Bonus Round 3: FSTs
Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.
RULES
- Submit prompts in the form of a short playlist (1-6 songs) and a ship from any of our nominated fandoms. Submit only the track listing and a link to where they can be listened to; the idea is for others to interpret what you present. You may also link to lyrics if you would like.
- Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Lilia & Sara). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Lilia/Sara). Please don't say "Any pairing," either.
- Create content based on the playlists of others! Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
- Fills may be in any form you choose (except for another FST of course) as long as they are inspired by/fit the mood of the soundtrack they are filling for.

For Haru, martial arts is all he's known. Growing up in a dojo, it's been a part of his life for as long as he can remember. His earliest memories all involve the dojo in some way: the first time he watched his sister compete, the day he earned his first belt, the first time he won a competition.
Even when he stops enjoying it, even when the pressure and stress outweigh the satisfaction, he sticks with it, because it's what he's always done, and who he is.
Hurting his shoulder is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it finally gives him permission to step back, step away. On the other hand, judo has been a core part of his identity for his entire life. Who is he without it?
When Kazu first comes to him with the flyers for a mens cheer team, he's not sure what to think. There was no reason for Kazu to quit judo too.
"It's no the same without you," Kazu says by way of explanation when Haru demands to know why he's given up something he was good at, and something he enjoyed. "I want to show you something new."
"Why cheer?" Haru asks.
Kazu shrugs. "There aren't many mens cheer teams around. It's a whole new world; it's not like judo where everything's already set. There's no one to tell us what to do, so we can make it our own."
Haru isn't sure he believes it, but he's willing to try, because it's Kazu. He takes the hand Kazu offers and lets Kazu pull him up. He joins in putting up signs and passing out flyers, but he's still not convinced.
He's even less convinced several weeks later as he looks at the team gathered on the rooftop. It's a ragtag group that Kazu's brought together. Shou alone probably has more experience than the rest of them combined, and Haru's not sure how they're ever going to compete against the likes of some of the teams he's seen.
It's with more than a little trepidation that he agrees to be the team's flyer. He's always been afraid of heights, but it's hard to resist the pull of Kazu's charm, and despite all of his uncertainties, he does want Kazu to succeed.
The first few attempts are shaky; Haru falters, and their formation crumbles. Then Kazu squeezes his hand. "I want to share the view with you," Kazu says. "It's a whole new world from up there."
If it's together with Kazu, Haru thinks he might be able to do it. He holds the feel of Kazu's hand on his in his mind as they try again.
Kazu was right. When Haru opens his eyes from the top of the formation on the top of the roof looking down on the city below, it's a brand new point of view, a perspective he never could have imagined.
He feels freer than he's ever felt before.

When Haru feels that he is weighed down from everything that he doesn't want to be, it's Kazu who fashions wings out of his broken dreams and teaches him how to fly. It only makes sense that they would fly together in every sense of the word, Haru thinks to himself after another long practice session. They've pushed themselves and they're all exhausted, but Kazu somehow finds energy in his reserves to encourage the rest of the team, giving them all detailed feedback on what they've done well and what they need to work on before their next group practice. He's amazing, Haru thinks to himself as he wipes the sweat off his face and drains half his bottle in one, long, gulp. He believes in everyone so fiercely, in a way he's started to believe in himself too, once he's realised that he has their support and that he always will.
"You're thinking hard," Kazu says with a smile as he walks over to Haru's side.
"Just wondering how you still have the energy to use your captain voice," Haru replies, and it earns him a laugh.
"Captain voice?"
"I'm serious," Haru replies falling in step with Kazu as they walk to the locker rooms. "Just a bit louder and brighter than usual, but it's different to your cheer voice."
Kazu laughs again but it's softer this time. The back of his neck is pink, when it wasn't just a moment ago, and so are his ears. "I didn't realise you paid that much attention to my voice, Haru."
In that moment, Haru sees every single option laid out plainly for him, and exactly where they would all lead. It's like he's been pulled out of his own body and is floating somewhere above them, able to see every thread at once.
One of the most important lessons Kazu has taught him recently is that there's no point in running any more. Haru takes a deep breath and simply replies with, "I do."
Kazu glances over at him, but then they step into the locker rooms, and it's not the right place for this conversation. Haru puts it on hold, and Kazu seems happy enough to do the same, until they've finished changing and are walking home together, which really means they're both on their way to Haru's house.
"Hey, when you said before that you…" Kazu begins, then tries laughing it off. "Never mind."
"I meant it," Haru replies boldly. "I think about your voice a lot. I think about you a lot."
Kazu stops in his tracks, taking a deep breath. "Haru—"
"I mean it," Haru says, willing Kazu to understand, because he doesn't know how else to say it.
He sees the realisation dawn in Kazu's eyes, and it's followed by the most brilliant smile Haru has ever seen. "Do you?"
Haru already knows how it feels to fly, and when he presses his lips to Kazu's for the very first time, he knows it's exactly that.

Haru trusts Kazu with his life. There is no doubt about it. But this-
“Ha-ru, don’t you trust me?” Kazu beams, arms wrapping around Haru’s waist.
“I do, and that’s the issue.”
Kazu laughs, leaning their foreheads together as Haru grabs for one of his hands. He can’t remember exactly how they got here outside of Kazu showing up at his house with tickets and coffee and a smile that Haru could never refuse. He was so weak when it came to Kazu and if there was a time to regret that, it would a hundred percent be now.
The tech checks their belts, tugging and tightening enough that Haru’s ever present anxiety creeps up again and Kazu squeezes their hands together in support.
“We’re going to give you a ten second countdown. Okay?”
Haru swallows thickly but nods as Kazu grins and echoes “Okay!” right back.
As they stand at the edge, Haru can feel his heart in his stomach and all the regrets in his life surface on his mind as the tech begins the countdown. He sends out a prayer to every deity he knows as well an apology to Haruko, his family, and the Breakers. He’s naming them all individually when Kazu tugs on his hand again, pulling his attention from the dizzy depths below to the safety of Kazu’s smile.
“Haruki. Fly.”
And it’s that simple as they fall off the edge together, speeding down toward the earth together like a meteorite split in two. Haru can hear Kazu’s laughter and it scares away all the fear he has. Never when they are practicing has he gotten a chance to see what Kazu looks like when he flies and when the cord jerks them back up, Haru’s heart has escaped his stomach and lodged itself in his throat at how free Kazu looks.
It reminds him of when they finally talked about their feelings, forcing out the words that neither of them were ever sure how to say. Haru had said that Kazu made him feel like he was always falling, stuck at terminal velocity with no end, and Kazu had laughed.
“Haruki,” He’d said, his voice the fondest that Haru had ever heard it, “Are you sure you don’t mean flying?”
Haru had corrected his science back then, but here, caught in the still moment between falling and flying, he wonders if Kazu was onto something.
When they stop bouncing and reach the ground, Haru is still a little dazed, but when he sees Kazu’s wide smile, he pulls him down for a kiss just to see if he can taste the freedom that flows through Kazu’s body.
“Haru?” Kazu asks when they part and Haru flicks his nose.
“I love you, Kazu, but I am never bungee jumping ever again.”
