Bonus Round 7: Free For All

Free-For-All

Let's finish SASO 2017 with a bang. This bonus bonus round allows any kind of prompt imaginable in any format. The sky's the limit!

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.

RULES
  • Submit prompts by commenting to this post with literally any kind of prompt, along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms, with the following caveats:
    • Large image prompts should be thumbnailed and linked to, as explained here.
    • Fanart/fanfiction/fanwork prompts are only allowed if you created the fanwork yourself or if you have explicit permission to use it, and proof of permission must be linked to in your prompt header.
    • Quote prompts can come from almost anything, but please don't quote personal conversations you've had or overheard.
    • Reposting prompts is fine, but be respectful and keep crediting in mind. A prompt belongs to the person who posted it to this round, and who can fill it is determined by whether or not they are on that person's team.
      • If reposting a br2 (tic tac toe) prompt, please post each prompt square as its own individual comment. Posting tic tac toe boards wholesale will crash our br scorer and the bonus doesn't apply for this round, anyway.
    • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Akira & Hikaru). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Akira/Hikaru). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
  • Besides that, if you want to prompt something, regardless of format—even formats not previously allowed in SASO—go right ahead. If you're unsure you can ask us for clarification, but tbh just go for the gold.
  • Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with a fanwork.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
  • Here is a prompt/fill index for your convenience.

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post).

There's something about the written word that Tatsuya likes. Perhaps it's the permanence of it; the fact that he needs to commit to the thoughts he is putting into words. There is no hiding from what he feels this way, and he shouldn't be surprise that he can't stop writing about Atsushi.

It should surprise him even less that he writes in the form of songs. Atsushi can't be contained to simple words, not even to phrases or rhymes. He needs music attached to it, the swell of strings, the lonely sound of piano keys accompanied by nothing else. Tatsuya doesn't think that there's any one language in the entire world that has been created with enough depth, enough words to convey exactly what he feels about Atsushi, but if he pairs them together, music and lyrics both, he feels like he can get across much more of what he feels. He writes notes onto sheet music that tug at his heart, the same way he feels when he sees Atsushi after they've been apart for a while. There are repeating phrases he writes into the music, something soft and comforting and familiar, and it reminds Tatsuya of their high school days together, the easiness with which they fell into step with each other, the fact that they were always within reach, whenever they needed each other for anything.

Atsushi doesn't know that these songs exist. Tatsuya makes sure of it. They're not for anyone to hear, they're just a way for him to deal with the way he feels for Atsushi when it threatens to spill over, when he can't hold it in any longer.

At least, Atsushi isn't meant to know that they exist. When he visits Tatsuya's apartment, going through his laptop to find an episode of a show so that they can watch it together, he ends up clicking on the wrong thing.

Tatsuya, stupidly, has named his folder of songs Atsushi.

"What's this?" Atsushi asks, and he doesn't wait for an explanation. He simply clicks on the folder to open it, then clicks on the first file that he sees.

The song starts playing immediately, and Tatsuya cringes as he recognises which one it is. He'd written it the night after coming home from a date with Atsushi and it's full of longing, knowing that they'll be too busy to see each other again for a while. His voice is soft and sad, even to his own ears, and it's embarrassing, that it's all there, for Atsushi to hear.

"Tatsu-chin," Atsushi says softly, and reaches for him.

"It's nothing." Tatsuya tries to laugh it off, but it's difficult to put his poker face up when Atsushi's already seen past it.

Atsushi pulls him closer, both arms wrapping around him tightly. "I felt the same way that night too, y'know. Can I listen to the rest?"

Tatsuya smiles, shutting his eyes. "Maybe later, when I don't have to sit here and watch you hear them. Does that sound okay?"

"Yeah," Atsushi agrees, and kisses his cheek. "I like hearing your voice. Maybe it'll make me miss you less when I'm waiting until we can see each other again."
