Bonus Round 5: Clue

Clue

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

Sometimes, all you need are a few little details to imagine something bigger. This round is inspired by a classic board game with a cast of colorful characters, but for SASO your only limits on "who", "where", and "with what" are what you can imagine (and the SASO fandom list, of course)!

This round closes on 5 August @ 7PM EDT. (Countdown Timer.)

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES
  • Submit prompts by commenting to this post with the format of a Clue mystery - "[character] in the [location] with [item]", along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
    • Example: Sawamura Daichi in the teachers' lounge with the Hello Kitty! lunchbox
    • The person in your prompt MAY be a member of your ship, but is not REQUIRED to be part of your ship. They must still be a named character from a SASO-nominated fandom.
    • Your place must be a physical location, not a state of being or a state of being. However, this location is not required to be real, nor must it be from the same setting as the characters.
    • The "item" used must be a physical object that the character can hold or manipulate.
    • Unlike the board game, your prompt is NOT required to imply murder. The scenario implied can be anything at all! (As always, please tag properly!)
    • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Natsuo & Yuzuko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Natsuo/Yuzuko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
  • Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your Clue-inspired fanwork.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
  • Here is a prompt/fill index for your convenience.

This was surprisingly fun to write, thank you for prompting it!

“You’re back early!” Miki said, leaning over the counter to peck a kiss to Miyahara’s cheek. She settled back into her chair behind her desk, adjusting her bow tie. “Does that mean it went really well or really badly?”

“A little of both,” Miyahara said with an exhausted sigh. She sank into the well-padded chair opposite Miki with a grateful sigh and kicked off her shoes. After a second of guilty reflection, she toed off her socks as well.

Yes, it wasn’t very proper and bare feet did not become an auditor but nobody could see her feet under Miki’s desk and she was just so tired!

“Oh?” Miki asked, opening up her folder on Manami aka Wonder Boy. She scrolled down rapidly until she hit the spreadsheet for July and then tapped it open.

“Okay, give me the gruesome details,” she said cheerfully. Since her mug of coffee was only half full, she paused to shake an extra packet of sugar into it and then pushed it across the desk to Miyahara. “And here, drink this. I think you need it more than I do.”

Miyahara took the mug with a thankful smile and sipped at it, sighing as her tight muscles started to relax.

“We got a call that the new super in town, the one with the ability to run really fast, was robbing a bank so we suited up and went to the bank. Wonder Boy flew straight for him and picked him up off the ground. When I asked him why he did that, he said that he thought that if the man was off the ground, he wouldn’t be able to run.”

“Makes sense,” Miki said cheerfully, entering the vital details as she did so. “By the way, the papers have been calling him the Speed Demon Supreme.”

“Right. Well. What happens if you pick the Speed Demon Supreme off the ground is that he spins his arms super fast and creates a supreme demon tornado.”

Miki stopped typing. “...How bad was it?”

“The good news is that the actual loss of life was minimal. The bad news is that there was loss of life. And a lot of property destruction.” Miyahara drained the last of the coffee and sighed. “Also Wonder Boy’s convinced he’s in Oz.”

“Oz as in … Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz?” Miki asked, pulling up police reports and emergency service dispatches.

Miyahara nodded grimly. “According to him, it’s all red dust and no living things. His GPS isn’t working and his wings shattered when he landed so he can’t fly up to see where he is.”

“That could be a number of deserts or Australia,” Miki said, frowning slightly. “We’ll check where his tracker chip says he is. What about Speed Demon Supreme?”

“Dead. One of the glass shards from Wonder Boy’s wings went into his throat when the tornado hit them.”

Miki paused, then added “+1” to the column that calculated deaths. Even if he was a villain, his death still counted towards Manami’s final toll!
