SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

An oldie but a goodie—in this round, we draw inspiration from famous words said by other people.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.

RULES

• Submit prompts by commenting to this post with a quote attributed to a specific person or character, along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

oh, thank you! i really like the idea of people's value as people vs objects vs symbols, and kiyoko's discomfort with her position and the loyalty between the four of them. the ending was really suspenseful, and even though it works wonderfully as-is, i want more. just wonderful!

yessss thank you! i love shizuku trying and trying and trying so hard to reach her goal, and not knowing why it isn't working, and so desperate to know. and chinatsu loving dance and curious about shizuku. there were so many wonderful lines in this, like Caught between contempt and idolization and It's dance, and girls all give up something.. i loved this

thank you! i love squid kuroko, just being super chill about it, and aomine, freaking out (understandably!). it feels almost like a story that could be comedy or horror, depending on whose point of view you were in, which is really cool.

I was really excited to see this fill! Your writing has a lot of lovely tension (especially at the start, dropping us directly into the scene). And then the short sentences clipping the ends of longer, flowing action and thought sentences was really lovely. Most of all, you capture the kind of reluctant (and antagonistic?) relationship that lingers between the two, and I adore it all the more. <3

asdlkajs;ldk I somehow missed commenting on this fill during the summer when I went through your others, which I feel terrible about! The repetition at the beginning of this one set a really nice rhythm to this one to start, and it was nice to be in a space as ordered as Imayoshi's head here!

I love Pacific Rim AUs, and your spin on it here was really neat! The balance between Hanamiya (wanting to pilot but unwilling to drift) and Imayoshi (manipulative enough to force a a drift) was startling in how unnerving it was.

(Other people scoffed at the theories that the remnants of kaiju were being used to mutate humans and create super soldiers who could swim into the depths and meet the kaiju without Jaegars but Imayoshi knew better. Some of the programs had been his brain children, after all). These sentences sent shivers up my spine, because his tone in my head was so nonchalant that the first time I didn't read it for what it was.

I am really glad you liked and YES, Imayoshi manipulating Hanamiya into being his partner is just. A+ to imagine. Also Imayoshi helping develop super soldier programs and being so casual about it AND sending Aomine to take part. Can you just imagine the sort of monster that Aomine might emerge as?

There's something really fascinating about this one-- Imayoshi's exact role isn't entirely clear (salesman? vampire? witch? hunter?) and it's paired nicely with the slip between using feminine and masculine pronouns. Their interaction at the end is particularly lovely. <3

YAY more Pacific Rim AU! It was like hearing a knife laugh, the jarring synthesia of knife and laughter somehow overlapping, of poisoned tea being as warm and thick as blood was such a strong image, and made me breathless for a moment. The imagery of removing teeth kept all the hairs on my neck standing, and it's such a terrifying thing, to realize that these two are terribly frightening in their thoughts and fantasies and utterly willing to use them to test.

The framing of this one felt really settled, and it was terrifying in a way to realize that the "horror story" of marriage that Hanamiya is raised by is one that Imayoshi molds into truth.

The last line is particularly tragic for some reason, and makes something in my chest hurt because there is something and nothing and no guarantees.
