Bonus Round 3: FSTs

FSTs

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

Profess your love for your favorite ships with the power of song! In this round, we ask you to create fan soundtracks and use them as inspiration for new fanwork.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.

RULES
  • Submit prompts in the form of a short playlist (1-6 songs) and a ship from any of our nominated fandoms. Submit only the track listing and a link to where they can be listened to; the idea is for others to interpret what you present. You may also link to lyrics if you would like.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Lilia & Sara). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Lilia/Sara). Please don't say "Any pairing," either.
  • Create content based on the playlists of others! Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
  • Fills may be in any form you choose (except for another FST of course) as long as they are inspired by/fit the mood of the soundtrack they are filling for.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
  • Here is a prompt/fill index for your convenience.

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each

Fills 21-50: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post).

The first month after Tooru is selected for the Olympic men's volleyball team, it feels like there's static filling his ears. He can't quite believe that it's real, and he knows what to do, he knows that he needs to move closer to the training centre and throw himself into preparations for it, but even as he goes through the motions, it still hasn't entirely sunk in.

Not until Hajime starts packing up his half of the apartment too, his belongings sitting beside Tooru's in their boxes, grinning at him as they steadily empty out their cramped apartment to move to a slightly bigger one. Hajime has a new job at a hospital closer to where they'll be moving, and he's due to start it the week after they finish moving.

"You're sure about this?" Tooru asks, not for the first time.

"Tooru," Hajime laughs, putting a stack of his clothes into a box and then walking over to pull Tooru into a kiss. "It's a bit late to ask that, you know. We're in this together. Like we always are. I promised you that we would be, didn't I?"

"I know you did," Tooru murmurs, resting their foreheads together. "It's just…"

Hajime kisses him again. "Stop worrying about it, okay?"

Tooru, predictably, does not stop worrying.

He worries the entire way through the move and he keeps it mostly to himself, because he doesn't want to bother Hajime with it. He knows that it doesn't work, because it's Hajime and he knows everything about Tooru with just a glance.

"We'll be okay," Hajime tells him, as they drive ahead of the moving truck, to the other end of the city. He reaches out, placing his hand on Tooru's knee. "You're thinking too hard."

"Aren't I always?" Tooru asks with a small smile, taking his hand off the steering wheel when they're stopped at a light, placing it on top of Hajime's.

It still doesn't feel real, though. Not until they've finished moving everything in and have unpacked, making the new apartment their own. They still have a couple of days until Hajime starts his job and Tooru starts training, and it means that they can just spend time together, settling in.

"Still worried?" Hajime asks one afternoon, when they're lying on their couch together, kissing lazily.

Tooru hums, thinking about it. Right now, it feels like he's only just taking the first step of the next chapter of his life. He knows that it's big and terrifying; he felt it the entire time that he was preparing to move but now, it's gone.

Hajime's here, he thinks to himself. With Hajime here, he's invincible. It doesn't matter what life wants to throw at him. He'll make it through.

"I'm going to do it, Hajime."

Tooru's gloved hands were held up to the Svalbard sky, fingers pressed together like a window framing the vivid colors of the aurora borealis.

The arctic air was bitingly cold, and even the small amount of his face that wasn't covered by his furred hood and scarf felt chapped and raw from the wind. Hajime could barely felt it. He was transfixed by the sight of Tooru, silhouetted against the white snow and the northern lights. His hands trembled.

In this moment, Tooru was as beautiful as he was terrifying.

He felt his reindeer daemon lean against his side, her bulk a comforting pillar. He steadied himself against her, heart thudding too fast, too heavy against his ribs. They were on the brink of something larger than themselves. They were going to change the world. This world, and the one beyond it.

"If anyone can do it, it would be you," Hajime said softly, voice lost to the wind.

He wasn't sure if Tooru heard him, but his daemon did. The peacock tilted his head, glittering eyes studying Hajime directly.

He knew the intensity of that stare. He swallowed.

It was uncommon for a man to have a male daemon, but not unheard of. His own daemon was female, though her antlers were misleading to those who didn’t know better. But Hajime had never questioned it, not since the day he met Tooru and his capricious little daemon that refused to settle, forms as mercurial as his moods. Not since the day he saw the brilliance of Tooru's anger and pride, when the peacock's glorious plumage spilled out in full display and took his breath away.

Neither of their daemons took another form after that. They were never apart for long, after that, as though they were all fragments of the same broken soul drawn back into a familiar orbit.

Hajime's boots crunched through the snow as he stepped forward. He knelt beside Tooru, and Hajime's palm settled, heavy and warm, on his daemon. The peacock half-closed his eyes, permitting the intimate touch.

Tooru's breath hitched in his throat as the phantom sensation shuddered down his spine.

"I-Iwa-chan," he stammered, glancing down with wide, startled eyes. Suddenly he looked more like the boy he'd once been, when Hajime met him. They both carried the weight of the world, now.

Hajime huffed a laugh. His breath crystallized in a wisp of white, stolen by the wind as soon as it escaped his lips.

"You're going to tear open the sky, Tooru. You're going to find the kingdom of the authority and take it apart, kings and angels and gods and all who stand in your way. Nothing can stop you," Hajime murmured, running his frostbitten fingers down the smooth plumage of Tooru's daemon, and delighting in the way they both shivered.

"Us," Tooru breathed, his gaze unbearably fond. "Nothing can stop us."

That goes without saying, Hajime thought, as he watched his reindeer move to Tooru's side, felt Tooru's fingers curl around the velvet of her antlers, cradle her head tenderly to his chest so he could feel the beat of his heart.

You hold my soul in your hands.
