Bonus Round 3: FSTs
Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.
RULES
- Submit prompts in the form of a short playlist (1-6 songs) and a ship from any of our nominated fandoms. Submit only the track listing and a link to where they can be listened to; the idea is for others to interpret what you present. You may also link to lyrics if you would like.
- Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Lilia & Sara). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Lilia/Sara). Please don't say "Any pairing," either.
- Create content based on the playlists of others! Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.

hey! our aokuro talk the other day inspired me to try tackling this even though i don't usually do much angst lol, i hope it's okay!

It’s cruel. Losing his shadow the first time had been bad enough, nearly killed him in some ways. But at least back then, it was a self-inflicted pain. He had done it to himself, cut himself adrift from his anchor and lost himself in the absence of darkness, become a harsh, formless thing that couldn't be called a light anymore. And his pride had allowed him to turn himself cold, served as a thin, fragile layer of ice that had held the pain at bay.
This time, things are different. It’s been years since his shadow returned, reignited his light and allowed the ice to melt, leaving him raw and new and hurting. His shadow had forgiven him, sheltered him, loved him when he hadn't deserved it, and in the gentleness of that shade, he had slowly recovered. He owes his shadow a debt for that which he spends every day trying to repay, even though he knows that he never will.
Never would have, at least. Before, he could have still dreamed that he might be able to do so, but he can't cling to that comforting fantasy anymore. Because his shadow is gone again now, suddenly, permanently, cruelly.
It makes him ill, how mundane it was. A car accident. It’s like a kick in the throat, saps the air from his lungs to think about how easily he finds himself alone again. No shadow to ground him, no gentle, patient touch to soothe him, no sharp eyes and sharp tongue to challenge him. Just him and the awful, hollow ache that radiates endlessly through his body, like he was the one who had been in the road that day.

He knows this isn't the right thing to do.
It’s selfish. Momoi and Kagami and the others are already hurting enough, and he shouldn't do this to them. He knows that, as he makes his way onto the familiar street court. It’s late, and the low, ruddy sun casts long shadows across the pavement.
He shouldn't do this. But as he lays down, lets his back thump against the concrete and reaches into his pocket, he can't think of another way for this to end. If there’s no shadow, there’s no light, either, just a bleak, pointless motion of particles with nothing to define it. He takes a deep breath, closes his eyes, and follows the darkness he finds.

THIS IS NOT OKAY. THIS IS NOWHERE NEAR OKAY.
IT IS, HOWEVER, DEFINITELY PERFECT.
I really love how you kept the shadow-light talk there, as if Aomine is avoiding even thinking Kuroko's name because it hurts so much. Just reducing them down to shadow and light, to two things that fit together.

That line, especially, speared right through my heart And Aomine knowing that what he's doing is selfish and even thinking of how it'll affect the others but still having to do it anyway. That was just so real and so good.
