Bonus Round 5: Clue

Clue

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

Sometimes, all you need are a few little details to imagine something bigger. This round is inspired by a classic board game with a cast of colorful characters, but for SASO your only limits on "who", "where", and "with what" are what you can imagine (and the SASO fandom list, of course)!

This round closes on 5 August @ 7PM EDT. (Countdown Timer.)

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES
  • Submit prompts by commenting to this post with the format of a Clue mystery - "[character] in the [location] with [item]", along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
    • Example: Sawamura Daichi in the teachers' lounge with the Hello Kitty! lunchbox
    • The person in your prompt MAY be a member of your ship, but is not REQUIRED to be part of your ship. They must still be a named character from a SASO-nominated fandom.
    • Your place must be a physical location, not a state of being or a state of being. However, this location is not required to be real, nor must it be from the same setting as the characters.
    • The "item" used must be a physical object that the character can hold or manipulate.
    • Unlike the board game, your prompt is NOT required to imply murder. The scenario implied can be anything at all! (As always, please tag properly!)
    • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Natsuo & Yuzuko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Natsuo/Yuzuko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
  • Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your Clue-inspired fanwork.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
  • Here is a prompt/fill index for your convenience.

FILL: Team The Prince of Tennis, T

Ship: Hanamiya/Imayoshi, Hanamiya & Kiyoshi
Fandom: Kuroko no Basuke
Major Tags: tags omitted
Other Tags: tags omitted
Word Count: 428 words

...Yeaaah, Hanamiya’s a piece of shit and I love you for giving me an excuse to write him. Warnings for violence and sports injury.

***

“Hey, Iron Heart, watch out!” Hanamiya called out as he swooped nearer to Kiyoshi and sent a Bludger right at him.

Kiyoshi swerved to the side, losing sight of his other Chasers, and the Bludger flew past him.

Hanamiya came for him, flying as if he intended to crash directly into him, but instead he caught up to the Bludger and batted it back at Kiyoshi. With only two Beaters to 3 Chasers, a 1 on 1 defense just wasn’t practical but Hanamiya had been focusing on Kiyoshi all game to the point that Kiyoshi had been too busy dodging the Bludger to even pay attention to where the Quaffle was.

Kiyoshi rocked back on his broom and Hanamiya sped past, just ‘accidentally’ clipping Kiyoshi’s broom as he did so. The slight jerk of the broom to the side was enough of a distraction for Kiyoshi to not see the Bludger return from the back. The crowd screamed warnings but Kiyoshi turned too late; the Bludger smashed into his knee and Kiyoshi’s grip on the broom loosened.

The pain grabbed his brain in clawed fingers and squeezed. Unconsciousness threatened greyly at the corners of his vision and Kiyoshi’s fingers let go of the broom.

He blacked out as he fell which was more of a mercy than Hanamiya would’ve liked. It would have been so much better if Kiyoshi had been awake when he hit the ground, if Kiyoshi had seen Hanamiya faux-desperately pushing his broom into a downwards dive to try to catch Kiyoshi.

Nobody expected Ravenclaws to play dirty. Nobody expected Ravenclaws to use their brains to enchant Bludgers. And absolutely nobody expected Ravenclaws to be more focused on hurting their enemy than winning.

The Slytherins made such convenient scapegoats and distractions. Everyone was so busy thinking of ambition as evil that they forgot that knowledge without compassion could be just as cruel.

When the whistle blew for play to stop and Hanamiya landed his broom next to Kiyoshi’s crumpled, unconscious body, everyone believed his look of dismay and the panicked way in which he begged Madame Hooch to tell him that it wasn’t a serious injury. The rest of his team comforted him that it wasn’t his fault and even the Gryffindors (such good sportsmen) were quick to say that Quidditch was a sport in which people got injured. It just happened and Hanamiya shouldn’t beat himself up over it.

In the stands, the Slytherin Prefect watched and smiled behind his scarf.

Seeing his boyfriend fool everyone was more far amusing than Quidditch.

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH ravenclaw hanamiya is so perfect, and this has so many great, cutting observations about how hanamiya functions when he fools people and how he operates.

Everyone was so busy thinking of ambition as evil that they forgot that knowledge without compassion could be just as cruel. this is!! so great!!??

slytherin imayoshi swooning over his evil bf is the icing on the cake here, thank you for this awesome fill!!

i just want to write so much Ravenclaw Hanamiya and Slytherin Imayoshi now. So much. Your prompt has me HOOKED on them, omg. And yessssss, Imayoshi very much likes his cute evil underclassman. It's so nice being the only one to see past Hanamiya's mask to the monster underneath.
