Warnings for permanent scarring and Hanamiya being truly horrible.
***
Imayoshi paused at the sight of Hanamiya with a syringe and a tube.
“Makoto-chan, what are you doing?” He asked warily. Surely, surely Hanamiya wasn’t involved in drugs. He was the most intelligent person that Imayoshi knew! Why would he ever damage that with drugs?
“Hm?” Hanamiya looked up, a smirk already on his face. “Lock the door behind you and I’ll tell you.”
Imayoshi locked Hanamiya’s dorm room door, eyeing the needle suspiciously still. The fluid inside it was clear but it was a glass needle, not a plastic one. Where had Hanamiya even got that from? Had he stolen it from the infirmary? Was Hanamiya going to start up a drug-dealing network inside the school? The thin latex gloves, which Imayoshi recognized as coming from the science lab, would ensure that Hanamiya left no fingerprints.
Never had a twelve-year-old been this much of a criminal genius, Imayoshi was sure. If Hanamiya wanted to get involved in distributing drugs, that was wholly different from using them. Imayoshi might even support his efforts - for a cut.
“There’s this kid in my class, he’s got really bad acne,” Hanamiya started out, using the innocently helpful tone that Imayoshi had learnt was the equivalent of a five-alarm warning siren. “And all the treatments for acne involve acid, don’t they? So I’m just improving the cream he uses.”
“Improving it how?” Imayoshi asked, already aware of the answer.
“Just adding a little more acid. It’ll be stable within the suspension of the cream, I’m putting it right in the middle. Once it’s squirted out onto his skin or he rubs it onto his face…” Hanamiya’s smirk turned into a wide, wicked grin.
“They’ll know it was tampered with,” Imayoshi said.
“That’s why I used the same acid listed in the ingredients. They’ll just think it was a faulty batch. Maybe sue the manufacturer for cash to get him some plastic surgery.” Hanamiya carefully injected the contents of the syringe into the tube, then pulled the syringe out and set it aside.
“If you’ll excuse me, Imayoshi-senpai, I have to return this to his room before he gets back from practice.” He smiled at Imayoshi as he stood up, hiding the tube in his pocket. “Thank you for coming to see me. You’ll make a perfect alibi.”
“Hurry back before I get bored, Makoto-chan,” Imayoshi teased and was gratified to see a flash of unease touch Hanamiya’s eyes at the thought of what a bored Imayoshi could do with unguarded access to his room.
He couldn’t have the boy thinking he was the only monster in the school.
