Bonus Round 1: Quotes

SASO 2015 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

PLAY BALL! For this round, we'd like you to take inspiration from songs, sayings, poems, and other kinds of famous words.

Because this is our first full round, please read this post carefully before proceeding!

This round ends at 7PM on June 13 EDT. Countdown Timer.

RULES

Submit prompts by commenting to this post with a quote attributed to a specific person or character, along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
- Example: "Hi-ho, Kermit the Frog here!" -Kermit the Frog
- The quote can come from anywhere. Famous people, poetry, songs, books, movies, your neighbor, etc.
- Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Yachi & Kiyoko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Yachi/Kiyoko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your quote-inspired fanwork.
Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
You cannot fill your team's prompts or your own prompts.

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

The sound of the camera’s shutter was drowned out by the noise of the cheering crowd. Makoto moved from his post and adjusted the aperture before taking another series of action shots. In the span of seconds, the race was over. He chuckled before brushing a hand through his hair. He hoped he was able to capture the highlights of their race – from start to finish.

Makoto found himself waiting outside sitting on a bench as crowds upon crowds of people filed out of the exits. There were some families who lingered behind, waiting to congratulate their own athletes and embrace them for a job well done.

And speaking of the competitors.

Makoto’s very own duo appeared out of the building as Rin ran up to him and Haru was right behind him, following at a more leisurely pace.

“Makoto!” Rin grinned, smile all sharp. He placed his duffel bag down before slinging an arm around both him and Haru.

“Since our team placed in this tournament, we should all celebrate and go out to eat tonight.” He announced.

“Sounds good with me, where do you guys want to go?”

“I want to eat mackerel.” Haru piped up trying to get out of Rin’s grip.

“Of course you do, Haru.” Rin rolled his eyes fondly.

Makoto laughed before suggesting a new restaurant that opened down the street. If they rushed, they could make it before the dinnertime crowd came in.

Rin and Haru both slung their duffel bags cross their chests and Makoto adjusted the camera bag’s strap around him. The three of them decided to walk together and engaged in small talk. It was the little moments like these that Makoto cherished. He didn’t have plans to continue swimming competitively after high school. So, Makoto feared and worried that he would get left behind by these two who pursued their own dreams. He was happy for them, really he was, but without them his life seemed a little less…colorful and bright.

Makoto snapped out of his reverie when he noticed Rin’s hand right in front of his face.

“Earth to Makoto, come in Makoto. Anyone home?”

“Ah, sorry Rin! Just thinking.”

Rin turned around to face him and began to walk backwards, “Care to share?”

“Rin, that’s dangerous! You might run into something or others may run into you!” Makoto chastised.

The redhead slowed his pace before coming to a full stop in front of them. Haru, to his right, also slowed down and gently leaned on his arm – a publically affectionate Haru was a rare sight. Makoto realized he must have been more distracted and wallowing on the “what if’s” more than he thought.

“You can tell us anything you now.” Haru spoke quietly, but seriously.

In front of Makoto, Rin nodded. “We’re a team, all three of us.”

An overwhelming sense of fondness rushed into Makoto as he stared down at the two. Yes, what was he so worried about? These two were the ones who found him when he went away to Tokyo, and if he ever felt lost or misdirected again, he could count on them to find him again and show him the way out. They’ve been together since childhood, have been separated on numerous occasions, but still managed to find each other in the end.

Makoto grinned warmly, “…just worrying about if I took enough pictures of your guys’ event.”

“Oh! Right, the pictures! Once we’re seated down at a table, you can share the shots you took.”

“I’d like to see them too, Makoto.”

Yes.

This arrangement was alright.
