Bonus Round 7: Free For All

Free-For-All

Let's finish SASO 2017 with a bang. This bonus bonus round allows any kind of prompt imaginable in any format. The sky's the limit!

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.

RULES
  • Submit prompts by commenting to this post with literally any kind of prompt, along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms, with the following caveats:
    • Large image prompts should be thumbnailed and linked to, as explained here.
    • Fanart/fanfiction/fanwork prompts are only allowed if you created the fanwork yourself or if you have explicit permission to use it, and proof of permission must be linked to in your prompt header.
    • Quote prompts can come from almost anything, but please don't quote personal conversations you've had or overheard.
    • Reposting prompts is fine, but be respectful and keep crediting in mind. A prompt belongs to the person who posted it to this round, and who can fill it is determined by whether or not they are on that person's team.
      • If reposting a br2 (tic tac toe) prompt, please post each prompt square as its own individual comment. Posting tic tac toe boards wholesale will crash our br scorer and the bonus doesn't apply for this round, anyway.
    • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Akira & Hikaru). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Akira/Hikaru). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
  • Besides that, if you want to prompt something, regardless of format—even formats not previously allowed in SASO—go right ahead. If you're unsure you can ask us for clarification, but tbh just go for the gold.
  • Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with a fanwork.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
  • Here is a prompt/fill index for your convenience.

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post).

Thanks SO MUCH for letting me play in your wonderful verse. Warnings for blood and injury.

***

The injuries from the fight against Worthless had yet to heal when Karasuno came for them again.

Pridefulness and Indomitable stood side by side, bracketing a slim young boy with hair that flamed upwards. He was a candle burning bright and hot and his eyes held a wildfire’s wildness.

Kageyama leaned in towards him, leaned despite the meters that separated them, and Tooru knew he had lost.

“This is Hinata!” The Indomitable Sacrifice shouted happily. “He’s your true Sacrifice, Kageyama! He’s Flightless.”

Tooru’s throat burnt, so hot and violent that it felt infected. He watched numbly as the Flightless Sacrifice pushed up his jacket sleeve, exposing the black letters that matched Tobio’s so perfectly.

There. It had happened. Tobio’s true Sacrifice had come for him, his destined partner and now--

“This is why I wouldn’t let you carve your name into me,” he said, surprised by the steadiness of his voice. “Why carry two sets of wounds?”

This would hurt less than when Worthless had lived up (down) to his name; Tooru told himself that and pretended he believed it.

Tobio’s gaze slid off his Sacrifice and back to Tooru. His eyes were bright, so painfully blue - if other the boy was a candle, Tobio was the dark it chased away and the blue of the flame’s heart. They matched even in that.

“You said we’d have to kill you first,” a girl’s voice suddenly spoke. Tooru’s ears flattened against his head and he turned sharply in the direction of the voice; it was Limitless standing there with another male between them, this one with spiky black hair and a frown. The girl continued, “But we found another option.”

She beamed at him, all perky golden sunshine as if she hadn’t cursed him while cradling her Sacrifice to her.

“This is Iwaizumi-kun! He’s a blank Fighter, just like you’re a blank Sacrifice.”

(Blank no more, Tooru nearly corrected, but he touched his throat and held his tongue.)

“He can be your Fighter and Kageyama-kun can be with Hinata-kun where he belongs.”

Tooru’s tail lashed angrily against the backs of his own knees. He might have - when he was younger - fantasized about being part of a true complete unit, of choosing a name and having someone whose name matched his but he’d been young then. Naive.

This wasn’t a kindness on Karasuno’s part. It was for Kageyama’s sake so that he could feel he wasn’t abandoning Toori.

Tobio looked back at Tooru, then at Iwaizumi. Iwaizumi’s brown eyes locked on Tobio’s and for a second, the two Fighters looked ready to break into a spell battle right there.

Tooru went to brace himself, then stopped. If - if there was a spell battle now, it would be Iwaizumi whose Sacrifice he’d be.

It would be Tobio hurting him to show his new loyalty to Karasuno, his new loyalty to his true Sacrifice.

“I don’t want you as my Sacrifice,” Tobio said and the shock in Tooru’s eyes was mirrored in all of Karasuno’s. “Go be Iwaizumi-kun’s Sacrifice. He’s blank. You can be Flightless with him.”

“What are you doing?” Tooru hissed, the words tight and strangled in his throbbing throat. “I don’t need your pity.”

Tobio pulled a knife out of a pocket; a single slash cut through the word FLIGHTLESS on his wrist and then he flipped the knife around, holding it by its bloody blade and offering the handle to Tooru.

“We’re a complete unit,” he said, eyes on Tooru but his voice pitched for all of Karasuno to hear. “Give us both a new name.”

Tooru’s hand shook as he accepted the knife but it was steady as he started to carve into Tobio’s other arm.

FLAWLESS, the wet red wound said and Tobio smiled as he took the knife back and Tooru yanked up his own sleeve, offering his bare forearm to be marked.

“Nice name,” Tobio said and pressed the knife in far too lightly to scar.

Tooru placed his hand over Tobio’s and pushed the knife better. “It suits us.”
