Bonus Round 5: Clue

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

Sometimes, all you need are a few little details to imagine something bigger. This round is inspired by a classic board game with a cast of colorful characters, but for SASO your only limits on "who", "where", and "with what" are what you can imagine (and the SASO fandom list, of course)!

This round closes on 5 August @ 7PM EDT. (Countdown Timer.)

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES

• Submit prompts by commenting to this post with the format of a Clue mystery - "[character] in the [location] with [item]", along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
  • Example: Sawamura Daichi in the teachers' lounge with the Hello Kitty! lunchbox
  • The person in your prompt MAY be a member of your ship, but is not REQUIRED to be part of your ship. They must still be a named character from a SASO-nominated fandom.
  • Your place must be a physical location, not a state of being or a state of being. However, this location is not required to be real, nor must it be from the same setting as the characters.
  • The "item" used must be a physical object that the character can hold or manipulate.
  • Unlike the board game, your prompt is NOT required to imply murder. The scenario implied can be anything at all! (As always, please tag properly!)
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Natsuo & Yuzuko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Natsuo/Yuzuko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

me, with a lot of regret, here--

Do you remember once I told you I loved you to the moon and back? Well, I did; I do. I always will.

He finds Haru by the docks, where he usually is. Haru once told him elemental magic was instinctive, best when you were near the elements yourself and able to feel them. Haru’s always done best with ice, but Rin thinks that’s due his affinity for water. He is patient and stubborn in the ways that Rin has never been. Where Rin has often been about action and progress, Haru has always been more content to wait and see, to stay where he is and let the world come at him. And here in the Tower, they are even more protected, even more shielded. The Chantry and the Templars say it is for their own safety, but they all know it’s because it’s the easiest way to control the mages and the spark of potential they hold.

They don’t talk so much, in these hours. These hours are for silence, for companionship, for his hand to thread through Haru’s and wish for more than a life confined to some tiny island and a tower that stretches to the sky. They could be more, he thinks. So he brushes a kiss over Haru’s knuckles and rubs idle circles on the back of his hand, while Haru leans his head on Rin’s shoulder, familiar and comforting.

See, the thing about love is that it makes you do stupid things. And boy, did I do a lot of stupid things for you. I still would, you know.

He knows he shouldn’t be here, that it’s not allowed, that this could well cost him too much but he thinks the chance is worth it. Rin’s hardly the first Templar to have fallen in love with a mage, and probably not the only one have attempted this. So he goes down to the basement, to where they keep the phylacteries. It’s not hard really, but he supposes getting in is hardly the issue.

It’s getting out.

The shelves are lined with phylacteries, some glowing, some dim. He wonder how many mages still have their phylacteries here, even after they’ve left the Tower. Many of them are covered in dust and more dust, but the one he’s looking for isn’t too difficult to find. It would be so easy to smash them all, to destroy a system that’s been rotting under his feet since he’s become part of it.

He’s only really here for just the one, though.

There’s nothing special about it, only that it’s Haru’s. So he takes it, and he hopes that he’ll survive long enough to give it to Haru.

omg my HEART. *blissful sigh* I love the heavy sense of despair/resignation that permeates the piece. It's subtle but it's so real and it just works perfectly with the prompt and how also Rin doesn't think about a FUTURE with himself and Haru, just getting Haru free. He's too sharp to think about impossible futures, too aware that there's no happy ending, but also aware of how much damage he could do if he destroyed all the phylacteries - how much less likely it is that he'd then make it to Haru, (how likely it is that all the mages would be Tranquiled or executed rather than risk a mass escape, lbr) and just. Yes. Heartbreak, lack of hope, all the good stuff. Thank you. XD
