Bonus Round 4: Official Art
Bonus Round 4: Official Art
This round is CLOSED. Late fills can be posted, but they won't receive points.
Memorable canon moments, bizarre omakes, tantalizing magazine spreads—this is the round to explore them all. Bring out your screencaps, promotional art, and manga pages, and let's talk about what really happened.
Please read the rules carefully before posting!
RULES
- Submit prompts in the form of a canon screencap from one of our nominated fandoms along with a ship. Screencaps can be from an anime or manga, as well as any other kind of offshoot media, e.g. official art, drama CD covers, light novel illustrations, magazine covers, and/or caps from games. Doujinshi, fan-made games or any other fan-created work should not be prompted, even if you receive permission. Only prompt screencaps that are taken from a piece of canon media.
- Keep your prompt concise. Don't prompt a whole manga chapter, for example.
- Upload the cap somewhere (imgur works well) and post here with the images themselves or a link to them.
- Your prompt MUST include some kind of relationship. Platonic relationships are indicated by an "&" between the names (e.g., Riko & Momoi). Non-platonic relationships use "/" (e.g., Riko/Momoi). Please don't say "Any pairing," either!
- Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work inspired by the cap.
- Fills can be directly connected to the cap, e.g. panel redraws or writing fic that fleshes out the moment that was capped or that fleshes out what happened directly before/after, but fills can also be more indirectly linked. As long as the work is somehow inspired by the cap, it counts.
- Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

"You're breaking the house rules we set."
Manami shifted their shoulders, until they could slide back, pretending they were not in the middle of two angry teenagers who were keeping the game from continuing.
"You saaay that as though any rules matter in the quest for victory. Living up to your name, now, Weaki-"
Manami sneezed. Onoda jumped up, to pull Midousuji's controller out of their hand. "I'm really sorry, but I only have an hour until I have to leave!" From behind their hair, they could see the way she kneaded her fingers together, before pulling together the courage to say, "I'd really like to see through to the end of the game, so you need to take your turn now, Midousuji!"
On the screen, there was the faint sound of Waluigi shrieking out a taunt - quickly drowned out by the endless cry of Toad, repeated to the point of a hypnotic headache-inducing wail, and Manami's quiet speedy taps. Nonetheless, Midousuji siat down without complaint of their own, to play their turn to the finish, using a capsule to illegally take a star that Imaizumi had been one turn from attaining for his own.
It was a little funny. Not really, though - Manami didn't much care for games. Competition was something of its own, but, that required something special. Their turn came around - they hit the die - the spot they landed on didn't matter, but their mouth still curved into something of a smile.
"Looks like a Bowser space," they hummed, even as Onoda yelped, even as Midousuji grit their teeth, even as Imaizumi bunched his shoulders up against them. It was a little funny, how the others would get into such small games - here was Bowser, and here were the pots, and Toad rocketed out of the first one the spiky turtle breathed fire onto. "Oh, that's all my coins, isn't it?"
"Manami ... it's okay to be upset," Onoda whispered, as she stood up on her knees to whisper from behind Imaizumi. "I promise you aren't being a bother."
"Yes, Maaanami, we might think you're cheating," Midousuji interrupted, hovering close to their face. "Isn't it a bit suspect that second place is so happy to lose so much?"
"What? I'm second place?" They blinked emphatically, honestly unaware, but somewhat entertained by their opponent's probing question. "That isn't much of anything to note, is it?"
Imaizumi snorted, from his fourth place position - one that he could have avoided if he allowed himself to take stars or coins from Onoda. The tale-tell ring of the die on screen continued as Onoda took her turn, far away from the relative world of Manami's coy smile at the two who sat on either side of them.
Midousuji landed on a chance space - and Manami subtly bumped into them, right as they moved to choose which two people were to be involved. "Oh," they said, chipper and distant, "Looks like we're going to see which of us has to lose something."
Faintly, they could hear Onoda asking Imaizumi if everything was alright, as he moved to lift her into his lap, so the two of them could edge further away from the stare-down on the dead side of the couch. At least he was getting something of his own out of this, Manami figured, just as Midousuji was giving up two stars to them.
Making enemies was funner than Mario Party - or perhaps that was the point of the game, more than collecting pointless pixels of stars.
So they were glad to end on a duel space - though they were slightly disappointed at how Midousuji ripped their controller out of their hands to select the opponent themself. "You're dueling me," it hissed.
"Oh, I know!" Manami laughed. "Who else would I pick?" There was no cheating monster around who deserved to lose as much as - them. "We're supposed to play to win, aren't we? Or so I've heard." Second place without much of a thought - winning only certain mini-games, but Manami won those every time. First place didn't mean much of anything unless it was first place out of a finish by the skin of their teeth. "You know what I'm good at, Midousuji? I'm pretty good at video games. I grew up with them! Did you play many?"
The roulette spun as it moved to select the game.
"Not particularly," they answered, tongue lolling from their mouth.
"I don't think we should play Mario Party anymore, Imaizumi," Onoda whispered.
The game explanation popped up, and Midousuji clicked through it without bothering to look, not even at Manami's shining eyes. "I played them all the time, all alone! I don't play as much anymore, but there's one thing I'm always really good at." Manami rose to their feet - Midousuji pushed them back onto the couch - they stepped up on the cushion itself and sat at the top, tensing their shoulders as they bounced.
Midousuji was surprisingly good with the mini-games - but that was all the reason in the world they needed to pull out everything they had - otherwise they wouldn't win - there was the question of what the prize for the game even was - what would they lose - but it didn't matter, it was just a game, and they shoved their foot against Midousuji's back as they balanced themself and began to hammer the button.
"I'm really good at button mashing."
Re: FILL: TEAM AOYAGI HAJIME/IZUMIDA TOUICHIROU, G
as usual, i love all your attention to detail re: Manami, and the background imasaka (Imaizumi refusing to take any of Onoda's stars, omg, Imaizumi, how sappy can you get).
i'm sorry to hear the prompt made you sad though >.< i hope it wasn't too bad...
