Bonus Round 2: AUs
Bonus Round 2: AUs
SASO 2015 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).
This round is made for exploration of all those "what-if?" scenarios, like "what if my favorite sports anime was actually a spaghetti western?" or "what if everything was the same except everyone was actually a car?"
This round ends at 7PM on June 27 EDT. Countdown Timer.

PROMPT: TEAM FUKUTOMI JUICHI/KINJOU SHINGO
Fantasy AU in which Nozomi is an oracle whose predictions are renowned for their accuracy and Eli is the queen whose services she has elected to pledge herself to.
FILL: TEAM IWAIZUMI HAJIME/OIKAWA TOORU, G
word count: 983
eee...this is my first time writing them i hope it's fine!
The castle, Eli knows, is bustling with commotion noise--as it always is. However, the throne room is silent; she's sent away her entire court, advisors, servants, everyone. The chamber echoes with the tapping of her toe agains the finished flooring. It's still early until the oracle arrives, but Eli grows impatient. Whispers of a war have been brewing among the neighboring kingdoms, and as the queen of Otonokizaka, she is not going to stand by quietly.
Her current advisors just won't do--they've been urging to begin battle since day one, but Eli is not going to simply send her countrymen into a war without knowing first that it's absolutely unavoidable.
The words surrounding Nozomi Tojo's prowess as an oracle are the highest of nature, renowning her for accuracy and depth. Eli had sought out her services immediately after catching word; knowing the future, if even a vague one, of the kingdom she ruled was of the utmost importance in the face of potential stormclouds gathering on the horizon.
Now, Eli sat in wait for the great and rumored Nozomi Tojo, who had been summoned to the palace days before, to arrive.
"My, my," a light, melodic voice sounded from the windows, where deep, blue curtains hung from the high, arched glass. A rustling, and then a figure emerged from behind the curtains, tossing one long, dark pigtail over her shoulder. "I hope you haven't been waiting long, your Majesty."
Eli stared at her--Nozomi's beauty was spoken of across the land, too, but Eli couldn't have imagined in her wildest daydreams the creature that stood before her now. It was like--looking into the face of an angel--
"Ah, your Majesty," Nozomi interrupts Eli's chain of thoughts, and she berates herself for letting her mind wander off course. Theres a serious matter at hand, and she can't afford to lose focus. In front of her, Nozomi bows deeply, but not without a playful glint in her eyes that tells Eli she's a lot more than what meets the eye. "You know," Nozomi says after she rises, her voice lilting and sweet and musical, "your beauty is legendary, your Majesty. But I couldn't have imagined that you'd be even more radiant in person."
Nozomi's smile is innocent, but her eyes reveal a glimmer of wickedness that Eli does not miss.
"Thank you," Eli says, trying to remain professional. "Your power as an oracle are legendary as well, which is why I have summoned you here today."
"My, my...summoned me. How exciting, indeed," Nozomi says, shuffling through a deck of cards that Eli is quite sure hadn't been there before. "Yes, a little birdy did tell me that you were in need of some guidance from the cards."
"Yes," Eli confirms, tucking one lock of blonde hair that had come undone form her updo behind her ear, careful not to get it snagged in the crown sitting atop her head. "You see, there are troubling signs recently. Whispers of battle and war, and upset among the alliance of kingdoms. My advisors have been telling me to prepare the forces and deliver the first strike; however, I do not want to throw my citizens into an unnecessary war."
"I see," Nozomi says, and--when had she been that close? Suddenly, she's in front of Eli, right beside the throne. She has one arm draped over it casually, leaning against it and peering into Eli's eyes. Her face is that much lovelier up close, and Eli has to make a conscious effort not to look startled. "That sounds very troublesome. You must care about your people a lot."
"Of course I do," Eli says, switching her gaze to straight ahead. Despite herself, she can feel her cheeks starting to heat up. "I am their Queen. I have to make sure they are safe."
"Hmm," Nozomi muses, her melodious voice close to Eli's ear. "I see. Not all other rulers think the same as you, you know. Power. Glory. They like those things much better than safety."
"Is that so?" Eli says, even though she knows this already. She'd spent her entire life at court, observing the ins and outs of the political atmosphere. How could she not know?
"So," Nozomi announces suddenly, drawing herself up from where she'd been all but draped around Eli's shoulders as she dangled her torso over the throne boldly, "you'd like to know your fortune, then? What lies in store for you?" She gives a mischievous little smile, and Eli does her best not to stare.
"No, not me--just--the kingdom," she tries, but Nozomi is twirling around until she's in front of the throne. Nozomi bends down on one knee, and reaches out both of her beautiful, smooth hands to take one of Eli's. Her skin is warm, and Nozomi lowers her eyes and her head, until her lips meet the ring nestled on Eli's finger.
"I predict," Nozomi says after the kiss of fealty is done, "that you and I will be spending a lot of time together from now on, my Queen." She's still holding Eli's hand in both of her own, and her skin is warm and soft and makes the blood rush straight to Eli's cheeks. However, she can't bring herself to remove her hand from the grip, not when Nozomi's eyes are such a beautiful glittering green, not when she can hear her own pulse in her ears as Nozomi smiles that tricky little smile up at her.
"I look forward to serving the kingdom," Nozomi says finally, and she rises from her crouch and lets go of Eli's hand. Eli curls her fingers in towards her palm, trying to preserve some of that warmth, but it's not the same.
"I...look forward to it as well," she says, but Nozomi has already gone.
Eli holds her hand to her chest and sighs deeply. What exactly has she gotten herself into?
