Bonus Round 6: Recs

SASO 2015 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

All good things must come to an end, and that includes the SASO. In this last bonus round, let's all relax and celebrate each other's achievements!

(Don't forget about the "Encore" bonus round either!)

This round ends at 7PM on August 22 EDT. Countdown Timer.

RULES

• Recommend at least three fanworks from main or bonus rounds. Your recommendations don’t have to be connected in any way, and you do not need permission to recommend a work.
• Don't rec your own work. You can recommend things created by your own team, but please spread the love to other teams too.
• Each recommendation must include at least two sentences explaining why that fanwork is awesome. Please use the format specified below.
• You may recommend as many works as you like, as long as they are posted separately in groups of at least three.
• There will be no prompts for this round. Simply post each fill/recommendation list as a comment in response to this post.

Why is this work awesome?: I actually like this ship a lot because they're both silly and enthusiastic on the inside, even if they seem really different on the outside. So to receive a fill for it was really delightful, because it's so rare! I love how bright and cheery this art is, the look of real affection (and also a bit of "oh no here we go again") on Rei's face, and how their energy levels are so contrasting in not only the words they say but in their body language. This art tells a whole story in a single image and I love it. *_*

Why is this work awesome?: happy sigh!! I was so happy to see rinrei as a competing team in the event, because they're one of my favorite not-ultra-rare free ships. This fic perfectly highlights why they're so good for each other, because they can offer each other such mutual respect and support. I love how they communicate and trust each other. It's so romantic *_* and that it involves flying and airplanes is a huge bonus for me, because I love them!

Why is this work awesome?: Sooooo soumomo is another huge huge ship for me and I have wanted to see them in a petplay setting for such a long time. This fill knocked my wishes OUT OF THE PARK. Sousuke is imo at his best when he's in a teaching position like this, when he's helping others to achieve their full potential. Momo is so eager and squirmy and honestly devoted, and Sousuke is so cagey and shows his affection rather than tells it; this fic perfectly captures that yin/yang dynamic that they have. Also, it's super hot. SO WONDERFUL.

Why is this work awesome?: I threw up this prompt in memory of all the hours I have spent in pokemon endlessly riding my nike to get just the right pokemon, and thinking about how my OT3 would do the same, either out of love for pokemon or for bikes. Bisharp made a super cute fic that was exactly what I was going for. Naruko and Imaizumi’s bickering is exactly on point, and Onoda is still an adorable ray of sunshine. It’s too cute, please read.

Why is this work awesome?: This is such a great fill for a HIMYM-ish AU prompt I made. Essentially, Imaizumi and Naruko take the roles of Marshal and Lily as the established relationship, and Onoda is their roommate. But, when Imaizumi and Naruko realize that Onoda does so much for the both of them, they do the logical thing and decide maybe they should date him to. I love that this fill essentially plays my prompt straight, and gives me so many feels, ahhh!

I have always thought about how really adorable these two would be together, because they're both meek but have such a strong drive towards excellence and being the ace and leading their team, etc. I love non-linear storytelling, and this is used so excellently, that we can see the strength of their relationship as it was built one brick at a time. Why is this work awesome?: One of my favorite poems begat one of my favorite fills. The strong mood in this is just so mesmerizing. I love the way they suffuse the scene in light, that you can sense the weight of the emotion and their relationship in every tiny gesture. I love too the meta insight it provides on Nori and Miyuki, how they each work individually and together. Just a gem of a fic.
