Let's start our summer by looking at the past—things that happened in canon, or maybe in an AU, or maybe just as wishful thinking...

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on June 9 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible. (There are changes from last year!)

RULES

Submit prompts by commenting to this post! You prompt should consist of one scenario beginning with the phrase "Remember when", along with any ship/ot3/etc. from our list of nominated fandoms.
- Your prompts can take the form of recalling canon facts/events ("Remember when Nozomi and Eli got parfaits after school?"), non-canon events ("Remember when Megumi and Jin met at the Tadokoro Family Reunion?"), or somewhere in-between ("Remember when Bokuto and Kenma first met?"). Headcanons and AUs are welcome!
- Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Rei & Nagisa). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Rei/Nagisa). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!

Remember when KyouYaha won backstage passes to the Muse concert and got to met Yahaba's best girl?

Shigeru is dejected that morning, and Kentarou doesn't even need to ask why, because he already knows. It's all that Shigeru has been talking about for the past two weeks, after all; he's been spending every last yen of his pocket money entering the lottery to win backstage passes to the µs concert next weekend, and the winners were announced at midnight last night.

He's slow to change in the club room, his shoulders slumped, and it's early enough that no one else is around just yet, so Kentarou comes up behind him, pressing a kiss to his shoulder.

"Hey," Shigeru sighs, leaning into his boyfriend's touch. "Sorry. I'll get over it in a bit. I just… I really wanted to win, okay? I was trying not to get ahead of myself and imagine what it would be like to meet my favourite idol, but… she's just so amazing, okay? She works hard and she's determined and she gets so much flack for it, which is just ridiculous and—you've heard me talk about this before. I'll stop."

"What was her name again?" Kentarou asks. "Was that one… Hanayo?"

"Honoka," Shigeru corrects, smiling as he turns to Kentarou, kissing the tip of his nose. "It's easy to get them mixed up if you're not all that invested, I guess."

"Their music's alright," Kentarou murmurs, wrapping his arms around Shigeru's waist. "I mean, we are going to the concert together, right? Even if you didn't win those backstage passes, you still get to see Honoka on stage. That's pretty cool."

"Yeah," Shigeru nods, kissing Kentarou one last time before they both turn away to finish changing. "You have a point, there."

It's hard to keep a secret for an entire week and a half, and it eats away at Kentarou. It sits there at the tip of his tongue, and he burns with the knowledge with just a few words, he could absolutely make Shigeru's day.

But he knows that he's going to get an even better reaction if he waits for it. He knows that it's going to be worth it.

He still checks that the passes are there in their envelope every single day before going to bed, before leaving school, after coming home. He can't wait to see Shigeru's face.

"Hey," Kentarou says, as they get to concert venue, hours early, because of who Shigeru is as a person. "I have something I need to tell you."

"That sounds ominous," Shigeru says warily. "You're not breaking up with me, are you? I know I joke about leaving you for Honoka but I suck too much at talking to girls to actually follow through with that."

Kentarou snorts quietly. "You can't even look my big sister in the eye while you talk to her. You're such a useless bisexual. But no, it's not about that. Actually—maybe it's not something that I need to tell you? It's something I have to show you."

Shigeru waits, and Kentarou pulls the passes out of his pocket.

In the span of five seconds, Shigeru's face does some incredibly interesting things.

First, he frowns, like he doesn't really understand what he's looking at or why Kentarou is showing it to him. Then it clicks, and his eyes go wider than Kentarou has ever seen before. He shakes his head in disbelief. He looks at Kentarou with a look of—anger, jealousy, Kentarou isn't quite sure.

Then, he begins to tear up.

"You won passes," he sniffs. "Fuck you, I wanted to win passes. You didn't even tell me you were entering the lottery! You—oh fuck, you didn't apply for the Hanayo lottery instead of Honoka, did you?"

Kentarou laughs, and he means to shove Shigeru lightly. Instead, his hand just lingers there on Shigeru's side.

"I know who your best girl is, you know. You'd hope I would, when you don't shut up about her." Kentarou grins. "I wanted it to be a surprise. We're going to meet Honoka."

"I love you," Shigeru whispers, covering his mouth with both hands, tearing up again. "I mean, I love Honoka more, but I love you."

The meet and greet doesn't last for very long, and Shigeru spends all the time he gets telling Honoka how much he appreciates her hard work, and it's cute, Kentarou thinks, as he watches.

Honoka is like a ball of sunshine. She's enthusiastic, she's caring, she truly appreciates the fact that Shigeru admires her so much.

"I'm the captain of my volleyball team," Shigeru says, and takes Kentarou's hand. "This is my—ace. Boyfriend. The team's ace. Watching you bring people together to form a team is so inspiring."

She looks between the two of them, and her smile grows even wider. "I'm glad. It's good to see that you know what you want, and you're doing your best to achieve it! Fighto daiyo!"

They're ushered out, and Yahaba's face is red.

"She said the thing."

"I heard her," Kentarou replies, with his hand on Shigeru's back. "Do you need a minute? You look like you might actually explode."

"I really really need to drag you off into a quiet corner and kiss you really hard," Shigeru whispers. "Thank you."

(muffled screaming forever)
