Bonus Round 4: Official Art

Bonus Round 4: Official Art

This round is CLOSED. Late fills can be posted, but they won't receive points.

Memorable canon moments, bizarre omakes, tantalizing magazine spreads—this is the round to explore them all. Bring out your screencaps, promotional art, and manga pages, and let's talk about what really happened.
Please read the rules carefully before posting!

RULES
  • Submit prompts in the form of a canon screencap from one of our nominated fandoms along with a ship. Screencaps can be from an anime or manga, as well as any other kind of offshoot media, e.g. official art, drama CD covers, light novel illustrations, magazine covers, and/or caps from games. Doujinshi, fan-made games or any other fan-created work should not be prompted, even if you receive permission. Only prompt screencaps that are taken from a piece of canon media.
  • Keep your prompt concise. Don't prompt a whole manga chapter, for example.
  • Upload the cap somewhere (imgur works well) and post here with the images themselves or a link to them.
  • Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Riko & Momoi). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Riko/Momoi). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
  • Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work inspired by the cap.
  • Fills can be directly connected to the cap, e.g. panel redraws or writing fic that fleshes out the moment that was capped or that fleshes out what happened directly before/after, but fills can also be more indirectly linked. As long as the work is somehow inspired by the cap, it counts.
  • Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

SCORING
These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.
If you're hunting through the prompts looking for what to fill, a good trick is to view top-level comments only.

participant 9 here. i hope this is okay /o\

Imaizumi watches with bated breath as Sugimoto overtakes Danchiku to race neck-and-neck with Kaburagi, the two of them drawing closer and closer to the finish line. He wants Sugimoto to win, to honor his words that he'd be Imaizumi's assist.

It makes Imaizumi smile when he thinks about their first year welcome race. All Imaizumi wanted to do was cycle and win. He remembers Sugimoto talking about showing off his three years of cycling experience and then Imaizumi blowing past him, only thinking of how to take down Naruko.

He chuckles when he thinks about it now because for all of Sugimoto's boasting about his cycling experience, he's quiet when it's just him and Imaizumi on the road. Imaizumi's words are gentle when he tries to teach Sugimoto and Sugimoto responds in kind, soaking it in and letting it speak through his pedals. Imaizumi chalks up their peaceful rides to both of them enjoying the ease of the ride, but he also thinks that Sugimoto's quiet determination is another thing he loves about him.

The first year welcome race this year is too close and Imaizumi knows how much Sugimoto has bet on this. Sugimoto's impassioned yelling shakes all of them to the core and Imaizumi can only stand and watch as Sugimoto bares his all on the road. Sugimoto is great support off the road, Imaizumi knows this, but he can't help thinking that Sugimoto would be just as good, no, even better, on the road beside him, giving him a gentle shove on the lower back.

The pair are in the double digits in terms of how many kilometers they have left to go and Imaizumi watches each revolution of Sugimoto's wheels as best he can. They're a little slower than Kaburagi's. Sugimoto is particularly good at pacing himself, but he's struggled with the final sprints and Imaizumi knows that now's as good a time as any, maybe even now or never, for Sugimoto to push through those limits of his and take the final sprint.

Kaburagi and Sugimoto are within reach of the finish line and the team watches as Kaburagi breaks through first. Sugimoto wobbles past the finish line then tips over, slamming into the concrete.

Imaizumi's eyes harden, but he is the first at Sugimoto's side and kneels down to help him sit up.

Sugimoto slumps into Imaizumi's arms and Imaizumi doesn't want to tell Sugimoto that he didn't make the regulars line-up again. He can feel Sugimoto smiling and his back is so free of tension that to tell him otherwise is too cruel. He clings onto Sugimoto's back tighter and brings him in closer.

"You did your best," Imaizumi says and then buries his face in Sugimoto's shoulder so Sugimoto can't see how wrecked Imaizumi is.

"I did it," Sugimoto pants. "I did it, Imaizumi." He leans into Imaizumi who offers him his shoulder, and Imaizumi wraps his arms around Sugimoto and touches his chin down on Sugimoto's back. The tears flow out on their own.
