Bonus Round 2: Tic-Tac-Toe
Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. There's a lot of text here, but if you read carefully and follow the instructions step by step, you will be okay.
RULES
Please refer to the first comment thread of this post for an example of how this round works.PROMPTING
- Select a ship to create your prompt card about. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Haruki & Kazuma). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Haruki/Kazuma). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
- Visit this card generator.
- Here is a visual guide to using it.
- The large text box is where you can list prompts if you have your own ideas. Please list at least 9 prompts; you can list more if you want. (The generator says you need at least 24, but it's lying.) Single words or short phrases are better than sentences.
- Otherwise, you can use the dropdown menu found right below it. Note: some of these prompts lists are NSFW. (NSFW prompts are a-ok as long as you tag for it.) If you don't like some of the options that appear in a prompt list, you can delete them.
- Text prompts only, please. Also, each card square must be unique—don't list the same prompt 9 times.
- In "Configuration Options," make sure you select 3x3 and (Normal prompt). This is the most important step!
- Leave the tic-tac-toe card with its default colors, so everyone can read it clearly.
- Click the "Create a bingo card" button.
- Scroll down to see the card that was created for you. If you don't like the prompts it picked, you can reroll by clicking "Create a bingo card" again.
- When you're satisfied, scroll further down the page until you see a textarea box full of HTML.
- Copy and paste the HTML from the box and into the body of your prompt comment, then post!
FILLING
Fill prompts by selecting an individual square to create fanwork for, then leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work. (Optional:) If you can fill three squares from a prompt in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line, you get a tic-tac-toe (and an additional point bonus)! You can also just fill prompts as you please and get standard points.
- Prompt squares are labeled as follows:
A1 B1 C1 A2 B2 C2 A3 B3 C3 - If you're trying for tic-tac-toe, you cannot combine squares into one fill. If your fill can satisfy multiple squares, pick the most relevant square: e.g., one square is sailing and another is pirates and you make a fill about pirates sailing, it's mostly pirates so put down the pirates square.
- Each fill must stand alone as an individual piece, but all your fills can slot into a larger universe if you'd like.
- You cannot fill a prompt square more than once, but you can fill every square on a tic tac toe card if you want to.
- You cannot work with your teammates to get a tic-tac-toe. Only individually achieved tic-tac-toes get the bonus.
- Multiple people can fill the same prompt square. You cannot "block" others from getting tic-tac-toe.
- Remember to also follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each

Does not have to involve ice cream! If you have an idea inspired by the phrase or the flavor with no ice cream involved at all, that is TOTALLY FINE! <3 )

They had only been apart for three days, but it felt like ages to Yuri. Instead of having some down time between Worlds and their first expo tour like Yuri and Stupid Victor and Other Yuuri and everyone else Otabek had jetted back to Almaty for a week to coach a youth skating camp. It was disgustingly wholesome. Exactly the kind of thing that meant Otabek could fuck off to train in St. Petersburg and still be beloved in Kazakhstan. Completely ridiculous.
He was only five minutes past the time he expected Otabek to arrive at the hotel. He spotted his boyfriend across the lobby standing next to his luggage, holding a giant coffee cup and… swaying in place? The hell?!
Yuri marched up and grabbed him by the shoulder to examine him more closely, “Are you ok?”
Otabek blinked once slowly, “Yura, hey.” He sounded exhausted but he was tense under Yuri’s hands. “I had like five cups of coffee between Almaty and here. But I’m awake.” He sounded very proud of himself.
Yuri fought the urge to slap his head down into his hand. “And what, exactly, is in that very large cup?”
“A quad latte, I think. Could be a flat white but it’s Very strong. Victor gave it to me.”
Yuri narrowed his eyes, whipping around to spot the familiar flash of silver hair across the room. He stormed over as angrily as he could while gently tugging Otabek along with him.
“VICTOR! What did you do?!”
“Oh man, you’re in trouble. He just used only your actual name,” Yuuri added gleefully, and completely unhelpfully.
Victor’s eyes were wide and innocent, “He didn’t tell me that he was coming off a red eye while already jet lagged from another three time zones over! I was just trying to be nice!”
Yuri clearly wasn’t buying it, glaring his iciest glare while doing his best to steer Otabek away from walking into one of the lovely marble pillars in the lobby.
“Yuri,” Otabek nuzzled into his shoulder, “I think if I have another shot of espresso I can see time.”
“Ugh, you are useless.” He meant to sound angry but it ended up more on the side of exasperated affection. Otabek smiled fuzzily up at him.
“Here’s what’s going to happen. We are putting you straight to bed. You will sleep this evening and through the full night. I will make sure we have food on hand whenever you’re hungry. The Hero of Kazakhstan, honestly. Can’t even take care of yourself.”
Otabek hummed in agreement and let Yuri march him towards the elevators. Yuuri would make sure the hotel people took care of the bags. When they were safely in the elevator Yuri leaned down to kiss his ridiculous boyfriend. “And I’m hiding the hotel room coffee maker.”

