Bonus Round 5: Clue

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

Sometimes, all you need are a few little details to imagine something bigger. This round is inspired by a classic board game with a cast of colorful characters, but for SASO your only limits on "who", "where", and "with what" are what you can imagine (and the SASO fandom list, of course)!

This round closes on 5 August @ 7PM EDT. (Countdown Timer.)

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES

• Submit prompts by commenting to this post with the format of a Clue mystery - "[character] in the [location] with [item]", along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
  • Example: Sawamura Daichi in the teachers' lounge with the Hello Kitty! lunchbox
  • The person in your prompt MAY be a member of your ship, but is not REQUIRED to be part of your ship. They must still be a named character from a SASO-nominated fandom.
  • Your place must be a physical location, not a state of being or a state of being. However, this location is not required to be real, nor must it be from the same setting as the characters.
  • The "item" used must be a physical object that the character can hold or manipulate.
  • Unlike the board game, your prompt is NOT required to imply murder. The scenario implied can be anything at all! (As always, please tag properly!)
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Natsuo & Yuzuko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Natsuo/Yuzuko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
• Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your Clue-inspired fanwork.

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

oikawa can't help but stare at the uniform he'd pulled out of his bag, sitting on the bed. the white writing on its brilliant red, his number etched on the back are hard to look away from.

he's been working toward this, waiting, training for this moment--the olympics, the chance to play in front of the entire world--his whole life. this is something he's wanted for so long, and now it's only a night's sleep away.

tomorrow. tomorrow he'll be able to live all that. to make any dream he's had come true. it's exhilarating and a little nerve-wracking too.

"it's not going anywhere if you look away for a minute."

iwaizumi'd stepped out of the bathroom in their shared hotel room when oikawa wasn't paying attention, clad in his pajama bottoms and towel around his neck after he'd taken a shower. he towels at his still wet hair, but smiles at oikawa.

"who says i was staring at my jersey?" oikawa counters easily, smiling too. he wants to berate himself for answering iwaizumi like he'd known exactly what he'd been talking about rather than feigning innocence, but what's done is done. iwaizumi knows the truth either way.

"what else would you be staring at so intently? how beautiful the sheets are?"

oikawa snorts. "they are pretty beautiful. i bet they're soft too. maybe you can ask the front desk tomorrow where they get their sheets from so you can buy some for home."

"oh my god," iwaizumi mutters through a laugh and plops down on the other bed in the room. the one that won't get any use because they always sleep in the same bed, even when they're away at tournaments. after sharing a bed for so long, not doing so now would feel odd. "i'll fucking buy you sheets ten times better than these when we win the gold."

he doesn't say if. only when. when. like he knows it's going to happen. like they stand a good chance at victory.

it's not like it would come as a shock if they did win. japan's national team has been talked about for months about being a favorite to win. they all want it. the whole team. more than anything.

but...

"hajime," oikawa says quietly, and sits down next to iwaizumi on the bed, away from where his jersey's sitting, pressed and neat and perfect. all ready for tomorrow. "what if i--?"

"hey." iwaizumi presses a hand to oikawa's knee, and bumps their shoulders together, drawing them even closer together than they had been before. "don't say that. you're gonna do great."

"you don't know that."

iwaizumi sighs. "i've been playing with you since we were kids. i don't think you even know how bright you shine when you're on the court. now the whole world gets to see it too."

oikawa looks down at his knees, unable to hold back the smile tugging at his lips, or the sting of tears behind his eyes. they've been working their whole lives for this moment. together. "hajime..."

he presses a hand to oikawa's cheek, turns his head so they're looking at each other and can press their foreheads together. "we're going to win tomorrow."

oikawa's smile mirrors iwaizumi's own. "okay," he answers. "okay."

they'll play their hardest and fight until they achieve the victory they've been wanting for so long. they'll win their most important matches yet. and it will all be together, by each other's sides.
