Bonus Round 1.5: AUs

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).


Second verse, same as the first! This is an overflow post for br1, meant to hold new prompts and their fills (so that we don't hit comment cap on the first br post).

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES

• Submit prompts by commenting to this post with an alternate universe idea, along with a ship from one of our nominated fandoms. There's a comment template below for your convenience.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Izumi & Sakaeguchi). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Izumi/Sakaeguchi). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
• An AU can be a canon divergence, e.g. "what if [character] was the Team Captain instead of the canon captain character?", or a completely different setting altogether, e.g., pop idol AU, coffee shop AU, superheroes AU, etc.
• Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
• Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

• 14 lines (poetry)

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

prologue. Until the Night is Over - Timber Timbre

And I saw it as the house caught fire
And I saw it when the thief got brave

Haruichi's life fell apart in this house. He should want to sell it, but it's hard to say goodbye when he's sure his brother must still be in there, somehow.

He puts the house up for sale. It'll be many more years before anyone comes calling.


1. Legs Away - Mother Mother

An old man in a pickup truck
Says, "son are you out of luck?"
And I nod my head
I say my day is spent and my spirit's dead

Kuramochi's close to giving up when by chance he comes across a listing for an old seaside house. The seller is skittish and won't meet his eyes. Kuramochi takes the risk. It's cheap and it'll clean up nice. He'll easily make bank on it.


2. In Circles - Darren Korb

Instrumental

Work gets undone: new plaster has scratches in it the next morning, pipes get torn out, curtains ripped down, lights turn on and off seemingly at their own will. Kuramochi has never dealt with such a nightmare house before.


3. In the Cold, Cold Night - The White Stripes

Meanwhile, Ryousuke is having a great time.


4. Dangerous - Big Data

Kuramochi can finally see Ryousuke.

They get to know each other. They work on the house together. They come closer to the truth of what happened in the past. They realize there's still trouble.


5. Anyone's Ghost (Silver Swans) - The National

Didn't want to be your ghost
Didn't want to be anyone's ghost

Haruichi comes by for a visit. Finally he can see Ryousuke too. Haruichi is hurt that it took so long. The brothers have a long talk.

Haruichi leaves with a warning about a storm.

(Hey, Ryou-san didn't you say there was a storm the night before you...?)


6. Le Blizzard - Malajube

SCREAMS I'M DYING THIS IS SO CLEVER AND NEAT??? i read the annotations at 6am in the bathroom half awake and then proceeded to howl about it until i fell back asleep basically and i'm typing this as the last track plays and holy shit????? THIS IS SO GOOD AND I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS is the house sentient does it eat souls WHO SOLD THEIR SOUL TO SATAN how did u manage to BREAK MY HEART WITH A MIX ahhhhHHHHHHH. also i've never heard that cover of anyone's ghost and it's so haunting... really good musical choices to tell this story this is so good ps i'm fuckin incoherent afjsekel

FIRST OF ALL i realized i put the wrong version of the third song so if you listened to it on 8tracks and were wondering why the notes said instrumental but you were hearing WORDS that's why

yeah i was thinking the house was sentient! and like.. tied to the weather i guess??? i was kind of unsure about whether to include the line about satan but i'm gonna own it now and say RYOUSUKE MADE A DEAL WITH A DEMON THAT INVOLVES THE HOUSE IN SOME WAY AND NOW HE REGRETS IT :D

this cover of anyone's ghost is my fave ;; thank you for the comment i'm really really glad you liked it, making a (fan)mix is tricky because everyone's taste in music is so different but piecing a story together like this is a lot of fun \\o//