It had been a terrible day for no particular reason. His favorite jogging route was blocked off for some kind of stupid street festival, he had broken a lace first thing and had to re-lace his entire left skate before getting on the ice, and he had tripped going into a triple loop and his knee was covered with what was promising to be a spectacular bruise.
A fucking triple?! Ugh.
And to top it all off Otabek stayed later to work on the cannonball spin he’d just decided to add to his short program so Yuri had to come home to an empty apartment. He really should be taking a hot bath or something. They had a nice enough bathtub but very few things lived up to the hot springs in Japan. He’d have to bitch at Yuuri about spoiling him forever next time they talked.
The bath could wait, he needed something more illicit. Something he definitely shouldn’t be having.
He was halfway through when he heard the front door open and close. Otabek toed off his shoes and changed into cozy house clothes before finally coming into the kitchen. He stretched up a bit to kiss Yuri’s cheek and raised an eyebrow questioningly.
“Are you-”
“Yes.”
“-making brownies,” Otabek finished with a chuckle.
“Absofuckinglutely, I am making brownies,” Yuri replied with finality.
Otabek leaned a hip against the counter and smiled indulgently, “I’m sure those aren’t on either of our approved nutrition plans.
“I assure you, I really don’t care. I’m totally prepared to make a whole pan, eat one and chuck the rest if I have to. That’s how badly I need a brownie right now.”
“I suppose that’s fair,” Otabek upped the ante on being unhelpful by running a hand through Yuri’s hair. “Though you’re going to have save two. If there are brownies I want one.”
It did feel pretty amazing though, he supposed he’d let it slide. “And people wonder why I love you.”
“I thought they just looked at pictures of my amazing abs. It’s pretty obvious,” Otabek deadpanned.
“False. We all have amazing abs.”
By the time Yuri finished the batter and got the pan truth into he was starting to feel better. He turned to his boyfriend with a small smile. “Forty-five minutes until diet wrecking deliciousness.”
Otabek gave him a wicked smirk, his dark eyes full of wicked promises, “If only we could find something to do for the next forty-five minutes.”
Yuri had a hand fisted in Otabek’s shirt collar and was pulling him in for a hot, wet kiss practically before he could finish his sentence.
Fuck yeah. Almost as good as brownies.

Yuri loved winning. He loved everything about it - the chill of the ice flying under his blades, the roar of the crowd cheering because he’s fucking amazing, the thrill of defying gravity for six minutes, the weight of the medal on his chest.
He’s sure he must have done something to celebrate each success before he and Otabek got together but it couldn’t possibly be as awesome as their tradition now.
“Yura~,” Otabek sing-songed, snapping his fingers trying to get his attention. “Where were you just now?”
Yuri smiled up from where he was splayed out on their hotel room bed. “Just thinking about how great winning is.”
Otabek chuckled, “Oh, is that all.”
“Specifically,” Yuri clarified, “how great it is to be skating with you. And winning. Both of us winning. Because we are awesome.”
“It can not possibly be denied that we are awesome,” Otabek agreed, leaning down to claim Yuri’s mouth in a brief, hot kiss. “After all, we have these shiny round things to prove it.”
“Stop being cute, Yuri griped, not quite able to keep the grin off his face.
“Now, Yura. I was trying to ask you a very serious and important question.”
“What,” Yuri whined, it couldn’t be as important as more kissing.
“What do you want for dessert?”
Oh yeah! That was kind of important. After every competition where they both competed and won they celebrated with the most rich, indulgent, decadent dessert they could find. Yuri grabbed the menu Otabek was dangling above his head and scanned it. Brownie sundae - boring, cheesecake? Nah, heavy and rich but not exactly what he wanted. Fruit cup?! Fuck that sideways. Ah, there it was.
“Milk chocolate genoise layered with praline mousse, topped with bourbon spiked caramelized bananas and spiced beurre noisette gelato.”
“That’s the one,” Otabek agreed instantly, rolling over to the phone to call for room service.
“And cocktails? Or champagne or something. Whatever the hell goes with all of that gorgeous sugar,” he added imperiously. Otabek smirked back at him over his shoulder.
An hour later the dishes and glasses were stacked on the room service cart and Yuri was enjoying the after effects of his well-earned sugar high. He was currently chasing the last taste of caramel in Otabek’s kiss, both their lips still slightly chilled from the final bites of gelato. Otabek moved suddenly, rolling them to press the length of Yuri’s body down into the cushiony mattress. Yuri wrapped his arms around Otabek’s neck, pulling him down to kiss. He was one hundred percent ready for a follow up dessert of an entirely different kind.
