Bonus Round 1: Quotes

SASO 2015 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

PLAY BALL! For this round, we'd like you to take inspiration from songs, sayings, poems, and other kinds of famous words.

Because this is our first full round, please read this post carefully before proceeding!

This round ends at 7PM on June 13 EDT. Countdown Timer.

RULES

• Submit prompts by commenting to this post with a quote attributed to a specific person or character, along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
  • Example: "Hi-ho, Kermit the Frog here!" -Kermit the Frog
  • The quote can come from anywhere. Famous people, poetry, songs, books, movies, your neighbor, etc.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Yachi & Kiyoko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Yachi/Kiyoko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
• Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your quote-inspired fanwork.
• Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
• You cannot fill your team's prompts or your own prompts.

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

In their fourth practice match, Seijou’s manager comes to watch.

Kenji only notices her because she seems to be a fan of the same boy he’s been eyeing since their first match.

It strikes him as a little weird that she’s not fawning over Oikawa the way any other girl who sees him does, and to be perfectly honest she’s not fawning over Hanamaki either, but she’s definitely looking at him a lot. Whenever he serves, she looks rapt; whenever he spikes, she’s holding her breath waiting for the ball to come down through the small holes in their defense. It’s very subtle, but Kenji is good at picking up threats. It’s a skill he’s rather tried to hone for cases such as these.

She’s congratulating him at the end of the match (Seijou won, but only barely; Kenji’s not bitter, or even concerned with it right now), and Kenji is watch with mild interest. He responds to her, he smiles, maybe cracks a joke. She brushes her bangs to the side, tilts her head slightly. It’s very subtle. But it’s enough to make him want to take action.

He breaks away from his team, vaguely aware that Moniwa might have been trying to talk to him, but he can worry about that later.

Hanamaki notices him coming over and excuses himself from her, meeting him by the net. “You’re looking jealous,” he says as a greeting.

Kenji smirks at him. “You’re greeting me with such a vicious accusation? I don’t get jealous.”

Hanamaki crosses his arms, but is still smiling. “Oh, so then you haven’t been aggressively flirting with me every single time we’ve met?”

“Well, that’s definitely something I never said. Are you telling me you knew this whole time?”

He looks genuinely shocked. “Did you think you weren’t being obvious?”

“I thought you were just enjoying the playful banter, maybe planning on letting me down gently at some point. So about Miss Manager-chan…”

Hanamaki raises an eyebrow. “Her name’s Aoki. But anyway, what about her?”

Kenji sucks in a little breath, looks up at the lights, as if he’s considering, then back at Hanamaki. “If you want my honest opinion… She could fuck you good, but I could fuck you better.”

Oh good, that finally got him to blush. “She’s a nice girl, but…” He glances over his shoulder, then back at Kenji.

Kenji cocks his head to the side expectantly, still wearing a small smile.

“I think you’re a little more my type.”
