Bonus Round 3: FSTs

FSTs

SASO 2017 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

Profess your love for your favorite ships with the power of song! In this round, we ask you to create fan soundtracks and use them as inspiration for new fanwork.

Please read this whole post before commenting to ensure that your team gets the most points possible.

RULES
  • Submit prompts in the form of a short playlist (1-6 songs) and a ship from any of our nominated fandoms. Submit only the track listing and a link to where they can be listened to; the idea is for others to interpret what you present. You may also link to lyrics if you would like.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Lilia & Sara). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Lilia/Sara). Please don't say "Any pairing," either.
  • Create content based on the playlists of others! Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
  • Fills may be in any form you choose (except for another FST of course) as long as they are inspired by/fit the mood of the soundtrack they are filling for.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
  • Here is a prompt/fill index for your convenience.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:
First 4 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 5-10: 15 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21-50: 2 points each
Fills 51+: 1 point each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only (see the line of links below this post).

I really want cake right now. Warnings for attempted murder, Stepford Smiler and really unhealthy relationships.

***

Ultimately, the choice had come down to two options: Battenburg cake or marbled cake. The advantage of Battenburg cake was that it looked very attractive, the grid-like slices of cake creating the impression of a lot of work having been necessary. Marbled cake, on the other hand, was far easier and would leave things more to chance.

Oikawa studied the bowl of cake batter pensively. The standard cake batter recipe he used came out a pale yellow rather than white so he’d experimented with using shortening instead of butter as suggested by the Internet. The batter did look far paler than usual but would the shortening affect the batter’s ability to absorb food coloring?

Well. If he messed up, he could always try again. He’d purchased extra sugar and eggs just for this.

He divided the cake batter into three bowls, then used a toothpick to scoop out some forest green food coloring and add it to one bowl. The other bowl received a small dose of rose red which Oikawa briskly stirred into the batter with a spoon. The color was too close to pink so he added just a dab of burgundy red and stirred again. There. Perfect.

The next step was to stir the three bowls together. He had to be careful not to overmix, else the green and red would be faded by the white or mix together in a brown. He just had to mix enough that the colors overlapped each other…

Carefully, with all the concentration of a heart surgeon, Oikawa mixed the batter together.

He poured the finished results into the cake pan, smoothed it out ceremoniously and then popped it into the oven to bake.

While it baked, he could practice his icing skills. This was a birthday cake, after all. It had to be just perfect for his fussy, perfectionist, never-satisfied boyfriend.

Oh. He’d accidentally squeezed the icing tube too tightly and sent icing squirting all over the practice pan.

How did that happen?

Oikawa cleaned it up and then humming to himself peacefully, returned to practicing his writing. When that was done, he formed row after row of roses, each identically sized to its neighbor. Using fondant or sugared flowers would have saved him a lot of time but in his own, Oikawa was just as much a perfectionist as his boyfriend.

The cake took 30 minutes to cook and then 2 hours to cool sufficiently that Oikawa could ice it. He covered the sides in roses, creating colored swirls of red, green and white that continued over the top. In black, he wrote ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY’ and then iced around the letters so the volleyball-esque impression wouldn’t be deserved.

Oikawa studied it with a critical eye and finally nodded to himself.

It was an absolute masterpiece, which was just as it should be.

The best way to kill someone was with love.
