Bonus Round 5: Clue

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

Sometimes, all you need are a few little details to imagine something bigger. This round is inspired by a classic board game with a cast of colorful characters, but for SASO your only limits on "who", "where", and "with what" are what you can imagine (and the SASO fandom list, of course)!

This round closes on 5 August @ 7PM EDT. (Countdown Timer.)

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES

• Submit prompts by commenting to this post with the format of a Clue mystery - "[character] in the [location] with [item]", along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
  • Example: Sawamura Daichi in the teachers' lounge with the Hello Kitty! lunchbox
  • The person in your prompt MAY be a member of your ship, but is not REQUIRED to be part of your ship. They must still be a named character from a SASO-nominated fandom.
  • Your place must be a physical location, not a state of being or a state of being. However, this location is not required to be real, nor must it be from the same setting as the characters.
  • The "item" used must be a physical object that the character can hold or manipulate.
  • Unlike the board game, your prompt is NOT required to imply murder. The scenario implied can be anything at all! (As always, please tag properly!)
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Natsuo & Yuzuko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Natsuo/Yuzuko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
• Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your Clue-inspired fanwork.

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Imayoshi arranged the sheets around him neatly, frowning a little as the sun stung his eyes. Perhaps he should get those glasses where the lenses darkened automatically in response to sunshine? They’d be expensive, though. He couldn’t ask his parents for them and really, it wasn’t as if they played outside that often--


“This is the first time I’ve seen anyone with a folder of printed-out spreadsheets,” an amused voice said.

Imayoshi twisted from the waist and tilted his head up, staring up at the other teenager. Brown hair, glasses, eyes also squinted so he couldn’t tell what color they were - the stranger was blocking the sun so it was hard to make out his features but Imayoshi was fairly sure that Imayoshi didn’t know him.

“If you bring a laptop outside into direct sunlight, it overheats immediately,” Imayoshi said and then nodded in the direction of the court. “Sometimes it breaks even before that when it gets hit by a basketball.”

The ball resounded with a thunk against the backboard before swishing into the net. Wakamatsu celebrated loudly and the stranger smiled briefly.

“I see. Our analyst always takes notes by hand too.”

Our? Imayoshi’s interest sharpened. Was this a competing player from a different school? What a day for Momoi to take Aomine out shopping. She was so good at getting information out of people.

“Oh, what’s his name? Perhaps I know him,” Imayoshi said casually, adjusting his glasses as if he weren’t paying too much attention to the conversation.

“Inui Sadaharu,” the boy supplied. “And I’m Fuji Shuusuke.”

“Imayoshi Shoichi,” Imayoshi said in response, leaning back against the mesh backing. “What school do you play for?”

“Seigaku,” Fuji said, shifting a little to block out the sun better for Imayoshi.

Imayoshi smiled briefly in thanks before he frowned as he recognized the name. “Seigaku… Isn’t that the middle school that had a 12-year-old go to the US Open? I didn’t know you had a basketball program as well.”

It couldn’t be very good. Imayoshi didn’t remember having played them or even heard of them.

“We don’t, as far as I know,” Fuji said equably though his smile had a new edge to it. “I play tennis. And yes, Echizen won the US Open.”

The slight stress on the word made Imayoshi smile, just as brief and sharp as Fuji’s smile.

“Thinking of coming here?” He asked, sizing the younger boy up as best as he could.

“I was,” Fuji said and let his smile vanish. “But I don’t think this is the school for me.”

Somehow, Imayoshi felt insulted.

Poor Imayoshi, probably correct in feeling vaguely insulted by Fuji. I love the dynamic here with Imayoshi constantly testing/pushing a little further, and Fuji definitely playing his own game as well probably more than Imayoshi realizes. Thanks for filling this mastermind crossover!
