LOOKING FORWARD
Unfortunately, SWAG was a one-time-only deal; it will not be returning to our event schedule. However, we are moving IHX to become our winter event! It will probably run around January-February.
Thank you to those of you who came back for a repeat of this wild fandom ride. We hope you had fun again this year too. If you were new this year, we hope you had a good time!
The whole event, we mods couldn't help but gushing to each other over all the amazing fanwork we saw. You did an amazing job this year. Whether you made a hundred fanworks or just one, we know that you pushed outside your comfort zone and really did your best. You've helped to enrich and support your fandoms. We hope you're seriously proud of yourself, because we are seriously proud of you.
Congratulations!! Feel free to reply this post and party. We hope to see you again at SASO 2017!

Thanks to my team, you guys were great even if you all died so much. All your effort was really inspiring and actually?? helped push me to GET GOOD in terms of the quality and types of things I wrote/drew.
THANKS TO MOD TEAM FOR DEALING WITH ALL US UNRULY KIDDOS seriously, this event literally wouldn't exist without you guys.
also.
Congrats to team Ayamiki like holy crap??? So proud of yall.

Ah!!! Everyone did so well and honestly so many teams from so many different Fandoms made such incredible works and honestly once I have time I might binge read daiya and pedal to start. I already got into chihayafuru because of this event and I LOVE IT!!!
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TOP THREE!!! You guys deserve it like mad! Y'all should be proud!!
Also @ teams who participated in all rounds: holy cow that's some real dedication right there!! Congrats!!
Artistic awesomeness though I CRY BECAUSE OMG WHAT WHAT WHAAAT??!!! BUT THANK YOU!!! ON BEHALF OF MY TEAM WE ALL THANK YOU FOR THIS EVENT *bows deeply*
And thank you for all the participants making it such a blast as well!!!!
Also @ MiyukiMiyuki team: you guys' entry is the entry my entire team always look forward to like the selfcest we DIDN'T KNOW WE NEEDED (most of us didn't even know who Miyuki was even) Y'all did grand!!!

I don't know if I ever thought I'd be seeing the end of this. I didn't think too much of it and before this I never really joined many events due to my own personal difficulties with deadlines and stuff. And while I wasn't able to be active in bonus rounds and what have you, I'm very honored to have been a part of this event.
Shout out to my Team, Team Asanoya. Our captain was probably the biggest inspiration and it made working on the main rounds so much easier for me. You were the artist and literally the mastermind for so much and the fact you did all you did despite how busy you were always left me amazed (and afraid of your power). My team pushed me to get better as a writer, and helped me understand the importance of word limits.
Thank you so much.
Also much thanks to the mod team for handling every little mess with grace. I don't know how you guys did it but you guys have my utmost respect. Really, you guys are true mvps. This wouldn't have been possible without your hardwork and dedication.
Also shout out to team Bokuroo, Tananoya and Asadaisuga. Your works were fun and always a pleasure to look at. Please keep being amazing.
My only regret is not being able to participate in bonus rounds due to time and technological restraints but if I come back around next year I'll rock it and have no regrets period.
Much love.

anyway, on behalf of team tnny, thank you! we're glad to hear you enjoyed what we created. ditto to you guys too, though! you did really well and should be super proud of what you created. if you did the best you could and pushed your own limits, I don't think you should have any regrets this year either. <3
no subject
Either way thank you for the super kind words and honestly that's kinda what makes it all worth it yeah? I'm surprised I did this. Surprised but happy. We even made top fifteen in one round. That's something amazing.
So you're right. I'll try not to have any regrets this year. We both did our best! <3 *sends you hearts.*
Come on and give me a hug.
miyuki kazuya/sawamura eijun captain here!
mods: running this event could not have been easy. i'm so impressed with the diligence you guys showed through out the duration of this thing. it occurs to me that all us are relieved saso is over; it was hard work and required so much energy, but i can't even imagine how difficult was for you mods. it's so apparent you guys always did your best and the payout for us as participants was gold to me - i created some stuff that i'm proud of in a way different from anything else i've done. you guys are probably grateful for a breather too. thank you for all of your hard work.
this event forced me to be creative in ways i didn't know i could be! and seeing the beautiful submissions from so many other teams who were working just as hard as me is sort of awesome. it's kinda funny because a common theme in sports anime is a true rivalry that brings out the best in opponents; i think saso and the other teams brought out the best in me and in those around me. i'm so thankful for this event tbh. coming just short of a top ranking has simply motivated me to work a thousand times harder next year!
team
fam: you guys are freaking amazing. i can't believe the stuff we did. i've participated in gift exchanges, fandom bangs, rp weeks and event weeks - i don't think i even put half the effort i put into those that i did into this. it was honestly amazing to get to work with you all. some of you i was friends with, some of you i knew from fandom circles and some of you i had never talked to at all - all of the stress we put ourselves through feels worth it because i got to know you guys. thanks for all your hard work and thanks for putting up with me. love your error-prone captain.EVERYONE ELSE: a full round of applause to top ranking teams. i'm friends with many of you and i know how much y'all busted your asses for this thing. you deserve your rank and bragging rights! i'm bragging to anyone for you right now. sometimes it's hard being on the outskirts of fandom. i remember when i had just started working my way thru daiya fandom and how intimidating it was to be surrounded by such beautiful fanworks. everything i admired was always so well written and beautifully created. it's still kind of a shock, but being in this event reminded me why we all suffer through fandom related work; the outcome is amazing and impressive and i'm so happy to be surrounded by such talented people. all of you are pretty awesome! ♥♥♥

