Bonus Round 5: Clue

Clue

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

Sometimes, all you need are a few little details to imagine something bigger. This round is inspired by a classic board game with a cast of colorful characters, but for SASO your only limits on "who", "where", and "with what" are what you can imagine (and the SASO fandom list, of course)!

This round closes on 5 August @ 7PM EDT. (Countdown Timer.)

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES
  • Submit prompts by commenting to this post with the format of a Clue mystery - "[character] in the [location] with [item]", along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
    • Example: Sawamura Daichi in the teachers' lounge with the Hello Kitty! lunchbox
    • The person in your prompt MAY be a member of your ship, but is not REQUIRED to be part of your ship. They must still be a named character from a SASO-nominated fandom.
    • Your place must be a physical location, not a state of being or a state of being. However, this location is not required to be real, nor must it be from the same setting as the characters.
    • The "item" used must be a physical object that the character can hold or manipulate.
    • Unlike the board game, your prompt is NOT required to imply murder. The scenario implied can be anything at all! (As always, please tag properly!)
    • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Natsuo & Yuzuko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Natsuo/Yuzuko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
  • Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your Clue-inspired fanwork.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
  • Here is a prompt/fill index for your convenience.

The potion he's making needs water from a delta, specifically, and Tatsuya frowns over his old book, flipping through it and trying to see if there are any ways to get around it. He's been making potions for years now, and most ingredients have something that can be used in replacement, in case they can't be found. Something with the same magical properties, that would work the same way in whichever potion it was being used in.

Except his potion book tells him nothing. The two spell books he consults don't have any solutions for him either and Tatsuya sighs, resigning himself to a trip to the very end of the river. It's out of his way, but that's not really the problem here.

It's the stories he's heard, about the demon who lives at the delta. Magical creatures are drawn to most potion ingredients for their magical properties as well, but this particular demon protects the water at the delta, refusing to share it.

Tatsuya needs this potion to work if he wants to complete the job that he's being paid to do, so he goes to the delta anyway, prepared to fight a demon if need be. He doesn't feel particularly optimistic when he sees dejected witches along the way, all heading in the opposite direction of Tatsuya, empty handed after having given up against the demon. He pauses by the river and shakes his head, determined to try as hard as he can. He's not going to fail here. He'll find a way.

All he needs is a single drop, but he brings a cup with him, so that he can store it and save himself another trip down here if he ever needs this particular water again. He leaves his things behind and goes out to the delta with just the cup held in his hand.

The demon finds him immediately, appearing out of nowhere, so big and imposing that he blocks Tatsuya's path without even having to try.

"You're not getting my water," the demon replies.

"Just a cup?" Tatsuya asks, looking up at the demon with what he hopes is his most convincing smile.

"Oh," the demon breathes, looking down at him. "You're beautiful."

Tatsuya smiles, and he's about to use that as a way to push past the demon, but before he can, the demon suddenly shakes his head.

"You're too beautiful. It's weird. I can't even stand to look at you. There's no way I'm going to trust you. I'm not letting you have any water."

"What's your name?" Tatsuya asks, lowering the cup to his side.

"You can have my true name if you want," the demon replies. "It's Murasakibara Atsushi. There's not a single spell in the world using my true name that can make me do something I don't want to. I'm too stubborn for that. If you try to force me, I'll crush you."

"You're a handsome demon, Atsushi," Tatsuya tells him warmly. "I brought some cookies with me for the journey. Would you like some?"

Atsushi frowns suspiciously. "Cookies? I've never had them."

"Stay right here," Tatsuya tells him, and walks back to where he's left his belongings, pulling out the bag of homemade cookies he brought to snack on while travelling. He gives Atsushi one, watching with satisfaction as he eats it.

Atsushi loves them so much that Tatsuya doesn't even mind the fact that he eats the rest of them too.

"You made these?" Atsushi asks, looking at Tatsuya. "With what magic? I can't taste any magic in them."

"I used an oven," Tatsuya tells him, smiling. "If you let me have some water, I'll make you some more cookies."

Atsushi grumbles under his breath, thinking it over, before he takes the cup from Tatsuya's hand, filling it himself and then handing it back.

"There. You didn't take any water. I just happened to fill a cup and then gave it to you. Okay?"

Tatsuya smiles even wider. "I'll visit you with some more cookies once I've finished my potion. Give me three days?"

"Three days," Atsushi replies, nodding. "If you don't come back in three days, I'll crush you. You have my water. I can follow it to you, if I have to."

Tatsuya raises the cup to Atsushi. "You won't have to."
