Bonus Round 3: FSTs
Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.
RULES
- Submit prompts in the form of a short playlist (1-6 songs) and a ship from any of our nominated fandoms. Submit only the track listing and a link to where they can be listened to; the idea is for others to interpret what you present. You may also link to lyrics if you would like.
- Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Lilia & Sara). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Lilia/Sara). Please don't say "Any pairing," either.
- Create content based on the playlists of others! Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.

Humans love to categorize and generalize; Kise’s no scientist but he’s read enough pop psychology articles to know that much. And it’s true for him, as much as he loves to differentiate himself (as much as other people love to differentiate him from their numbers, like if they put him in some other category it will excuse their own inadequacies). His own life can fit into neatly-stacked periods; early childhood and then the time he could remember up through elementary school, and then modeling and then basketball and then.
High school, Kasamatsu, not to put too fine a point on it. It’s not like he’d immediately fallen hard for Kasamatsu and all of a sudden Kasamatsu had become his world. He hadn’t even really thought about Kasamatsu like that at first, just a guy doing his job trying to fit Kise into a box he didn’t think would contain him, a good teammate then, a strong player. There is no moment when Kise had started to think of Kasamatsu a certain way, but that boundary doesn’t need to be defined, because things had still been the same, Kasamatsu doing the opposite of his middle school teammates, instead of pulling him into a world pulling him out into the world around him. Technical basketball, standing out but still being part of something larger than himself and a few others, the whole Kaijou team, the whole ecosystem of the school it fit into. Kise’s never liked comparing middle school and high school, but they were both different.
And he’d held onto Kasamatsu after that, clutching at his hand, pulling him in closer, trying to pull the world in smaller around them until the strings between them had broken from the stress, fraying and snapping while Kise had watched and hoped, delusional, that they would reinforce themselves. But they hadn’t, and Kasamatsu is left on his side of the world and Kise his own, and it already feels so much smaller.
It might sound stupid to say this when he’s in a hotel room in New Orleans, kilometers and borders away from home, when his physical world is bigger than maybe earth itself. And it’s not like Kise can’t go to places he can now, that Kasamatsu had forcibly taken the world back. But without him, Kise’s on his own again, and if there’s no one to share it with then what is the world?

Ryouta's mind just keeps coming back to the same old things.
This is the problem with his ability; he's a quick learner, yes, but that comes from his superior memorisation skills. He soaks things up like a sponge and he holds onto them. He doesn't always have a choice in what he remembers, or how long he holds onto it.
He has the entirety of his relationship with Yukio stored at the back of his mind like a dust-covered video tape that he tries not to touch, tries not to look at, tries to not even think about. It doesn't work, and every single time he thinks about it, he's left reeling with the pain afterwards.
Ryouta remembers every single time that Yukio smiled at him, and maybe he's not Midorima, maybe he doesn't have it all neatly catalogued away in chronological order so he can sort through the memories whenever he wants to, but that sort of thing has never mattered to him. Not as much as the way Yukio would smile at him whenever they took each other's hands, or the smile he reserved for when they were on the court together, or the one that would curve across Yukio's lips every time they would pull back from a kiss.
No matter how many smiles he remembers, it's been far too long since he's seen any of them in person. Never, since Yukio left and not for a while before then, too.
Just as he remembers the good, he can't forget any of the bad either. The silences that would get longer, colder, the way that they would ignore each other after coming home, until they absolutely had to talk, and the worst part is the fact that Ryouta knows that it's his fault too. It's not as if Yukio was ever the only one contributing to the heavy atmosphere that would settle over them, widening the chasm that was growing between them, with no hope of closing it again.
The silence in the apartment has felt different since Yukio left, and it might not be as hostile as it once was, but Ryouta doesn't think that he likes it any better. No amount of music is enough to fill it, to chase away the thoughts that Ryouta wishes he knew better than to dwell on. This is his mistake, though, and the consequences are just something that he's going to have to live with. Even if it hurts.
