Bonus Round 5: Clue

Sometimes, all you need are a few little details to imagine something bigger. This round is inspired by a classic board game with a cast of colorful characters, but for SASO your only limits on "who", "where", and "with what" are what you can imagine (and the SASO fandom list, of course)!
Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)
RULES
- Submit prompts by commenting to this post with the format of a Clue mystery - "[character] in the [location] with [item]", along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
- Example: Sawamura Daichi in the teachers' lounge with the Hello Kitty! lunchbox
- The person in your prompt MAY be a member of your ship, but is not REQUIRED to be part of your ship. They must still be a named character from a SASO-nominated fandom.
- Your place must be a physical location, not a state of being or a state of being. However, this location is not required to be real, nor must it be from the same setting as the characters.
- The "item" used must be a physical object that the character can hold or manipulate.
- Unlike the board game, your prompt is NOT required to imply murder. The scenario implied can be anything at all! (As always, please tag properly!)
- Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Natsuo & Yuzuko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Natsuo/Yuzuko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
- Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your Clue-inspired fanwork.
- Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
- Here is a prompt/fill index for your convenience.

Here, Tour de France rest day shenanigans for you. ♥
***
The hotel they’d been stabled at was very nice! While everyone was utterly exhausted on the evenings and nights after a race, rest days were a different matter. The gleaming blue pool kept catching Onoda’s eye as he ate breakfast until finally Midousuji asked, “Do you want to go swimming?”
“Ahhhhh…” Onoda’s cheeks flushed pink and he hastily drank the rest of his juice to give himself some time to think up a proper answer. “I know it’s a rest day but it can’t do any harm to just splash about in the pool, can it? Maybe we can just float.”
A little shyly, he admitted, “I’ve never been in a pool before except for school swimming lessons. And it looks so nice.”
“A few hours in the pool won’t hurt your condition,” Komari said when Midousuji gave him a pointed look. Their captain really was a pushover for Onoda but then again, swimming would let him get a good look at Onoda’s muscles…
Onoda instantly brightened up, eyes shining behind his oversized glasses. “So we can go?”
He looked at Midousuji hopefully and Midousuji nodded. “Yes. Did you bring swim trunks?”
“No,” Onoda admitted, “But I’m sure the hotel gift shop sells some!”
*
By the time the rest of the team finished changing, Onoda was already in the pool and splashing about happily in the shallow end. The pool was filled with pool noodles, floats and Onoda had even purchased inflatable arm bands for everyone just in case. He had on a bright pink pair despite clearly being able to swim well enough.
“Why are you wearing those, Sakamachi?” Midousuji asked as he fed his long, lean body into the body. It was cool against his skin, lapping at his shoulders when he was finally in, and Midousuji ducked his head under the water to get the worst of the shock out of the way. When he raised his head again, Onoda was beaming at him and holding out a pair of floaties.
“It’s in case I get a cramp! You should wear them too, Akira.” He pulled them up over Midousuji’s arms and started inflating them, round cheeks puffing up as he blew as hard as he could. Bemused, Midousuji watched him work and when it was done, Midousuji climbed onto a flamingo float. He pulled his shades down over his eyes and relaxed with his arms and legs draped over the side.
“I’m going to sleep,” he announced to the team and the world in general. “First person to splash me dies.”

I spent so much time img googling floats.... time well spent.

Midousuji’s long arms give him a certain advantage; Onoda’s high cadence gives him his.
“To the end of the pool and back, Midousuji-kun!” Onoda says excitedly as his feet idly churn up waves in the water around them. It’s an impossibly perfect summer day and there’s nobody using the pool at the resort they’re staying at; something about bookings for an important Toudou and Makishima joint family function. “The winner decides what we watch this weekend!” His glasses glint in the bright yellow sun and for a moment Onoda’s wide smile looks a little bit sharper than it normally does.
Midousuji squints suspiciously. “Gross,” he says, letting his long tongue loll lazily into the chlorine pool water. “Very gross,” he amends. “As if Asuka-chan would ever lose to your Kotori-chan.” Midousuji shifts a little in the neon pink flamingo float he’s sitting inside, and it squeaks loudly as if in agreement.
Onoda is sitting in the middle of a yellow duck float and it bobs a little in the water as Onoda leans forward eagerly. “Then let’s both do our best!”
Midousuji never really plans anything when he races Onoda alone; he wants just the race itself, that warm and hollow feeling of chasing after the sun. But this time with how much he wants to bring victory to Asuka-chan, he feels compelled to lay out some groundwork to ensure a certain outcome. Or wavework, as the setting allows it.
“Midousuji-kun! What’s wrong?” Onoda cries out as Midousuji swerves his flamingo into Onoda’s duck. The water is choppy all around around them. “Did you spring a leak?”
They’ve doggy paddled within the cumbersome floats as best they could and had ended up vigourously drifting to about halfway down the length of the Olympic-size pool. It had taken longer than expected. Midousuji kept overshooting the strength of his long arms and hitting the side of the pool; Onoda kept kicking up so many waves that they would both have to stop and push off again.
“This is not the victory I had envisioned,” Midousuji hisses as he grabs Onoda’s duck and tries to unseat Onoda enough to dunk him into the water. The duck squeaks in protest at this mistreatment; the flamingo squeaks constantly in alarm at all the commotion; but Onoda is just laughing so hard as he tries to keep his duck upright that he ends up slipping out of it anyway.
“We can watch Asuka-chan if you want to that much, Midousuji-kun.” Onoda smiles as Midousuji fishes around for Onoda’s glasses that had gotten knocked into the water. Both their floats are drifting around haphazardly, no longer squeaking their objections; Onoda and Midousuji seem to have taken this advice, too.
“Gross,” Midousuji replies as his head breaks the surface and he perches the retrieved glasses awkwardly onto Onoda’s face. “Don’t talk like that, we can watch both.”
“Okay, Midousuji-kun,” Onoda says as sunlight refracts off the water droplets still scattered across his glasses, and the thinks he might have seen Midousuji smile just a little though the haze of that little rainbow.
Re: FILL: TEAM KAGEYAMA TOBIO/OIKAWA TOORU, G
And THANK YOU SO MUCH for filling this, it's so sweet it warms my heart. I love how Midousuji is getting carried away and following after Onoda's enthouthiasm, and envisioning them applying their usual riding style to float-race is adorably ridiculous ♡
