Bonus Round 1: Quotes

SASO 2015 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).

PLAY BALL! For this round, we'd like you to take inspiration from songs, sayings, poems, and other kinds of famous words.

Because this is our first full round, please read this post carefully before proceeding!

This round ends at 7PM on June 13 EDT. Countdown Timer.

RULES

Submit prompts by commenting to this post with a quote attributed to a specific person or character, along with any ship/ot3/etc. from one of our nominated fandoms.
- Example: "Hi-ho, Kermit the Frog here!" -Kermit the Frog
- The quote can come from anywhere. Famous people, poetry, songs, books, movies, your neighbor, etc.
- Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. (This is not the sports anime gen olympics.) Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Yachi & Kiyoko). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Yachi/Kiyoko). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
Fill prompts by replying to the prompt with your quote-inspired fanwork.
Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.
You cannot fill your team's prompts or your own prompts.

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Headphones aren’t allowed on the ascent or descent of the plane. Neither are cellphones. So when the friendly flight attendant glares at him for using both, he shoots an apologetic grin and pockets them both after rereading a text log from a week ago -- the one comprised of “hey im coming home for the holidays” complete with a winky face that he hoped Haru had understood, and the very eloquent response of “k.”

Looking at the snowy fields coming closer and closer into view, Rin smiles. He can’t wait.

It’s an unspoken rule that Rin stays with Haru when he’s in town. Even with family nearby, whom he loves and cherishes, it’s always been an “independence” thing that no one has minded (especially since the two finally figured out that they should start dating thanks to a push in the right direction from that meddler Nagisa).

So it’s Haru who picks him up at the airport, who stands near the coffee shop by the arrivals area with a latte in hand that he passes to Rin as he offers to help carry his luggage. It’s his order, he remembered, and that’s sweet, Rin thinks, as they pile into Haru’s people-mover and start the ride home listening to those Sounds of Nature CDs that Haru collects from Bed Bath and Beyond (“They were half off,” Haru says over the sounds of a babbling brook when Rin pokes him about it).

The track changes to birds twittering and a breeze that sounds like it’s ruffling through trees and after a bit of small talk (like “nice weather” and “so how’s Gou doing as the Iwatobi Swim Club captain?”), Haru tells him to take a nap.

“But we’re like fifteen minutes away from your house,” Rin says.

“Close your eyes,” Haru tries again, and Rin huffs out a laugh.

“Okay, fine.”

“So, Makoto wanted to remind us to use protection,” Haru states, utterly deadpan as he leads him into his kitchen, and he gestures toward a box of condoms on the counter and a -- was that a barrel??

“Haru, what’s that?” Rin asks, pointing specifically to a bright blue barrel labelled in obnoxiously hot pink, cursive, bold font: LUBE.

“Lube,” Haru answers, pointing to the word, and Rin tries his best not to cringe.

“Was a barrel of it necessary?”

“It’s water-based.” A strange shine glosses over Haru’s bright blue eyes. Oh god…

“I--” Rin has no words. In all honesty, he probably should have expected this (he vaguely wonders if Makoto was there to attempt to stop the madness, but if he was then he failed miserably).

Haru fastens his goggles on, pressing them in around his eyes as he turns to Rin. “I’m going in.” He says it with a graveness Rin can’t help but think is cool somehow despite the ridiculousness of, well, everything as Haru strips down to his swimsuit.

Rin almost questions his taste in boyfriends as Haru executes a perfect dive into the waist length barrel. The formerly full waist length barrel, which compensates for the added mass by splashing everything nearby, Rin included, in supposedly odorless goop.

Distantly, Rin recalls watching a few explicit videos, lent to him during his first stay in Australia. He remembers being captivated, the only way a fifteen year old could be, by the cheesy lines, low budget lighting, and the pure novelty of naked people doing things to other naked people.

(Filthy things. Rin took two freezing showers after watching. Then, he asked if he could borrow it for the weekend. For science, of course.)

He remembers the threesome scene in the sequel version, where the former rivals opened up to each other (in more ways than one), bodies covered in lubricant, more than enough to make their coupling painless in a way Rin honestly thought was pretty convenient. And… nice.

But now, fully clothed and drenched in lube, Rin knows better.

He sighs and turns to the bathroom. “I’ll take the first shower.”

Haru, face full of bliss, hums in acknowledgement.

I can't help but laugh each time I read through this... it starts off all cute AND THEN
