Bonus Round 6: Remixes

The goal is in sight, participants! Let's finish strong by drawing upon the thousands of fanworks you've created this summer and putting them in new lights.

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.

RULES

• Choose a fanwork created by other participants in a previous main or bonus round of SASO 2017 and create a new piece based on it. You could create a fanart of another work, an FST inspired by a piece’s style, a podfic of someone else's work, retell another person’s fanfic from another point of view, create a new fanfic inspired by a great piece of art... go wild! Sequels do count as remixes, with limits: "And then the same thing happened again" is not ok, but "And then some totally new thing happened" is fine, and please don't create only sequels.
• You cannot remix your teammates' works. You cannot remix your own works. You can remix fills that were created to your own prompts.
• You can remix a remix, but if we see any remix chains we'll be upset, so do this with moderation and restraint.
• You must have permission from the original creator. There's a blanket permissions post here (feel free to add yourself to it!), or you can leave a comment on their original post asking for permission.
• You must include the dreamwidth link to the original work in your post.
• Since all fills are based on previous works, there will be no prompts for this round. Simply post your fill as a comment in response to this post.
• Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

Bonus round shenanigans all happen in the comments below. Brand-new works only, please.

Required Work Minimums:

• 400 words (prose)
• 400px by 400px (art)
• 14 lines (poetry)
• 8 tracks (fanmixes)

There is no max work cap.

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Mayuzumi walks back into the room that Akashi has rented for them in the local inn, holding the stolen amulet in his mouth just so he can drop it onto Akashi's desk.

"That was unnecessary," Akashi says mildly, then, "I'd rather you didn't put magical artifacts into your mouth. You can't always know what will happen, if you do. Especially if the artifact realises that it's being stolen."

"It's a hunk of metal," Mayuzumi protests, licking his lips to get the tang of old metal out of his mouth. "Not even a particularly attractive one."

"That depends entirely on personal opinion," Akashi replies. "If you knew what this could do…"

"Tell me, then," Mayuzumi replies, collapsing onto the double bed. "So I know what my hard efforts were for."

Akashi looks at him with a smile, standing up and wrapping the chain the amulet is attached to around his hand. He joins Mayuzumi on the bed, pressing up against his side.

"Here." Akashi puts the chain around Mayuzumi's neck. "Lie to me."

Mayuzumi frowns. "What do you mean?"

There's amusement dancing in Akashi's mismatched eyes. "Tell me that you're a cat."

Mayuzumi snorts. "Fine. I'm a―nngh, oww, fuck, what is that? Is that the amulet? Seriously? A truth amulet? It only works when someone's wearing it, though, what's the point of that?"

"It needs to be improved, I'll allow that, but the truth spell is the difficult part. If I reverse its effect, I'll have an amulet that forces the truth out of people instead."

"You're terrifying," Mayuzumi says, and when he sees Akashi's lips quirk upward he adds, "I don't mean that as a compliment. There's something incredibly wrong with you if you think that people are going to willingly spend time with you if you have an amulet that causes them pain every time they try to lie to you. …It would be easier if you could find a way around the spell to just compel them to tell the truth instead. That way, they won't notice."

Akashi smiles, kissing along Mayuzumi's jaw. "This is why I knew you'd be helpful to have around."

"You know how to make me feel wanted, don't you?" Mayuzumi asks dryly, wrapping his arm around Akashi while using the other to pull the amulet from around his neck, pressing it back into Akashi's hands. "Here. You can keep that. I don't want to touch it until you're done messing around with it."

Akashi wraps the chain around his hand, holding the amulet in his closed fist, and looks up at Mayuzumi. "I'm glad I have you in my life, Chihiro."

Mayuzumi snorts, but presses a kiss to Akashi's forehead. "If you say so."
