Prompt: Team Haikyuu!!
Love is still lingering in my room
Before the memory becomes real, in a moment
It felt like you were in front of my eyes
Around me (loneliness is spreading)
The vision (is being blurred by tears)
A sentence "I love you", I left it deep in the bottom of my heart and put it on the tip of my lips
- Blue Tomorrow, Super Junior M
FILL: Team Tachibana Makoto/Yamazaki Sousuke, G
What’s it like?
A battleground with rivets of blood staining the land. A village unfit to host any family with its ruined houses. A kingdom in shambles left in his wake. It’s almost impossible to imagine the town in its former glory of bustling streets filled with lively people.
So very opposite of the silent ground beneath his feet.
Oikawa stood up shakily (when had he kneeled down?) and walked towards his throne. He passed by what were once beautiful stained-glass windows, but were reduced to sharp protrusions that lay in shattered remains on the palace’s floor. Black scorch marks were etched onto the walls from arrows lit with flames. The tips of blades and forged weapons alike left their marks in the form of scratchy indentations on the castle’s structure.
It was almost too much for Oikawa to take in.
Until finally.
Finally, his feet took him right in front of his throne where an immobile figure laid before him. A broken sob ripped its way out of his throat before he could stop it as he all but collapsed in despair.
Tentative hands shook as they gently brushed away dark bangs. Fearful of…what? Shattering him? Oikawa laughed bitterly, but it sounded more like a strangled sound of hysterics, for he knew the other man was anything but fragile. Oikawa believed them to be invincible, despite them both being humans and were bound by the limits of mortality.
He just never thought…
He never imagined a time when…
Another cry was startled out of him before he covered his mouth to prevent anymore from slipping through.
It was always the two of them.
He never fathomed a future where he’d be without his most cherished person.
----
As the remaining guards, searched the rest of the ruined palace for survivors – or prisoners of the invading army – Oikawa hoped morbidly, wanting to stick his blade into something, but he shook away the thoughts of hate-driven revenge as he knew Iwaizumi would frown upon that sort of thing. It did little to quell his bloodlust, but his kingdom has seen enough blood shed and he a lifetime’s worth.
It was time to make reparations and rebuild, but there were limits as to what could be replaced and what were forever lost. Oikawa draped his arms over his tucked in legs and buried his head in them, breathing shallowly.
He wished he could have been there.
He wished that he never left.
He wished he knew that it was a trap.
He wished that he could hear his voice again, to hold him close once more.
But wishing won’t get you anywhere, and it definitely won’t bring back what you’ve lost.
----
What’s it like?
To be alone.
Would you believe me when I say that this was supposed to be happy, but then scraped the idea and somehow it turned out like this? OTL
