever spoke to him without Naruko's goading.

Imaizumi washes up and cleans the dishes methodically while keeping an eye on the clock. At four, Miki appears at his doorstep. For once, she's not wearing her hospital scrubs and is donning the Kanzaki Clan uniform. Nowadays, she looks more like Tsunade's heir and less like the schoolgirl who used to fawn over his chakra signature. "Are you ready?" She asks upon finding Imaizumi glancing through a scroll.

"Are you my escort?" Imaizumi asks, already standing up. "I don't need a bodyguard."

Miki just hums. Her hair is shorter now, falling just to her shoulders to contrast the blue of her forehead protector. Not that Imaizumi will ever comment on it. "It's for old times' sake. Everyone is waiting for us at the fountain."

Sure enough, they find most of their genin class near the newly rebuilt fountain. Miki flocks immediately to Tachibana Aya, leaving Imaizumi to make small talk with Sugimoto. It's weird to interact with these people from his past and having to accept that they'll continue to be a part of his future. Oddly enough, Imaizumi feels a twinge of pain in his phantom arm-- a sure indicator something ridiculous will soon happen.

As if on cue, the balcony door to the hokage tower bursts open with red smoke as confetti rains down on the crowd. It's August, and the mass of people gathered in the plaza to celebrate the inauguration exceeds Imaizumi's expectations. Around them, adults laugh and children try to catch bits of confetti. Imaizumi's eyes, however, never move from the balcony.

"KAKAKA!" Naruko howls when the smoke finally disperses. He looks radiant in that red and orange Hokage cape, and even more dignified with the row of village elders lined around him. At the end of the line stands Onoda, looking equally proud and overwhelmed since his appointment as Naruko's adviser. "Thanks for coming, everyone!"

Imaizumi tunes out the rest of the speech and focuses on key points instead: a child sitting on his father's shoulder while wearing a miniature hokage cape, villagers in red wigs in tribute to Naruko, and Koga looking on proudly. Through it all, the itching in his phantom arm continues. He doesn't pay attention again until the crowd starts roaring again, the sound of Konoha's instrumental band filling whatever space is left in the crowded plaza.

Afterwards, Imaizumi gets dragged to dinner. Everyone in the village seems to want ramen in celebration, so they squeeze into the back of an izakaya while Imaizumi stares at the ceiling. When Teshima and Aoyagi arrive, Imaizumi is tricked into a conversation with Teshima about the academy's redesign of the genjutsu curriculum.

The star of the show doesn't appear until hours later, when everyone but Imaizumi has drank their weight in beer. "Sorry for the wait!" Naruko howls while throwing himself into the nearest empty seat. "Everyone and their cousin want to talk to me, yanno!" Today, Naruko is flanked by ANBU guards wearing dolphin and shark masks.

"Congrats, Hokage-sama," Teshima says slyly, and this sets off another round of toasts. They don't stop until the izakaya has emptied, and even Naruko is unsteady on his feet.

"How did you get beaten by Tachibana? She started drinking hours ago," Imaizumi says as Naruko throws an unsteady arm over his shoulder. The trek back is taking too long, what with Naruko drunkenly greeting everyone he sees. The ANBU guards are no help.

Naruko buries his face in Imaizumi's shoulder as they turn the corner. "Water distilling justsu. That's her-" He hiccups. "Clan secret."

This makes Imaizumi pause as they finally approach the estate. Once they're at the door, the guards jump for the roof and make themselves scarce, almost as if they're expecting Naruko to push Imaizumi into the nearest wall and kiss him hungrily. Well, Imaizumi thinks belatedly as he tastes Naruko's beer on his tongue, at least the guards have experience.

"I'm Hokage now!" Naruko breathes into Imaizumi's nose, his face flushed with excitement. The bandaged hand held up by Naruko's chakra is firm on the small of Imaizumi's back. "I said I would do it. I did it!"

"Congratulations."

Naruko's voice is warm and affectionate as his mouth lands on Imaizumi's neck. "You made things hard for me, Hotshot! But I did it."

"Yes, you did." Imaizumi carefully maneuvers them towards the couch, but Naruko just laughs and pulls them both down. He doesn't flinch when Naruko's hand grazes Imaizumi's bad shoulder, but he does look up when Naruko lets out a breath of relief. "What?"

Naruko grins. "My hand has been twitching all day. Did you miss me?"

"There is no correlation between those two statements," Imaizumi says, even though his face is already heating up.

"Onoda-kun said a part of your chakra is probably embedded in this." Naruko raises his bandaged hand and moves his fingers thoughtfully. "You're stuck with me now."

Imaizumi looks from Naruko's face to the large but hastily arranged space of the home they now share. He feels his lips move and sees Naruko smile back at him. "I've been stuck with you forever."
