Bonus Round 1: Quotes

SASO 2015 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

PLAY BALL! For this round, we'd like you to take inspiration from songs, sayings, poems, and other kinds of famous words.

Because this is our first full round, please read this post carefully before proceeding!

This round ends at 7PM on June 13 EDT. Countdown Timer.

RULES

• Submit prompts by commenting to this post with a quote attributed to a specific person or character, along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
  • Example: "Hi-ho, Kermit the Frog here!" -Kermit the Frog
  • The quote can come from anywhere. Famous people, poetry, songs, books, movies, your neighbor, etc.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Yachi & Kiyoko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Yachi/Kiyoko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
• Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your quote-inspired fanwork.
• Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
• You cannot fill your team's prompts or your own prompts.

Required Work Minimums:

• 400 words (prose)
• 400px by 400px (art)
• 14 lines (poetry)

There is no max work cap.

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

this is ridiculous, tadokoro thinks. onoda shouldn't be here, back with him; he should be with the rest of the team helping lead them to victory. he's their climber after all. tadokoro was ready to give up for the team the second he felt his legs failing him. he dregs along, looking down at the ground as he pushes his legs to cycle one more time. he doesn't want to drag anyone down with him. but the "tadokoro-san!" rings sharp in his ears and onoda? he snaps up because that's right, there he is, in all of his glory, onoda sakamichi, glasses glinting in the sunlight.

"tadokoro-san! i'm going to bring you back with the team!"

"onoda..." he rasps and goes into a small coughing fit that forces him to stop. onoda bikes up to him and gets off to hold him up, letting tadokoro lean against him.

"tadokoro-san, here," he says, pulling off water bottles from his bike. "please take it. they were a gift from naruko-kun." onoda smiles at him, even though nearly all of tadokoro's weight is on him. tadokoro chugs down the water in seconds flat and wipes his mouth.

"onoda...you really shouldn't be here...your place is with the team, not with this old man," he heaves.

onoda looks at him, eyes big and quizzical. "i am with the team tadokoro-san. we just have to catch up with the rest of them." onoda's smile is steady and bright and tadokoro's muscles are aching, but he feels warmth bubble up through his creaking joints as onoda helps him back onto his bike. onoda might have cost their team by coming back for him, and tadokoro hates that he thinks this but he's glad he's not here alone. "tadokoro-san," onoda says, "are you ready?" he goes back over to his own bike and straps on his helmet, securing the latch underneath.

tadokoro holds back tears as he fixes on his own helmet. onoda biking with him, his small figure leading the way, lights a fire that spreads through his bones and it burns but it's a good kind, a kind that wakes him up and makes him want to go on. he watches onoda's small back push on and he thinks, for all the power onoda sakamichi holds, his kindness is the only one that brings back the world.
