Bonus Round 1: Quotes

Bonus Round 1: Quotes

SASO 2015 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

PLAY BALL! For this round, we'd like you to take inspiration from songs, sayings, poems, and other kinds of famous words.

Because this is our first full round, please read this post carefully before proceeding!

This round ends at 7PM on June 13 EDT. Countdown Timer.

RULES
  • Submit prompts by commenting to this post with a quote attributed to a specific person or character, along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
    • Example: "Hi-ho, Kermit the Frog here!" -Kermit the Frog
    • The quote can come from anywhere. Famous people, poetry, songs, books, movies, your neighbor, etc.
    • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Yachi & Kiyoko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Yachi/Kiyoko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
  • Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your quote-inspired fanwork.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
  • You cannot fill your team's prompts or your own prompts.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only.

830 Words (Hajime is so OOC I'm so ashamed)

“Where were you last night?” The detective asked. His hair seemed too long, it kept falling in his face, and casting shadows in the harsh light of the interrogation room.

“Shouldn’t you know that since I’m the one in cuffs?” Hajime asked, and he lifted his bound hands and shook them slightly. The chain that connected the cuffs to the table rattled, emphasizing his point. The detective ignored his joke.

“We have evidence that puts you at the sign of the robbery.” A man standing near the shadows by the door handed him a folder and he set it on the table, surprisingly gently. “That is why you’re in cuffs, Iwaizumi-san.”

“I’m guessing the evidence is in that folder.”

“Yes, it is.”

“Can I see it?”

“No, you can’t.”

Hajime sighed and rolled his eyes. “Okay, so I’m supposed to defend myself, right? And how am I supposed to do that if you won’t tell me what I’m defending from?”

“You’re supposed to be telling the truth.” The detective sat down in the chair across from him, the metal scraping against the concrete floor, and when he leaned forward Hajime could see the name on his badge.

“Detective Imaizumi, huh? We make quite a pair. What would happen if a secretary mixed up our names. Would I get to put you in cuffs?” That got the rise he was expecting. God, this detective was easy to read, and if the blush on his cheeks said anything, he was more than a little kinky.

“Iwaizumi-san, please just answer my question. Where were you last night?”

“At home, in bed, of course.”

“Alone?”

“Shockingly, yes.” The blush was back, just for a second, and the Detective sat straighter in his chair.

“Is there anyone who can corroborate your alibi?”

“I suppose the doorman to my building, he saw me come in around nine.”

The detective turned, beckoning over a man from the shadows and said something quietly in his ear. After a few seconds of conversation he turned back and flipped through the file on the table. From what Hajime could see it was text, no photos, not even anything interesting.

“The doorman to your building can’t be reached for a statement. No one’s seen him since last night.”

“Oh, that’s horrible.” Hajime struggled to keep the smile off his face. He didn’t relish the necessity to eliminate the man, it was a job, and he’d seen too much, but egging on the detective proved too tempting an offer.

“Anyone else?” Imaizumi closed the folder and crossed his hands on the table. They looked nice, nimble.

“Anyone else, what?” He acted more distracted than he was, and he was sure the detective fell for it when his gaze dropped from Hajime’s eyes to his lips.

“Anyone else who saw you last night, before you went home alone, that is.”

“Oh,” Hajime considered the question, or least pretended to. “What time is it?”

Imaizumi turned and glanced at one of the men behind him, who then spoke.

“Five ‘til eight.” Oh, it’s a woman, he realized.

“Thanks.”

Hajime moved, kicking the chair out from behind him and crawling under the table the best he could with his hands cuffed to the top. The wall exploded inward and then he heard nothing. There was a pain in his head and his hands where rubble was falling. The smoke cleared and someone knelt next to him and unhooked the handcuffs. The man offered his hand and he could just hear the voice over the loud ringing in his ears.

“Come on, Iwa-chan, let’s go!”

“Hang on, I gotta check something.” He knew he was yelling, but he couldn’t help it. He stood up fully and looked around the room. It wasn’t pretty, and one of the officers by the door, a man, not the woman, looked most certainly like he was dead, as half his skull was crushed by a cinderblock. Detective Imaizumi had fared better, and while he was bloody and bruised, he was breathing.

Hajime found the folder, now nothing but dirty scattered papers and held his hand out to Oikawa. He handed him a pen.

He scrawled a note, as neatly as he could with his injured hand and stuffed it in Imaizumi’s breast pocket.

______

When Imaizumi woke he couldn’t hear anything but ringing and screaming. The wall was demolished, and the suspect was gone. When the paramedics came, it had clearly been too late to save Manami, Kanzaki and him were taken to the hospital.

It was three days before he saw the note, with his personal effects in the bag from the hospital.

”Nice to meet you, Detective, shitty circumstances, but what can you do? If you’d like to talk more about the merits of handcuffs, give me a call."

It was unsigned, but the number was written at the bottom. He had no question who it was from.
