Bonus Round 2: AUs

SASO 2015 is over, but this round is perpetually open to new fills (no new prompts).


This round is made for exploration of all those "what-if?" scenarios, like "what if my favorite sports anime was actually a spaghetti western?" or "what if everything was the same except everyone was actually a car?"


This round ends at 7PM on June 27 EDT. Countdown Timer.

RULES

• Submit prompts by commenting to this post with an alternate universe idea, along with a ship from one of our nominated fandoms.
• An AU could be a canon divergence, e.g. "what if [team] didn't win the Inter High in season 1, but [other team] did instead?", or a completely different setting altogether, e.g.s pop idol AU, coffee shop AU, superheroes AU, etc.
• Fill prompts by leaving a responding comment to the prompt with your newly-created work.
• Remember to follow the general bonus round rules, outlined here.

SCORING

These numbers apply to your team as a whole, not each individual teammate. Make as many prompts/fills as you want!

For prompts: 5 points each (maximum of 50 prompt points per team per round)

For fills:

First 3 fills by any member of your team: 20 points each
Fills 4-10: 10 points each
Fills 11-20: 5 points each
Fills 21+: 2 points each

All scored content must be created new for this round.

Etc.

Sugawara is the older, more experienced though somewhat less powerful telepath/telekinetic who helps him out.

(I decided to have them all in the same house, because even if their personalities and wants would logically sort them into other houses, sorting is not always so hard and fast like that...)

"No, no! You guys gotta be more careful with your pronunciation," Rin said, before uttering "diminuendo", shrinking the hat to a size that would fit on Haru's cat. At least, that was his first thought when he saw it like that.


"Sorry, Rin--" Makoto started, until a loud commotion from the common room had them all turn their heads.


"Looks like Nagisa and Rei finished their trip to Hogsmeade."


"Rei-chan, hurry up!"


"I'm trying! Did we truly need so many all at once...?"


Rei grunted as he carried the huge bag-- until he apparently remembered that he had magic, and uttered Wingardium Leviosa to carry it all the way up to Haru's bed. As much as he likely wanted it to land gracefully, the spell gave out and all of the sweets spilled over the sheets.


"Dig in everyone!"


Makoto was all too quick to grab a couple of chocolate bars, while Haru took some crystallized pineapple.


"Don't eat them all at once, at least," Rin said, before taking a container of pink coconut ice, very shiny and pink. Nagisa already popped a peppermint toad into his mouth while Rei was still considering all of the options. Clearly, not a fan of the jelly slugs.


Haru nibbled at the edges of his pineapple. "Thanks, you two," he said, a strain in his voice he couldn't fully repress.


"But now I got all this sugar in my system." As studious as Rin was, he was also the Chaser of the Quidditch team, loved the feeling of the wind in his hair, and practically lived for competition. "Let's race, Haru!"


Makoto had that confused look-- Haru recognized it. He knew that Makoto was trying to get a read on him, as he always did. But Haru couldn't have that now. So he turned back to Rin.


"You're on."


Not used to seeing Haru take him up so easily, all too used to proclamations of 'too much effort', Rin also looked taken aback. Only for a second, however, as his look of shock turned into a grin.


"Then you're all invited to come see Haru get smoked! Accio Firebolt!"


The challenge was enough to get Haru's mind off of the worry, letting him concentrate on grabbing his own broom and running off to the Quidditch pitch, where he could pretend to be oblivious and feel the wind in his hair as well. While Rin and Haru led the way, the others followed (carrying some of the haul of sweets along the way).


Haru's wonderful, radiant friends.


He knew that they wouldn't join the Dark Lord. They all stood firm in their morals. They were all good people. Least of all would Rin join him-- after all, the Death Eaters murdered his father, the famous wizard Matsuoka Toraichi. The Death Eaters, the league that the Nanase family had been serving in secret for decades now. If Haru dared to disobey, it would only be worse.


This is the reason why he didn't want any friends, but they all had wormed their way into his heart.


He only hoped that they could forgive him when the time came, and that they would be safe.
