Bonus Round 1: AUs

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).


This popular round is back once again! To begin this year's SASO, we encourage you to let your mind run wild with alternate ideas and settings.


Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES

• Submit prompts by commenting to this post with an alternate universe idea, along with a ship from one of our nominated fandoms. There's a comment template below for your convenience.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Izumi & Sakaeguchi). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Izumi/Sakaeguchi). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
• An AU can be a canon divergence, e.g. "what if [character] was the Team Captain instead of the canon captain character?", or a completely different setting altogether, e.g., pop idol AU, coffee shop AU, superheroes AU, etc.
• Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
• Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

IKR. Also imagine the Generation just being called Miracles and being this amazing superhero team and Kagami's the new kid on the block who has to PROVE himself and he has a temper so occasionally gets into trouble for roughing criminals up more than necessary and Hanamiya is a vicious supervillian super sadist and Haizaya used to be part of the team but got kicked out and just O:SJDA;jD SO MUCH POTENTIAL for this world.

I can see Haizaki as kind of like Jason Todd (although my baby Jason WOULD NEVER)?? Like maybe he was being dumb and reckless and then'died' --- and was immediately replaced on the team with Kise, who everyone liked better and got along with well. And then he comes back with a dumb helmet haircut and a thirst for REVENGE. OK WELL I'M OFF TO PROMPT THIS AS WELL.

If Haizaki stuck to beating up rapists and scum, then it'd be fine! He could be Jason!

Urrrrgh. Now I want everyone thinking Kuroko is dead when he's just standing there going unnoticed while they search for his body. And he's a little dazed so he joins in the search and then eventually thinks to ask "GUys? Who are we looking for?"

MY POOR BABY KUROKO. Now everyone thinks he has spooky ghost powers??? He doesn't have spooky ghost powers, it's just that half the team is DEADLY AFRAID OF GHOSTS.

SO IS KIRIHARA FROM PRINCE OF TENNIS. IMAGINE HIM MEETING KUKURO. But you should totes prompt "the AU where everyone keeps thinking he's a ghost" so I can write poor Kuroko trying to convince them he's alive when everyone's too scared to get near him to take his pulse.

YOSH! I love this. Had no idea I'd find another Batfam peep in a sports anime event. Amazing.

Right?! Jason was smart and he cared so much about the people Gotham. And he died as a hero, damn it. A HERO trying to save the mom that had betrayed him!

FUN FACT. Before this event, I'd only ever seen the LL anime and YOI, then Lira suggested that I join SASO and all I'd have to do was watch one more sports anime.

I REALLY LOVE JASON. I HAVE A LEGO FIGURE OF HIM. Jason was angry, sure, and may have pushed a rapist off a roof but ffs, it's not like he doesn't have a point. Someone that's dead is never going to rape anyone else again and Gotham does have a revolving door problem.

But god, wait, let me find my favorite Jay quotation:

Jason Todd: Why? I'm not talking about killing Penguin or Scarecrow or Dent. I'm talking about *him*, just him. And doing it because... because he took me away from you.

That bit about 'he took me away from you' killed me when I read it in the comics (I have the TBP) and when I saw it in the movie, it was just like. Oh. Oh. My heart.

LOL, wow your sports anime journey is a lot like mine, although you went way harder than I did. YOI was my first anime in a long, long time, and after it was over, I jumped over to Free! And then got distracted by a lot of non-sports animes. (My fave of those being Kids on the Slope and No. 6. I'm really into listening to Hosoyan yelling at things!!)

I just finished KnB and I'm watching DAYS and hyperventilating over the purity of its protagonist. I thought Haikyuu!! was super cute, but I'm not too into volleyball. I'm thinking of trying The Prince of Tennis next.

But usually I'm into comics and old British lit and Tolkien. It's been a weird couple of months for me.

Yes, Jason! And the reason he (may have) pushed that rapist off the roof was because that guy was never going to face justice, right? I mean, c'mon, Batman.

I think my favorite Jason quote is: "Being Robin gives me magic!" Even if that was pre-crisis Jason, it's essentially still Jason tho.

I always go super, super hard. When I decided to do SASO, I crowdsourced which anime have the most prompts made and watched those specifically so I could do lots of BR fills.I haven't heard of Kids on the Slope or No. 6 but now I am curious about DAYS, whatever that might be!

Prince of Tennis is SO GOOD, it is legit my favorite of all the sports series. There is a huge variety of chars, some really funny dialogue and fantastic episodes, plenty of Ho-Yay and the main char is actually a snarky, amazing brat instead of a pure-hearted baby who is new to the sport.

...AWw yiss, I did so much Silmarillion RP and some really nice edits for Mairon/Melkor. Also if we're talking old British lit, I don't suppose you're a fan of Saki? :D Or are we thinking even older?

Awww. Yes. But ooh, I also like his Red Hood quote where he tosses down the duffel bag full of heads and is all I did that in a couple of hours. Imagine what I could do in a whole afternoon.
