Bonus Round 1: Quotes

SASO 2015 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

PLAY BALL! For this round, we'd like you to take inspiration from songs, sayings, poems, and other kinds of famous words.

Because this is our first full round, please read this post carefully before proceeding!

This round ends at 7PM on June 13 EDT. Countdown Timer.

RULES

• Submit prompts by commenting to this post with a quote attributed to a specific person or character, along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
  • Example: "Hi-ho, Kermit the Frog here!" -Kermit the Frog
  • The quote can come from anywhere. Famous people, poetry, songs, books, movies, your neighbor, etc.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Yachi & Kiyoko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Yachi/Kiyoko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
• Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your quote-inspired fanwork.
• Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Kuroko didn't think the first time he saw Aomine after middle school would be like this. He still felt it, like something deep in his chest, the ache where their friendship had been. Maybe some part of him sought out Kagami for that reason, maybe he was nothing more than a replacement for a light he couldn't reach. It made him sick to think that way, Kagami deserved better than someone still pining for something he'd lost. Something that no longer existed.

Aomine was leaning against the wall, miraculously alone, and Kuroko didn't know if it was better or worse that Momoi wasn't with him.They hadn't spoke since the last school year ended, but their friendship had evaporated the moment Aomine decided he didn't need him, the ghost of that memory still ached and he almost clutched his chest at the sight of Aomine's shoulders cocked sideways and nonchalant.

"Aomine-kun." Part of him wondered if he should have used san instead, had it really been that long?

"Oi, Tetsu." His voice was deeper, but the inflection was the same, he hadn't sounded excited about anything since second year.

"What are you doing here? This is my school." And it was. Aomine was posted up just outside Seirin's gymnasium and if he didn't leave the rest of the team would see him soon.

He shrugged, and the shoulder of his jacket scraped against the textured wall. "Satsuki said you replaced me."

'Replaced me', like you were ever mine to begin with. "Kagami-kun is a talented player, but I can't replace what I don't have. You don't need me, remember?" He hadn't meant to sound so bitter, but it was there in his voice and it was too late to take it back, to pretend it had been a joke.

Aomine lifted an eyebrow. "Okay." He said, and he stood up straight and turned to go.

"Okay, what?" He heard himself ask. Aomine turned, just a fraction, and Kuroko could see his profile reflected in the spring setting sun. "Okay that you threw me away like a toy you'd outgrown, Aomine-kun? Okay that-"

"Tetsu." He hadn't moved an inch. The silence stretched and Kuroko felt the tears welling in his eyes. He shouldn't have been this emotional, it should have been easier. Aomine was no one to him after all, just a boy he'd known in middle school, just a stranger now.

"Goodbye, Aomine-kun. See you at the interhigh." He hoped his voice didn't shake, he was lost.

"Ha." He laughed, a derisive snort, and he turned away. He lifted his hand to wave. "See ya, Tetsu. If you make it far enough."

Haru sometimes felt like he was miles away from Makoto.

Well, technically he was. They were approximately 4263 miles away from each other, living in the two ends of the world. While Makoto was busy with his work that needed to be done before the end of this semester, Haru was busy training in Australia.

Adapting to a new environment was hard, especially for Haru who was normally shy and awkward in front of strangers. Makoto, on the other hand, was never afraid to talk to anyone, while offering a warm smile while his green eyes shown genuine kindness.

Sometimes they would text each other, talking about the new people they had met in separate environments that they were both unfamiliar with, and mostly about when they could meet again. Haru never dared to really ask the other, but he missed him terribly. He did not know whether he was afraid of the embarrassment to ask such thing, or the answer he might not wanted to hear.

Sometimes they would meet face to face, either on a web cam or in a restaurant near Makoto’s university in Tokyo. Haru found it quite traumatizing that they seemed to not know what to talk about anymore.

Submerging into the warm bath in his newly-furnished studio flat, Haru closed his eyes and relaxed for the first time during this busy day. He had moved all his belongings from his old home to here - of course, with the help of Rin. He could not had done it all by himself considering how many things he was bringing with him.

Before moving he cleaned his old room in Iwatobi, throughout and without missing a tiny bit. After living for 18 years there was only so much to expect from what you could dig out from that one junk drawer you never opened and never dared to clean. He found a photo album which consisted of lots of pictures taken when he was only about eight or nine.It was dusty and heavy and was bound to be stuffed in yet another neglected drawer, but he brought it along in his luggage anyway.

The colors of the pictures were slightly faded, but the blush on his face while being hugged on the shoulders with Makoto could still be seen. He could not remember what day it was, since he had spent so many similar ones with his teammate. Maybe it was snapped by one of their mothers who squealed ‘how cute’ while the two boys walked out of the sports center barefooted with wet hair.

But the greenness was still so vivid to Haru’s eyes.

Haru guessed that he was just paranoid that it was an inevitable fact that Makoto would not stick with him forever. When the time came, he would try to let him go. Only because Makoto was never his to begin with.

He wondered when would he had the courage to make a phone call that began with -

“There’s something I want to tell you.”

THANK YOU I'm glad you liked it. I had tons of fun writing that up - I usually can't write more than a few hundred words in one sitting but this one got me and didn't let go.

I'm afraid I also know nothing about Kpop. So I can't say what Aoyagi's sister does... though I'm sure she would tell you all about it, at length, and she probably has her room plastered in posters.
