Bonus Round 3: FSTs

FSTs

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

Profess your love for your favorite ships with the power of song! In this round, we ask you to create fan soundtracks and use them as inspiration for new fanwork.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.

RULES
  • Submit prompts in the form of a short playlist (1-6 songs) and a ship from any of our nominated fandoms. Submit only the track listing and a link to where they can be listened to; the idea is for others to interpret what you present. You may also link to lyrics if you would like.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Lilia & Sara). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Lilia/Sara). Please don't say "Any pairing," either.
  • Create content based on the playlists of others! Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
  • Fills may be in any form you choose (except for another FST of course) as long as they are inspired by/fit the mood of the soundtrack they are filling for.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
  • Here is a prompt/fill index for your convenience.

THANK U. Although Aomine would've been.... Honestly, he's a pretty good fit for Krishna, don't you think? LOL.

So is it okay if they're generic irascible gods/mortals, or specially Krishna/Radha + a gopi?

I Tried.

***

There was no clear telling if one was blessed by the gods or cursed by them. This Aomine knew well, though others would condemn him for being fickle and weak, not seeing the myriad of blessings he had been given -- his hero’s strength, his quickness, his lust for life. His guardian asked for nothing in return -- he said -- but Aomine trusted Imayoshi as far as he could throw him, which, given that Imayoshi was a god and could be as heavy as the universe or as light as a nutshell, was hardly a good guide in anything.

Imayoshi had appeared one day, during Aomine’s wanderings and offered him many gifts. “What’s the catch?” Aomine had had asked, because of course there would be a catch.

Imayoshi had just smiled. “I only need a champion, Prince Aomine. You don’t even need to practice your swordsmanship.”

*

It started with a spider web. It blocked off the usual path Kiyoshi used to get his cows to the field -- the morning dew had deposited droplets of water on the web and it sparkled like diamonds against the morning sun.

It would be a pity to destroy it, but the cows had to be fed. Carefully, Kiyoshi caught the spider that had been busily spinning its web and brought it over to the nearest tree. After asking the spider for his pardon for destroying his web, Kiyoshi stepped through the web and led his cows along with them.

From that day, nothing Kiyoshi did went right. The cows’ milk dried up and were taken away. When he worked the fields, the crops would die. When he would plant a garden, the insects would eat every leaf and stem. No fish were ever caught in his net. There were rumors, whispers that Kiyoshi had fallen victim to an evil eye. He left his village before he could be driven out, limping as he did so -- his last, desperate gamble at normalcy, becoming a woodcutter, had left him with a wound on his leg that just would not heal.

He walked a long way before he realized he had a companion -- a young man in fine traveling clothes, green and black silk, and a shaggy mane of black hair. Kiyoshi could see at a glance that he was not human -- it was his eyes that told him so. No human would have eyes that were pitiless and bright.

The man -- the creature -- smiled and introduced himself as Hanamiya. “You’re to be my champion,” he said, throwing an arm around Kiyoshi’s shoulder.

“I refuse,” Kiyoshi said, pulling away.

Hanamiya’s smile only grew. “As if you have a choice. Those the gods favor never do.”

*

“Really,” Imayoshi said, when he first saw Kiyoshi. He looked over to Hanamiya and tisked. “Your jealousy is really too much, Makoto. Why must you torment a poor mortal like this? Can’t you see he suffers?”

“Who care about his suffering,” Hanamiya said. “You and I had a wager and I did my part.”

“My champion will finish off yours right away,” Imayoshi said with a sigh. “But still, it can’t be helped.”

*

Aomine didn’t know why he was doing this, fight like hell against this stranger. He wasn’t another prince or even a noble, it seemed. Aomine looked closer at him -- could he really be a cowherd?

And yet this cowherd wasn’t giving up, not even against Aomine’s overwhelming strength. It would be a pity to kill him, but Aomine needed to win.

*

Kiyoshi knew that he had only a sliver of a chance to get out this alive, and so he took it. He feinted to the right, and Aomine charged him. But instead, Kiyoshi sidestepped him and pushed him down. Momentarily dazed, Aomine looked up at him from the ground.

“No one should be able to touch me,” he said, sullenly.

“If you want to be a puppet of the gods, go on fighting. But if you want to break free, come with me,” Kiyoshi said, holding out his hand.

“You just don’t want me to kill you,” Aomine complained, taking Kiyoshi’s hand.

Kiyoshi smiled. “Can you blame me?”

*

“Mortals are always so disappointing,” Hanamiya sighed. “That’s why I say we should always kill them after playing with them.”

Imayoshi shrugged. He hated when Hanamiya didn’t take their games as seriously as he should. Kiyoshi had turned out to be wily than most, but really. Bringing a cowherd to fight against a prince. “Nevermind,” he said with a sigh. “Look, there’s a jealous wife who sees her husband making eyes at someone else. And they're royalty, it seems. How much do you want to wager?”

“If it’s anything less than the utter ruin of the kingdom, I won’t play,” Hanamiya whined.

“Fair enough, let’s get ready…”

Kise was the first to lay eyes on Kuroko. He saw him as Kuroko was out tending to his herds, and he was immediately struck by his beauty. Never one to miss an opportunity, Kise had taken on human form and approached him, but despite Kise's best attempts at charm and flirting, Kuroko was unimpressed. Even when Kise stole in while Kuroko was doing the washing and snatched away the clothing Kuroko had hung out to dry, Kuroko had only sighed and said, softly, "those are my grandmother's clothes. Could you please return them?"

Kise had, and the other gods had been forced to listen to yet another installment in Kise's seemingly never ending tales of romantic woes.

They happened to frequently that most of the gods tuned them out entirely, and so when Aomine saw the shepherd fighting a threat to his herds, it never occurred to him that this was the same boy who had so enraptured Kise.

It wasn't Kuroko's beautiful face that caught Aomine's attention, it was the beauty of his movement. He was like a shadow, one minute here, the next over there, and nearly invisible in the moment it took him to slip between the two. Aomine took on a human form and walked up beside him, spear in hand, and offered to teach him even better ways to fight.

Kuroko took his advice gratefully, but he showed no interest beyond that no matter how many times Aomine appeared before him.

Despite their frequent appearances, it wasn't until many months later that both gods came to Kuroko's herds on the same day. They saw one another before they saw Kuroko, the shepherd hidden on the other side of a hill, and they both tried to lay their claim on the boy. Kise argued that he had been the first to meet Kuroko, and therefore Kuroko was his. Aomine argued that Kuroko did not push him away as he did Kise, and therefore Kuroko clearly deserved him. As was often the case with gods, neither one thought to ask Kuroko what he desired (or perhaps they both knew they would be rejected if they did).

Unable to settle the matter with words, the two gods came to blows. Golden light spilled forth wherever Kise stepped, flooding the area with blinding brightness. The earth shook under Aomine's feet, great cracks opening in the fields every time his set down his foot.

Occupied by their own battle, the two gods didn't notice the cause of their conflict as he came over the hill to see what was causing the commotion that was scaring his herds. It was just as the two gods unleashed powerful blasts toward the other that Kuroko threw himself between them yelling "Please STOP!"
