Bonus Round 5: Clue

Clue

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

Sometimes, all you need are a few little details to imagine something bigger. This round is inspired by a classic board game with a cast of colorful characters, but for SASO your only limits on "who", "where", and "with what" are what you can imagine (and the SASO fandom list, of course)!

This round closes on 5 August @ 7PM EDT. (Countdown Timer.)

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES
  • Submit prompts by commenting to this post with the format of a Clue mystery - "[character] in the [location] with [item]", along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
    • Example: Sawamura Daichi in the teachers' lounge with the Hello Kitty! lunchbox
    • The person in your prompt MAY be a member of your ship, but is not REQUIRED to be part of your ship. They must still be a named character from a SASO-nominated fandom.
    • Your place must be a physical location, not a state of being or a state of being. However, this location is not required to be real, nor must it be from the same setting as the characters.
    • The "item" used must be a physical object that the character can hold or manipulate.
    • Unlike the board game, your prompt is NOT required to imply murder. The scenario implied can be anything at all! (As always, please tag properly!)
    • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Natsuo & Yuzuko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Natsuo/Yuzuko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
  • Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your Clue-inspired fanwork.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
  • Here is a prompt/fill index for your convenience.

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post).

This isn't very shippy, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless!

Kataoka was so takenaback by what he saw when he got to his office that his initial reaction was to discreetly pinch himself in the hopes that it was a dream he could wake up from. When it became evident that this was reality, his gaping expression hardened into the fiercest glare.

“Miyuki,” he said with an overtone of steel in his voice. Given the context he couldn’t really swear, so that was the next best thing. “What do you think you’re doing?”

Because Kataoka could see what Miyuki was literally doing: lying on the couch with his head rested on a cushion and his feet up on the opposite arm rest, just in socks with his shoes at his side. A box of cigarettes sat on his chest, and in his hand Miyuki was fidgeting with a lighter, flicking it on and letting it extinguish repeatedly. But as far as Kataoka was concerned there was no logical explanation for it.

“Taking a break,” he drawled in response, letting a lazy smirk grow on his face. “Being team captain is a lot harder than it looks, you know.”

Kataoka refused to rise to Miyuki’s bait, because he was the bigger person here and he wasn’t going to let even a very smart kid get one up on him, and he crossed his arms tightly over his chest. “Who else has seen you carrying those? Are you looking to get expelled?”

“Relax, Coach,” Miyuki laughed. “I’m just holding these for a first-year.”

“Which first-year?”

Miyuki waved his hand. “Not important. Not someone on the team, just some kid who was fucking around in the bathroom. I guess I could have just let him throw his life away, but I wanted to get my good deed for the day in.”

Kataoka remained unconvinced, and he grabbed both the cigarettes and lighter from his student; Miyuki looked obviously disappointed. He looked a lot less so when Kataoka knelt on the floor beside him.

“Breathe,” Kataoka demanded. He was close enough that he could hear and feel Miyuki gasp on his next inhale, but when he breathed out, it was even, measured, and controlled. Kataoka inhaled the breath that fanned over his face; it was warm and smelled slightly of tea, but there was no detectable aroma of cigarette smoke.

Kataoka rose to his feet again, and couldn’t help but notice the color in Miyuki’s cheeks. He ignored it, mainly because there was no right thing to say about it, and took the box of cigarettes and the lighter to dump into his desk drawer.

“I don’t care how important you are to the team,” he pronounced carefully, giving Miyuki a hard stare from behind his glasses. “Or how important you think you are to me. If I ever catch you with something like this again, you’re out. Understood?”

“Understood, Coach,” Miyuki echoed with uncharacteristic gravitas. Kataoka kept up his stare, wanting to impart on Miyuki that he never wanted to see him devastate his body that way. Kataoka wasn’t supposed to have favorite students, and he didn’t, but it would be a lie to suggest that Miyuki was someone he could forget after the catcher graduated.

Miyuki stared back, unfaltering, until Kataoka blinked and looked away.

“You can go to your room now. Thank you for bringing this to my attention,” he said smoothly. “And next time, I’d appreciate it if you waited for me outside.”

That made Miyuki grin his typical Chesire Cat smile, and he slipped his feet into his shoes before getting up. “I’ll try to keep that in mind. Goodnight, Coach Kataoka.”

“Goodnight, Miyuki.”
