Bonus Round 7: Recs
RULES
- Recommend at least three fanworks from main or bonus rounds. Your recommendations don’t have to be connected in any way, and you do not need permission to recommend a work.

Why is this work awesome?: Kenma sits on Bokuto to get him to stop his Bokuto nonsense and Kuroo is Kuroo. THIS IS SUPER CUTE?? i smiled /so hard/ reading this? everyone and their voices and reactions are so on point (Bokuto trying to whisper and failing, Kuroo's shit-eating grin at his bro's plight). Bokuto's voice is particularly wonderful??? if i quoted everything i liked i'd be quoting all of his dialogue so i guess i'll just limit myself to: "Kuroo. My dude. My man.", worrying what Kenma will do if he talks too noisily again, being obsessed w/Kenma's hair, being super happy when Kuroo compliments his muscles even tho he's stuck in His Plight, "Betrayal!" [more quietly] "betrayal..." ...ok i p much outlined the entire fic but TLDR this Bokuto is perfect, i love him. i also loved all the references to Bokuto's beefiness, bc i love Bokuto's beefiness and i love thinking abt Kuroo being so Cognizant of it All The Time. i am also really glad that Kenma uses "they" pronouns here; i always like seeing trans hcs but i /particularly/ like they pronouns for Kenma :]

Why is this work awesome?: 13 yo Kuroo & Daishou have the most dramatic, terrible breakup ever. Kai is There. i latched onto the "Daishou & Kuroo are salty middle school exes" hc hard when it was floating around on Twitter, and this is p much everything i could've wanted for the prompt i made?? it reads like a soap opera, esp with all the watching classmates' reactions, & it also feels sooo teenage (with how every little thing can feel like a HUGE DEAL and how everyone is ready to watch the excitement and gossip no matter how much it happens). aaand then, the reveal of /what/ they were arguing about and threatening to break up over is perfect.

Why is this work awesome?: Kuroo & Daishou break up and Kenma has to deal with the aftermath. like the first fill, it feels very Real and very teenager (like... breaking up and then continuing to hang out with each other and with the same circle of friends but needing to keep up the facade of still being Mad at each other because pride, and That One Friend who ends up being stuck in the middle as mediator and being so fed up of it, all of that is so real). again, i love all their classmates' reactions, how nosy everyone is, some ppl starting a fanclub and /shipping them/, omg. Kenma's reactions were also great (wanting to laugh, just playing his game when everyone else is focused on the dramatics, being like "who are you" when someone asks him about what he thinks of what's going on).
i also love how this keeps with the canon of "they've always gotten on each other's nerves" (even when they like each other and are dating!!). we're never really shown /why/ they always got on each other's nerves aside from what we saw in the match, but i like imagining that it went something kinda like this, pfft. i started laughing really hard at the stuff at the end (the emo songs, Kuroo making Daishou take back his belongings (pencils and erasers), and finally Kuroo acting like it was nothing out of the ordinary when they broke up /again/.
i was super happy to get not one but /two/ hilarious fills for this prompt :3
