Bonus Round 7: Free For All

Free-For-All

Let's finish SASO 2017 with a bang. This bonus bonus round allows any kind of prompt imaginable in any format. The sky's the limit!

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.

RULES
  • Submit prompts by commenting to this post with literally any kind of prompt, along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms, with the following caveats:
    • Large image prompts should be thumbnailed and linked to, as explained here.
    • Fanart/fanfiction/fanwork prompts are only allowed if you created the fanwork yourself or if you have explicit permission to use it, and proof of permission must be linked to in your prompt header.
    • Quote prompts can come from almost anything, but please don't quote personal conversations you've had or overheard.
    • Reposting prompts is fine, but be respectful and keep crediting in mind. A prompt belongs to the person who posted it to this round, and who can fill it is determined by whether or not they are on that person's team.
      • If reposting a br2 (tic tac toe) prompt, please post each prompt square as its own individual comment. Posting tic tac toe boards wholesale will crash our br scorer and the bonus doesn't apply for this round, anyway.
    • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Akira & Hikaru). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Akira/Hikaru). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
  • Besides that, if you want to prompt something, regardless of format—even formats not previously allowed in SASO—go right ahead. If you're unsure you can ask us for clarification, but tbh just go for the gold.
  • Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with a fanwork.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
  • Here is a prompt/fill index for your convenience.

If you see anyone breaking the code of conduct (e.g., causing drama, being rude) anywhere (not just DW), please contact the mods immediately.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post).

Have a question? Check The FAQ first. If you still need help, feel free to contact the mods. Happy fanworking!

I am 100% sure we never discussed Naruto or how much I love Itachi or how Itachi’s true motivations and his love for Sasuke and Konoha fucked me up SO MUCH. So. HOW DID YOU KNOW TO MAKE THIS? I haven’t even started writing and my stomach hurts so much!

Warnings for blood, death, unhealthy sibling relationships.

***

There is blood everywhere, dripping from the walls, from the leaves, from his fingers, from his heart. His whole chest hurts but nobody has landed a single blow on him.

Nobody was good enough; he has always been the clan’s prodigy.

Riku toddles forwards on his little legs, crying and scared, and Tomoe knows what he must do.

He has killed children younger than Riku. He has killed babes in their cribs, he has murdered little cousins that ran crying to him for protection from whatever had killed their parents.

The orders were to kill everyone that shared his blood.

Everyone.

“Foolish little brother,” he says as he picks up Riku and presses a blood-wet kiss to his forehead. “I am the monster you should have run from.”

His orders are to not leave a single member of the Yagami clan alive in Konoha, barring himself.

He leaves Konoha and takes Riku with him.

*

Infiltrating the Akatsuki is surprisingly easy. Perhaps it’s because of Riku. Nobody really believes that Tomoe would put his own baby brother, the only survivor of the massacre, in danger by betraying the organization.

Nobody really likes babysitting duty and Tomoe doesn’t trust any of them with Riku anyway. He takes Riku with him on his missions, carefully hiding Riku away before he goes in for a kill and giving him a little drugged milk so he won’t expose their hiding place by crying.

*

Riku grows up to hate him, of course. Tomoe can’t tell him the truth of why he killed the clan.

The assassination attempts on Riku’s part go from being a monthly to a weekly thing. There’s a betting pool in the Akatsuki as to whether Riku will ever succeed.

*

“Why don’t you run away if you hate me so much?” Tomoe asks one night, catching Riku’s wrists with the garotte still hanging between his hand.

“Because then who will avenge them?” Riku scowls down at him then lets go of the garotte, letting it drop onto Tomoe’s chest. It falls like a necklace, glimmering with malice instead of gems.

“Do you even remember them?” Tomoe asks, black eyes staring up at Riku’s summer sky gaze. They are day and night, the damned and the saved, and the only hope Tomoe has for absolution lies within Riku’s chest.

Riku looks away.

“I raised you,” Tomoe reminds him softly, “I spared you.”

“You wouldn’t have had to raise me if you hadn’t killed our parents,” Riku shoots back, hands coming down to rest against Tomoe’s bare chest. He digs his nails in, a petty piece of pain that is all he can manage against his far more skilled brother, and Tomoe smiles at the sting of skin breaking.

“Yes,” Tomoe agrees, “But I did.”

Foolish little brother, grow up fast and kill me soon.
