Bonus Round 1: Memory

Bonus Round 1: Memory

Let's start our summer by looking at the past—things that happened in canon, or maybe in an AU, or maybe just as wishful thinking...

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on June 9 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES
  • Submit prompts by commenting to this post! You prompt should consist of one scenario beginning with the phrase "Remember when", along with any ship/ot3/etc. from our list of nominated fandoms.
    • Your prompts can take the form of recalling canon facts/events ("Remember when Nozomi and Eli got parfaits after school?"), non-canon events ("Remember when Megumi and Jin met at the Tadokoro Family Reunion?"), or somewhere in-between ("Remember when Bokuto and Kenma first met?"). Headcanons and AUs are welcome!
    • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Rei & Nagisa). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Rei/Nagisa). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
  • Post fills by leaving a responding comment to a prompt with your newly-created work.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

    SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

    For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
    Fills 4-10: 10 points each
    Fills 11-20: 5 points each
    Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

    Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only.

Have a question? Check The FAQ first. If you still need help, feel free to contact the mods. Happy fanworking!

Fire spirits were set lose, their spark children jumping from their summoners' staves into anything that can be burned to the ground. Their village was in ruin, the elders slaughtered in their sleep before the raiders set their eyes upon its people. Few stayed to fight, most had already fled only to be caught by the vagrants' crew on standby outside of the town. No one could blame, their village was small and out of ways, hardly any outsiders came and most were redirected because of the amount of magic in the air, as such most did not practice fighting spells. The runes set around their village had been deactivated, the raiders had a somewhat powerful sorcerer amongst them giving them a free pass into the secluded village. And upon entering their walls, they burned down whatever was invaluable and allowed their hell hounds to gather the small pile of gold and sacred scriptures.

Amongst those who stayed was the raven-haired priestess, her attendants fighting valiantly with her against the enemies who wanted to take the village's life stone-their absolute treasure that guaranteed the sustenance of everything and everyone branded with the village mark. It was Kiyoko's sole duty to protect it, the sole reason she spent years training and amassing as much knowledge as she can to protect her people.

Firing off a spell of her own towards an enemy summoner she left her left side open, as such a Fire Spirit had a clear shot to consume her arm. Biting her tongue to keep herself from screaming in pain, she quickly flicked her finger to summon a Frozen Spirit. The pain numbed to some degree she continued fighting with what remaining strength she had pushing the enemy back, away from their temple containing the life stone and some children who Hitoka, the chief healer, had grabbed before running back into the fray.

Kiyoko could not afford to spend time worrying about Hitoka. But with each passing moment, as the fire around grew larger, she grew more anxious. She was desperately trying to think of a spell to counteract the enchanted fire, but the Fire Spirits were powered by immense hate and malice that she couldn't disspell them despite the numerous Frozen Spirits she called out. She had already lost some of her attendants to the enemy, her only hope was that they struck down more than what the enemy had.

A shout came from a group running towards them, Hitoka with a Water Spirit shield was running towards them, two young children in her arms, one visibly bleeding, another running, clutching Hitoka's robe. Despite her petite form, she was moving as quickly as she can to bring the children to the temple where they can be kept safe for as long as they can defend it. Kiyoko orders an attendant to cover her back as she keenly covers Hitoka whose Water Spirit had already taken too much damage.

She was only a few yards away when an enemy sorcerer, appeared from within a burning building. Kiyoko quickly called a Frozen Spirit to aid the group but having forgotten about her injured left arm gave her a moment's delay. The enemy had already struck down the older child and was aiming towards the healer. Hitoka threw the children towards Kiyoko and the other temple attendants while her Water Spirit sizzled against the newly summoned fire. She raised her arm to protect her while the other was conjuring what looked to be another Water Spirit. But it was too late for both of them to realize that the sorcerer had drawn a dagger and thrusted it into the blond healer's throat. Kiyoko rushed towards them, eyes locked onto the sorcerer's silver blade, but Hitoka's hand reached out, palm towards Kiyoko- stop. And so she did, her body moving on its own. She stooped down to gather the two smaller children, whose lives Hitoka chose to protect as the blond healer summoned a Death Spirit- an unholy being who consumes both summoner and her enemy. She watched as the Death Spirit took hold of the enemy sorcerer and Hitoka- their souls for him to keep. And just like the scarlet river trailing from her beloved's neck, Kiyoko's tears fell.
