You've created so much during this event, so here's a round to celebrate each other's achievements!

This round is CLOSED as of 7PM on August 24 EDT. Late fills may be posted, but they will not receive points.

RULES

Recommend at least three fanworks from main or bonus rounds. Your recommendations don’t have to be connected in any way, and you do not need permission to recommend a work.
Don't rec your own work. You can recommend things created by your own team, but please spread the love to other teams too.
Each recommendation must include at least two sentences explaining why that fanwork is awesome. Please use the format specified below.
You may recommend as many works as you like, as long as they are posted separately in groups of at least three.
There will be no prompts for this round. Simply post each fill/recommendation list as a comment in response to this post.

Theme: Eyeshield 21 Fic Fills, Shin Being Thoughtful Edition

Why is this work awesome?: My favorite thing about this fic is how it highlights the ways in which Shin is actually very insightful and empathetic. It isn't just that Shin bought Sena new football spikes because he noticed Sena needs them (and the fact that he notices even a small difference in Sena's performance, notices that Sena is compensating for bad equipment!) but that he bought the exact ones Sena had been eyeing; he noticed the specific thing Sena was interested in. I love that Shin doesn't think about money (typical rich kid, but in the altruistic way) and I love the little cameo from Sakuraba.

Why is this work awesome?: I adore this fic for the atmosphere; it fits in perfectly with canon and the mountain training Shin and Sakuraba go on, expanding on that training in ways you would expect for the series (Shin teaching Sakuraba to fish because it will help him with his catching accuracy! Catching fish as training!) More than that, I adore it as character study; I love seeing Shin through Sakuraba's eyes as Sakuraba slowly realizes what a deliberate and thoughtful person Shin really is. Sakuraba's affection for Shin grows very naturally and the final resolution of that is subtle and understated but also really rewarding.

Why is this work awesome?: I love this fic for Ami's Shin voice. Ami has such a way with him, giving his straightforward, logical brand of thought an underlying warmth and nuance that's really enjoyable. It shines through here in how he takes an interest in what Sakuraba is doing after practice, and through how he tries to reassure Sakuraba about his football playing. It's also a nice parallel to Takami's perspective when he shows up; he, like Sakuraba, isn't a genius player of the style Shin is. But they still have their talents, the thing they can contribute to a team. This story captures a quiet, introspective moment between teammates in a really enjoyable way.