I absolutely needed something exactly like this, where so many people were so excited about their shows and pairings and friends, and I felt included in it. It made such a difference to me this summer. THANK YOU, EVERYBODY.

I couldn't be more proud of my team for all of their hard work and sticking it out 'til the end despite all the craziness we dealt with. 'against all odds' is definitely a fitting superlative, just in that sense www. we had such a blast sharing our work with everyone. a huge thank you again to everyone who helped pull us into the top 10 for the first main round; we were so humbled and overjoyed! thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
congrats to the teams who placed in the rankings - you guys all totally killed it out there and your dedication paid off!! you should all be wicked proud of yourselves! \(*^o^*)/

I personally want to congratulate Miyuki Kazuya, who placed within the final top ten not once, not twice, but thrice! Wow! What a man!!!
Joking aside, congratulations to all the teams! You did great, no matter what your final score was. And obviously the biggest congrats are going to the mod team for their hard work-- thank you again and again, you guys are the real MVPs! ♥
I wish I've been more active but it have been a fun ride anyway. I still have a lot of fills that I wanna read and I'm determined to comment on stuff once I get some free time and a break in anxiety-- so in advance sorry for the late replies out of nowhere if I startle anyone, I just feel that I need to toss back some love wwww
I hope in 2017 we will make SASO Geat Again!

and they're all so in character, like, you translated the art styles and facial expressions and body language quirks of every character i can see so that they integrate perfectly. i totally sympathize with being shy so i'll let you go at your own pace but i'd love to follow you on twitter or tumblr if you post more art there?
in the meantime i'll go back to staring at my girls being cute in the corner. thank you so much for drawing this!!!!!
no subject
makes weak noises I'm actually super bad when it comes to posting stuff on the net so actual drawing updates are pretty scarce _(´ω`;_ ∠)_ but if you don't mind that, then I'm kiwiaste at both tumblr and twitter, feel free to catch me anywhere, I'm always happy to have more people to cry about sports animanga with haha
and your girls are so lucky, you and your team fought for them bravely!! GOOD JOB AND CONGRATS!!!

to the mod team: thank you for putting this event on. i am so endlessly grateful.
to all the people i met this summer: thank you for being the bright spots in my life these past four months, which were otherwise pretty shitty for me. y'all are spectacular.
to my team: y'all are incredible. i'm so proud of us for breaking top 15, for participating in every round, and for GETTING THE STORYTELLING AWARD HOLY SHIT (seriously i don't think i'll ever be over this one). very special shout outs to heidi (WHAT A GOOD CAPTAIN UGH I AM SO PROUD AND SO HONORED TO HAVE BEEN ON YOUR TEAM) and andrea—their content (both in a quality and quantity sense) is what pushed me to push myself to keep creating.
i'm just a ball of emotions right now i just love this event so much and will be counting down the days until next summer. <3

This was a rough year for personal reasons, but I still enjoyed the heck out of the event, and will absolutely be back in the future, especially as the event gets better and more refined every year c: all the lovely people I met should find me on twitter (@affectionatetea)! i have been too busy and overwhelmed to go follow everyone but i'd love to chat with all the new friends i met<3

And as captain, I also want to gesture wildly at all of Team Imaizumi/Naruko for their hard work and talents and I'm just, I'm so proud of everything we made this year. Whispers, I love you guys and I love our redblues.
Thank you again, SASO <3
