Bonus Round 6: Remixes

Bonus Round 6: Remixes

The event's almost over, and you've made it this far, congrats! This round encourages you to look back at everything the SASO has made and use it as inspiration.

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on August 18 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.

RULES
  • Choose a fanwork created by other participants in a previous main or bonus round of SASO and create a new piece based on it. You could create a fanart of another work, an FST inspired by a piece’s style, retell another person’s fanfic from another point of view, create a new fanfic inspired by a great piece of art... go wild!
  • You cannot remix your teammates' works.
  • You must have permission from the original creator. There's a blanket permissions post here (feel free to add yourself to it!), or you can leave a comment on their original post asking for permission.
  • You must include the dreamwidth link to the original work in your post.
  • Since all fills are based on previous works, there will be no prompts for this round. Simply post your fill as a comment in response to this post.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

Posts not using this format will be understood to be unofficial discussion posts, regardless of what they contain. They, like all comments in this community, are subject to the code of conduct.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many fills as you want!

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only.

Have a question? Check The FAQ first. If you still need help, feel free to contact the mods. Happy fanworking!

FILL: TEAM KURAMOCHI YOUICHI/MIYUKI KAZUYA, T

kuramiyu, daiya no ace - post s2e51 - original fill by starrwinter
580 words
content warnings: allusions to violence, more vivid descriptions in the original fill than here

"you're glaring."

kuramochi blinks. "i'm not."

miyuki arches a brow. "you definitely were."

"well, i wasn't glaring at you if that's what you're worried about."

"i didn't think you were," miyuki responds. he sits up, hospital gown shifting. they'd given it to miyuki despite his token protests, having stripped him of most of his clothing to fully examine the extent of the damage.

kuramochi's mind lingers on the image of miyuki's torso, a patchwork of purples and blues fading into yellow at the edges.

from the moment they pulled off miyuki's shirt, kuramochi saw red.

it's faded some, but miyuki seems determined to needle at him. a few painkillers had miyuki slightly more lucid.

"what's on your mind?" there's a slight slur to miyuki's voice, exhaustion and traces of pain still coloring miyuki's words.

kuramochi shrugs.

"'mochi," miyuki says. "c'mon. s'just me here."

kuramochi doesn't know how to say what's on his mind without sounding, well. ridiculously violent.

he doesn't know how to say he wishes ogawa was here so he could make the brute fully understand the gravity of what he'd done, fully realize the damage he'd cause.

he doesn't know how to say that he wishes that ogawa was here so kuramochi could make him feel what he'd done, in more ways than one. his frustration still roiled in his stomach, hot and toxic.

"don't break down until we win."

his own words still ring in his head.

miyuki hadn't wanted to be treated with kid gloves and so kuramochi didn't. he was brutal, he told himself he was being honest—except. he knows that this anger is not even for miyuki, knows that it's meant for ogawa (and what's honest about that, really).

kuramochi hadn't felt the urge for a fight in years (and while he's aware he'd be outsized, he knows he'd be far from outmatched), but in this moment, his hands itch, nails digging into his palms.

no, he has no idea how to say any of that, and it all sits heavy in his throat, unable to form.

eventually: "it's nothing you need to worry about." he says.

miyuki doesn't look convinced, but his expression eventually relaxes and he eases back onto the bed. "i guess i deserve that," he says.

kuramochi frowns, brow furrowing, until he catches miyuki's meaning.

"i get why you didn't tell anyone, you know," kuramochi says. "i wish you had, but i can't say i'm surprised."

there are two things miyuki would never jeopardize: seido's chance at winning and his chance to play.

(kuramochi isn't sure which comes first, or if even miyuki is able to tell where one ends and the other begins.)

"you didn't have to hide it from me, though," he says quietly.

miyuki shifts so that he looks at kuramochi, head still on the pillow. "you would have said something."

kuramochi has been thinking about that, actually—about whether or not he would have said something if he had confirmation.

"i could've said something during the game," is all he says. "i could've said something before, when it was just a hunch."

miyuki looks away.

kuramochi bites back a sigh. his eyes drift to miyuki's hand, fingertips twitching just a little.

"thank you."

kuramochi looks up. miyuki still isn't looking at him, eyes pointed at the ceiling but not really looking at anything in particular.

"for what?"

miyuki doesn't answer, but for the turning of his hand, so the palm faces upward.

kuramochi knows an invitation when he sees one.

he takes miyuki's hand.
