Bonus Round 2: Tic-Tac-Toe

Tic-Tac-Toe

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

Get three in a row! That's the goal of this bonus round. Inspired by a fanwork event type called kink bingo, this round encourages you to create and fill out themed prompt cards.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. There's a lot of text here, but if you read carefully and follow the instructions step by step, you will be okay.

RULES
Please refer to the first comment thread of this post for an example of how this round works.

PROMPTING

  1. Select a ship to create your prompt card about. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Haruki & Kazuma). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Haruki/Kazuma). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!

  2. Visit this card generator.
    • Here is a visual guide to using it.
    • The large text box is where you can list prompts if you have your own ideas. Please list at least 9 prompts; you can list more if you want. (The generator says you need at least 24, but it's lying.) Single words or short phrases are better than sentences.
    • Otherwise, you can use the dropdown menu found right below it. Note: some of these prompts lists are NSFW. (NSFW prompts are a-ok as long as you tag for it.) If you don't like some of the options that appear in a prompt list, you can delete them.
    • Text prompts only, please. Also, each card square must be unique—don't list the same prompt 9 times.
    • In "Configuration Options," make sure you select 3x3 and (Normal prompt). This is the most important step!
    • Leave the tic-tac-toe card with its default colors, so everyone can read it clearly.
    • Click the "Create a bingo card" button.
    • Scroll down to see the card that was created for you. If you don't like the prompts it picked, you can reroll by clicking "Create a bingo card" again.
    • When you're satisfied, scroll further down the page until you see a textarea box full of HTML.
  3. Copy and paste the HTML from the box and into the body of your prompt comment, then post!

FILLING

Fill prompts by selecting an individual square to create fanwork for, then leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work. (Optional:) If you can fill three squares from a prompt in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line, you get a tic-tac-toe (and an additional point bonus)! You can also just fill prompts as you please and get standard points.
  • Prompt squares are labeled as follows:
    A1 B1 C1
    A2 B2 C2
    A3 B3 C3
  • If you're trying for tic-tac-toe, you cannot combine squares into one fill. If your fill can satisfy multiple squares, pick the most relevant square: e.g., one square is sailing and another is pirates and you make a fill about pirates sailing, it's mostly pirates so put down the pirates square.
  • Each fill must stand alone as an individual piece, but all your fills can slot into a larger universe if you'd like.
  • You cannot fill a prompt square more than once, but you can fill every square on a tic tac toe card if you want to.
  • You cannot work with your teammates to get a tic-tac-toe. Only individually achieved tic-tac-toes get the bonus.
  • Multiple people can fill the same prompt square. You cannot "block" others from getting tic-tac-toe.
  • Remember to also follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
  • Here is a prompt/fill index for your convenience.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points for each tic-tac-toe card (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each
Tic-tac-toe Bonus: 2 points each for the first 12 achieved by your team

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post).

***

It is not as romantic as the legends say. Ushijima, for one, misses the sun—the heat browning his arms after a day's work in the fields, the sweat on his brow a testament to his effort, and misses his plants, most of all. He had been a simple man, surrounding himself with things that needed to be cultivated to grow. The reward had been to see them flourish by his own hand, but now that he cannot venture outside in the daytime, he is limited to the potted plants that cover every available surface in his apartment. (If there truly exists a God, Ushijima would like to thank him for the ones that grow in the dark.)

The pitfalls of his predicament is not limited to a lack of vitamin D, which he doesn't even need anymore, but it is where most of his concerns lie. The windows must always be drawn and it is difficult to read in such a dim environment, not to mention how few his options are if he were in a mood to socialize.

But focusing merely on the negatives will not improve anything, so he does attempt to look at the metaphorical bright side. The social climate now has normalized the phenomenon compared to the hunts and inquisitions of old, so Ushijima does not have to be so secretive about what he is. Establishments enabling a co-existence with humans have begun to multiply, and inside them are humans who are—Ushijima will not say masochistic, but willing.

One such human is making eye contact with him now from across the bar where he is nursing a Type A, his favorite kind, as he surveys his prospects. He is grateful that he has found one so quickly, and more so because this one seems as eager as he is beautiful, with brown hair dyed by the colored lights and brown eyes that reflect them.

Ushijima makes his way over, and the human meets him halfway. Up close, the human's features are soft, but there's a sharpness in his eyes that Ushijima cannot look away from. Like hunger, tempered by discernment.

"Give me a smile, big guy," says the human, and Ushijima nearly frowns instead if he hadn't realized what is being requested of him.

"What is your name?" he says, which gives the human a view of the inside of his mouth. The human laughs, and here is one of the bright sides: Ushijima's clearer senses lets him hear it above the noise.

"Sorry about that. I had my suspicions, but I had to make sure." He holds out his hand in mock formality. "Oikawa Tooru, at your service. And you are?"

"Ushijima Wakatoshi," says Ushijima, purposely letting his fingertips skim over Oikawa's wrist as he takes his hand. His pulse is invitingly quick.

Something in Oikawa's grin turns feral at the gesture, which has Ushijima wondering which of them is truly in pursuit. "All right, Ushiwaka-chan, take me away."

Ushijima blinks at the nickname, but he does as Oikawa asks, pulling Oikawa to a shadowed corner and pinning him to the wall by his shoulders. Oikawa's incessant laughter rings in Ushijima's ears like church bells to a sinner.

"Not even a dance? You're really single-minded, aren't you, Ushiwa—ah." The sigh is caused by Ushijima leaning in and sinking his fangs into the smooth flesh of his throat, lightly flecked with salt from the heat of the club.

Oikawa slackens underneath him, tiling his head back to give Ushijima better access; Ushijima responds in kind by wrapping an arm around Oikawa's waist, holding him flushed and tight against his own body to ensure he would not fall. It is partly for his own sake, because everything will slip his mind soon enough as the feeding makes him heady.

The blood that floods his mouth, Oikawa's blood, is thick and rich on his tongue, sweet despite the metallic undertones, but the quiet sounds Oikawa makes as Ushijima drinks from him is just a little sweeter. He apparently has enough bearings to lift a hand to Ushijima's nape, pressing down it as if to encourage him to bite down a little deeper, and Ushijima muses that there must be a touch of masochism involved after all.

It could not have been hours—he did not want to suck Oikawa dry—but it feels like it, and when Ushijima finally pulls away he is sated in more ways than one. Oikawa is pleasantly pink in the cheeks, visible even in the dark, and his eyes are lidded but no less sharp than earlier.

Ushijima parts his lips to speak, but Oikawa beats him to the punch, pulling him in again to connect their mouths, this time, licking inside Ushijima's mouth as if to taste his own blood.

"Not bad at all," says Oikawa against his lips, and the heat of him, in every sense, is intoxicating. "Same time next week?"

Ushijima ponders the proposition, deciding to reply, "sooner than that," before leaning in for another kiss, this one, somehow, even more wanting than the last.
